  1. Or we're over the age of eight. I think you mac and cheese haters have just had Kraft or Stouffer's stuff. There's nothing on this list in the same realm as good homemade mac and cheese. Nothing. It's just pasta with melted cheese. It's heavy and gooey and not particularly interesting. You're romanticizing what isn't a quality side dish so much as a meal of last resort. At least corn on the cob is a great summer cookout food. Macaroni and cheese is either what your parents give you to fill you up because you still have indiscriminatory taste buds, or what you eat when you're poor. I mean, I love beef jerky, but deep down, I know it sucks. This is tantamount to saying that white bread is better than focaccia because we haven't had the really good white bread. I love you Czech but you're way wroung. Good mac and cheese, with sharp cheddar, some bread crumbs is the perfect comfort food. I'm going to stop because I'm realizing this argument is so subjective and we aren't come to any sort of compromise. And I have had some really good white bread. Not better than Focaccia though.
  2. How much do you think his personal problems have affected his career? A ton. His career as a full-time wrestler was essentially done at the age of 40. If not for them, he would have had a ton more success. Instead, he stands alongside Marty Jannetty as the poster boys of how to completely fuck up a potentially huge wrestling career. He had a good career but he could have had a great one if not for his demons. Do you think Hall was ever main event material? As a heel during the first part of his first WWF run, yes and he sort of was for a brief period. IMO, Razor Ramon was way way better as a heel than a babyface. It's easy to forget now with Scarface posters on every hip hop superstar's living room walls and everybody overquoting in but in '92, that movie was semi-obscure (Allegedly Vince McMahon and Pat Patterson hadn't even seen it- thinking that Hall was some kind of genius) so a Tony Montana knockoff character was as cutting edge you could get for a character based off a ten year old movie. Hall's droll delivery on the mic worked as a heel but didn't quite work as well as a face. I always thought he was the New Generation Equivalent of Jake Roberts as a face, the guy who the top heels would knock off right before facing the #1 babyface. In WCW, the roster was so deep and Hall's problems were so plentiful that he don't think he really had a shot at being more than being an upper mid-card guy, who occassionally gets a main event. What effect has his membership in The Kliq had on his career and his legacy? Not much really. If anything, it sort of hurt it. Ramon was always kind of in the shadow of Michaels and Diesel during their heyday (last part of '95, first part of '96). Hall seemed more genial than his Kliq mates so he always seemed kind of happy to play second fiddle to those guys and he continued to play second fiddle in WCW (with the exception of the beginning of the nWo) What were some of Hall's best matches? Well there's the obvious ones (Ladder matches, matches with Diesel) but I'm surprised that his matches with Bret in '93 haven't gotten more than a passing mention. I know Bret could carry a broomstick to a *** match by that point but Hall did his fair share of work. Honestly, I can't remember many good matches in WCW but the ladder match with Goldberg at Souled Out '99 was kind of fun and I vaguely recall some decent matches with Ric Flair in '97ish. Some of the most memorable angles he was involved in? Again outside of the obvious ones (nWo, 123 Kid, Fake IC belt), I really enjoyed the little angle leading up to his match with Bret Hart at Royal Rumble '93 where he knocked the shit out of Owen Hart on Mania. What was his better run; in WCW with the nWo or in WWF as Razor Ramon? WCW by a hair, if only for him being the one to kick of the nWo. WWF was a lot better wrestling-wise though. Providing that he's sober, do you think Hall could still serve a purpose for WWE or TNA, be it in a wrestling or non-wrestling capacity? Sure, if he could stay sober whilst staying in the wrestler, he might serve a purpose as a backstage guy or a part-time wrestler. But as Dana Carvey portraying George H.W. Bush would say "Not gonna happen". I agree with HTQ, for Hall's own good, he should probably call it a career. Do you think Hall has had a lasting impact on the business? Like I said earlier, Hall is a fine example to young, aspiring wrestlers of how to completely fuck up a wrestling career. In-ring wise, I think his legacy lives on with this guy (Seriously watch that first Razor vignette I posted. Razor even spits an apple in someone's face. Hall should sue!)

  4. The Equals- "Baby Come Back"
  5. Bolton ROCKS OUT (and is that Dan Aykroyd at the beginning?)
  6. I'll agree with that sentiment but Nelson isn't metal. Hell, Nelson isn't even hard rock. Nelson is about a half step above soft rock for fuck's sake! You can't much less metal than Nelson. Michael Bolton is more metal than those two!
  7. KOAB, did you see Maven's stint on The Surreal Life? If so, what are you thoughts. He's easily the most obscure "celebrity" I've seen one of those "celebrity" based VH1 reality shows.
  8. I don't think I could ever really say who the greatest one hit wonder of all time is but there's no doubt in my mind that the greatest two hit wonder of all-time is Cameo.
  9. I've thoroughly enjoyed these threads in the WWE and TNA folders so I thought why not start one here? And what better choice to kick this series off than with one of wrestling's most controversial figures, Scott Hall Name: Scott Hall Height: 6'7'' Weight: 280 Age: 49 Debut: October 1984 Accomplishments: 4 time WWF Intercontinental Champion, 2 time WCW U.S. Champion, 7 time WCW Tag Team Champion, WCW Television Champion, Winner of 1997 World War III battle royal, AWA Tag Team Champion, USWA Unified World Heavyweight Champion, WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion, PWI Tag Team of The Year winner (with Kevin Nash), PWI Most Improved Wrestler (1992) Background: Trained by the legendary Hiro Matsuda, Hall made his debut in 1984 for Championship Wrestling in Florida. Hall first came into the national spotlight in 1986 in The AWA, teaming with Curt Hennig and eventually winning the AWA Tag Team titles. Hall left the dying AWA for the somewhat greener pastures of The NWA but his stint there was short-lived. Following a time touring the independent circuit in Florida and Puerto Rico, Hall returned to WCW as The Diamond Stud. Despite an initial push, The Diamond Stud's run was short lived. Just as it appeared Hall's career had fizzled, he joined the WWF in August 1992 as Razor Ramon, a Cuban-American tough guy, modeled after Tony Montana. Ramon became one of the most notable faces of The WWF's New Generation. In 1996, after the much ballyhooed MSG incident, he left the WWF for WCW with his good friend, Kevin Nash. There Hall attained equal if not greater success than he had in the WWF. Most notably, Hall along with Nash launched a hostile takeover of WCW that would lead to the creation of the mega popular nWo. However, Hall's problems with alcohol (which first surfaced in the last part of his run in the WWF) began to overshadow his ringwork. Hall was released from WCW in '00. After short stints in ECW and NJPW, Hall rejoined the WWF as part of an nWo revival alongside Kevin Nash and Hollywood Hogan. Again, Hall's personal problems overshadowed his wrestling and he was released by the WWF. In the six years since his last run in the WWF, Hall's had short, turbulent stints in TNA and WWC (where he returned to The Razor Ramon moniker). Points For Discussion: How much do you think his personal problems have affected his career? Do you think Hall was ever main event material? What effect has his membership in The Kliq had on his career and his legacy? What were some of Hall's best matches? Some of the most memorable angles he was involved in? What was his better run; in WCW with the nWo or in WWF as Razor Ramon? Providing that he's sober, do you think Hall could still serve a purpose for WWE or TNA, be it in a wrestling or non-wrestling capacity? Do you think Hall has had a lasting impact on the business? 10. Clearly all of that medical marijuana is having an effect on KOAB. A thread about Maven!?
  11. Looks more like Donal Logue of Grounded For Life semi-fame to me.
  12. About half of the time I have Mac and Cheese, it's as a main dish or as some kind of co-main dish. Maybe it's just me but I have a feeling there are some people who will back me up on this.
  13. What are your thoughts on working for the short lived WWA and wrestling your then-wife Luna Vachon? What are your thoughts on Vince Russo?
  14. Mac and Cheese (My pick at this point for winner though I'm still not sure whether it qualifies as a side dish) Garlic Bread (I like cheddar biscuits but they're one of those foods that's almost better in moderation. I could eat Garlic Bread for weeks without getting sick of it) French Fries (Closest battle of this round. I went with fries cause they're a senimental favorite) Couscous (White rice is just too bland for me to give it another vote)
  15. Robert Palmer- "Sneakin' Sally Through The Alley"
  16. Since Dandy can't clear his own name, I'll stand up for my boy and say that he didn't technically break character since it was I who posted the roundtable.
  17. As of this moment, in no particular order Roxy Music- "If There Is Something" Wings- "Let Me Roll It" Bob Dylan- "Isis" John Lennon- "Oh Yoko" The Clash- "Train in Vain" Bruce Springsteen- "Racing in The Street" The Zombies- "I Love You" Darondo- "Didn't I" David Bowie- "Word on a Wing" The Rolling Stones- "She Was Hot" Again, a weird list. Who else has a post Tattoo You Rolling Stones song on their list, huh?
  18. We could have a drinking game where we'd take a shot every time he said "HOOOOOOO!" or "Tough guy!" Actually, didn't he do commentary for WWF in the early 90s? Maybe I'm just confusing him with Jim Neidhart or I'm just thinking of him being one of the panelists during the later years of PTW but I swore he did commentary for one of the syndicated shows for like a minute and a half. You can't do much worse than Admale though and Duggan isn't doing anything...
  19. Link "In what has to be the largest undertaking that the National Wrestling Alliance has attempted for as far back as I can recently recall, they are running an event on Saturday 6/7 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Sid Vicious, who recently worked an NWA Wrestling Showcase TV taping in Rhode Island, is the biggest name announced for the Georgia event thus far. The only other name I've heard is Rob Conway, who's been regularly appearing on the Dish Network's Showcase series that Jon Hewett recaps here on PWInsider.com. Tickets for the event range from $52 down to $17 and there is currently an online pre-sale using password ATLANTA. The show is being designed to launch a 14 month celebration of the National Wrestling Alliance's 60th anniversary. I am under the impression they will be curtailing the venue to fit their means, not opening the entire arena up." This could be the biggest disaster since UWF's Blackjack Brawl. Philips Arena is a 20,000 seat venue. Sid couldn't sell that out in his prime let alone a decade past it.
  20. My predictions for WrestleMania 25; World title match Randy Orton Vs CM Punk WWE title match John Cena Vs Batista
  21. Battlebowl is an idea that is better in theory than execution IMO. There's never really any chemistry behind the teams and the whole thing just felt thrown together at the last minute outside of a few matches. However like you, I wouldn't mind them reviving the idea for a three hour RAW. Like I said, I like the concept but I don't like the way WCW pulled it off. Incidentally, I kind of liked Slamboree '96. Then again, I haven't seen it in ten years and when I last saw it I was a massive mark.
  22. Yeah I kind of figured as much after he said he wasn't going to try for Letterman's job after he retires. That's too bad because while Conan is probably the funniest late night host, Ferguson is IMO the most talented. It's good that he'll be getting some more exposure after Conan leaves because if the box office reciepts for Taxi and Fever Pitch are any indictation than I don't see many people staying with NBC at the 12:30 slot after Conan move up.
  23. I've had the rare mediocre fry but the only truly awful fries I've had were Shaw's brand frozen fries. Then again Shaw's brand anything is bound to suck. Their soda sucks, their frozen pizza really sucks. Their cookies are ace though, almost makes up for all the crap they produce.
  24. Eh, it looks mediocre but I'm not entirely upset. Chick flicks tend to do really well this time of year for some reason. Is there any explanation for chick flicks doing really well in April, Bob? My only theory is women want to get to theaters before they're overstuffed with nerds seeing the summer blockbusters.
  25. I love Raven but he doesn't really belong on the list. He has some popularity sure but drawing power? Eh, an argument could be made but not a very good IMHO and I doubt there are any non-fans who could recognize him. The only non-wrestling appearence he made that I can think of was in that Stuck Mojo music video and that was kind of obscure (Sorry Laz).
