X5 and X6 don't make you select one guy at the beginning that you're "stuck" with through the entire game. You can pick either one at the beginning of x5. However, picking X gives you the armors from X4 right off the bat, so there's no reason to start at Zero, really. In X6 you must start with X, but you can get Zero damn quickly.

It isn't necessarily that--it could be incredible if done right. However, a non-linear game with one huge, interlocking environment really could use a good map to make it fun to navigate. Imagine if Super Metroid and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night had no maps. Now imagine if they were in 3D.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within may have the worst map system ever. If not, close to it. It's just a big poster of the island. Objectives are marked on there, but you don't get a compass, it doesn't show layout of traveled areas, and it doesn't show your little picture of the Prince as having moved at all until you've traveled quite a distance. Take a wrong turn and you may end up saving in an area where you shouldn't have gone...and probably have to take a looooong detour to get back where you need to be.

Things like that are why nearly everyone likes X1 the best (and why Capcom remade it for PSP), and no--the other games aren't like that. You can get alternation level versions in X6...but it's not cool like that. "I think Mega Man 2 was the worst for that though. Fuck Bubble Lead." The Metal Blade was the best Robot Master weapon ever, though, which more than made up for it.

Ah, consistency. Of course, you do rank X5 above X6. You basically get the best armors in X5 at the beginning of the game if you start with X, or via code (Ultimate) anyway.

Elec Man? A robot named Metal Man? Your argument sucks. It seems lots of people hate X5, but never really give any good reasons for it.

Why would anyone rank x6 over x5? And x7 has the single worst design with Tornado Tonion, but McWhalen is impossible to defense. Izzy Glow was just an old guy. Half of the x6 designs were really awful though, although the non-maverick guys were ok. And X5 had Dynamo, don't forget.

The the Castlevania Double Pack will indeed be released, and it will indeed be Harmony of Dissonance + Aria of Sorrow. I was in a Gamestop today that had it on a poster.
