  1. I assume this would be multi. I'd be interested, seeing as how I haven't really done much with my XBL additions from TSM (or Wii additions, unsurprisingly).
  2. I got my game and sent my game already.
  3. Bump because NiGHTs ships To-morroWii! for North America. So, will this game be a brilliant update or expansion to the NiGHTs series, proving that Iizuka is good for something after all? Will it be so godawful I'll simply have to get myself to update the Sega stupidity thread with this and a few more items, as I'd promised should it suck? Or will it just be kinda ok? Currently the only two reviews available are Nintendo Power and EGM, and one of them is a darn good looking 9.0 while the other is a TOTALLY NOT BAD ON THE EGM/1UP SCALE [ / delusional Sonic-Team-loving fanboy ] 7.2. Considering advance reviews tend to skew on the higher side, the jury's in deliberations. Anyone brav--easily marketed out of 49.99 + applicable sales taxes enough to buy this on release? Or have you put it in your Gamefly queue/plan to rent ASAP? I'll be in the latter group.
  4. I also own the Genesis collection, I'm not wild on shmups, have all the Genesis Sonics in multiple forms, all of the Zeldas, the SNES heavy-hittings (Super Metroid, Super Punch Out, Mario Worlds, Super Mario RPG, Star Fox, Actraiser, etc). I also have the Fatal Fury Battle Archives, don't care about Art of Fighting, etc. EDIT: I also have Cybernator for SNES, which just came out on Virtual Console. If somebody gets a dupe of a game they want on cartridge and don't want the VC, they can choose to return it, of course, but I'd say then the gifter should perhaps try again or see if there's a wish list for that person.

If the specs were shrouded in mystery, that'd be one thing. Except even Miyamoto and Co. admit it. Yeah, there's many other Wii deficiencies that do affect gameplay.

Did you say, "why yes, I'll refund your opened purchase because you didn't research it very well, if it all." If you know what an HD TV is and what it does, and ever saw a Wii advertisement, press release, or read anything about the system, you have no excuse. That man fails as a customer.
  7. I'm disappointed they've yet to confirm Cap'n Falcon.

    Xbox 360

No, there's the occasional free icons and themes and then the paid ones. There's no previews available, but all of the current Xbox Original avatars and themes are free, and most tv show/movie ones are free. Paying to download icons and themes is for chumps, though. I'll probably stick with my panda bear until MS kills that stupid practice.

Even 360 peripherals die young now.

Let's not be vague. Off the top of my head, I can think of: -Control schemes for 3rd person titles don't really offer controllable camera, or do so with very unsatisfactory results (using the + pad in RE4, for instance). -shortage of face buttons means mapping functions to motion controls are often less of a luxury, more of a necessity. -Doesn't come bundled with a "traditional" controller, must be purchased extra. -Once you get past the novelty of holding the controller sideways and using it to play NES virtual console games, the d-pad's usefulness seriously comes into question. The best use of it has been using the directions as extra buttons, like when switching gadgets in Twilight Princess. Plenty of Joneses paid 600 dollars for an iPhone (not to mention whatever the going rate is for whats-their-faces' cell phone contracts), so that in and of itself isn't surprising.

This, right here, is the single biggest problem with the Wii userbase, the single biggest cockblock for a decent flow of quality 3rd party releases, and what I feel is stifling the potential of the system and its future.

Retail work at Christmas sucks? I had no idea. I'm glad you're not taking it seriously, because I was thinking the same thing and I felt like an asshole about it. I say to refuse to sell any Wiis to somebody who isn't going to buy Mario Galaxy, Zack and Wiki, or Metroid Prime 3 like right then and now with the system.
  14. I do. But I worry her style is too "convoluted" for this "return to form," and we'll probably get (only) that other Alpha schoolgirl at most. =/ For no apparent reason they put the story about Poison and his/her/hir censorship-prompted changes. Pointless Shane article filler or a hint at an unannounced character? Your call.
  15. I got the EGM issue. I've learned the following (quotes are Ono quotes, italics are word-for-word from EGM; not quotes by Ono himself: -SFIV producer Yoshinori Ono oversaw Capcom Fighting Evolution. He also knows it sucks and basically apologized for it. -He wants it to be the "second coming of Street Fighter II." -He believes its important to look back at SF2 and see what players enjoyed about the game. -He believes that successive iterations were hurt by convoluted gameplay systems and unfamiliar characters. -He's concerned with attracting casual SF2 players to the game. -Consoles not named, but Ono wants it on as "many platforms as possible". -DLC hinted at, but nothing even close to a clear plan or direction (yay!). -Wants the game's art design to evoke the impression of a moving painting. -The ink blot/sumi-e effects will be used somewhat presentation-wise (cinemas, intros, etc), but likely not during gameplay. -Gameplay is completely 2--there will be no sidesteps, 8 way run, or anything like that. Side-view, one-on-one, traditional Street Fighter. -The plan is to get as many of the original SF2 characters into the game as possible, and feels that SF3 dumping most of the old roster may have betrayed the audience. -The game is supposedly 2% complete at most. -Chun Li isn't going to look as ridiculous as she did in Third Strike, but the character designer is "into thick girls" and plans to go in that direction without going overboard. -Anya so freaking called this.
  16. Lame. There's like absolutely no difference between content offered between US and Canada Wiishops. I'm in USA. I second death or banning of anyone who gives Urban Champion.
  17. Sounds fair to me.
  18. Something that may need to be kept in mind for the non-North-American posters: probably you can't gift VC games cross-region, so luke-o who is in Europe or UK may only be able to exchange from another person on that region.
  19. That sounds fair. Probably the VC 24th release, if there is one, will be something huge everyone will want to get anyway.
  20. Attention gamers scavenging for cheap gifts (like, for you): http://kotaku.com/gaming/r%27i%27p%27/comp...ores-332175.php I have no CUSA's near me, but may be useful to some.

Wait, seriously?? People actually tried to earn the money that way? Is it even possible to run long enough to get the money you need? Yeah, putting something heavy on the d-pad/taping it down. Yes, I'm not joking. Seriously, there were posters on NeoGAF bitching about that; they're gamers who should have known better.
  22. Count me in. Question, though--when would we be doing the gifting? Come xmas time or sooner? There may be a big game to come in the next few weeks. My current games: Gunstar Heroes Mario 64 Beyond Oasis Devil's Crush Alien Crush Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past Bonk's Adventure DKC DKC2 : Diddy's Kong Quest Splatterhouse Castlevania Super CV4 Dragon's Curse Kirby's Adventure The lack of Zelda is due to me owning every Zelda game on the service in at least 2 other forms, BTW. I also own most of the great games available on the channel in other forms. All of the Sonics, Mario Kart, Super Metroid, etc. It might be tricky to not end up with dupes for some people.

Japanese No More Heroes release doesn't seem to be a big hit. Yet another symptom of console gaming being in its death throes in Japan in favor of mobile and portables?
  24. It's actually gotten better. The first Spike Awards, they announced the GOTY at the top of the show, and it was Madden. Non-360 games got little/no attention, from what I understand. It seems like a ginormous ad for the 360 rather than any semi-legimate award show.
