Schilling's earned a merit badge for his performance tonight so far. And the Sox are doing what they should have done in 2 in regards to Lieber; make him throw a bunch of pitches while the Yankees are a bit overanxious (Matsui swinging at the first pitch earlier, as an example).
So how long do you think Lieber and Schilling will be in now? I think Schilling's good for 1, maybe 2 more innings, same with Lieber.
I would say Wake for game 7 also. That guy could pitch all seven games if he had to.
A rainout would actually benefit both teams, since those bullpens need a day off, and you gotta think everyone's exhausted from playing 11 hours of baseball over the last 24 hours. Plus, it'll give the Sox one more day to decide if pitching Schilling is really a good idea (since I'm still weary of that).
It's fun to watch an AS meltdown.
I'm not sure if Rivera gets a BS. Probably not since Gordon put the runners on. It'll be like K-Rod getting the game 3 loss when Washburn gave up the winning HR.
Didnt you say the same thing last night?
He's what we scholars call "jumpus conclusis".
He also said the Pats' win streak was over about 5 times this season, and declared them dead two weeks into last season (I can dig up the quotes).
Only the Patriots could commit a interference penalty in the end zone with no time left, and then stuff the team on the one yard line anyway to kick that one last bit of sand in their face.
They now have tied the "official" consecutive wins streak (regular season only) with 17.
Bethel Johnson with a sick catch to put the Pats deep in Seattle territory. They always do this; let the team come back and then do something to put it away. Seattle challenged, and lost a TO.
Does this team ALWAYS have to make games close? Can't they just put Seattle away already?
And have the Seahawks forgotten how to catch? Six drops today.
So what happens to people who had tickets for Friday? If there's no game on Monday, do they get a refund? The Sox will probably have to cough up some dough, or they'll have some pretty pissed off people to deal with.
A Pats loss won't affect me much since, you know, they have to lose sometime. And Seattle's a good team, anyway.
Yes, I'm bringing NFL talk in here. Something to take my mind off things while the Jack Daniels takes effect.
The Higher Power angle?
The Yankees offense has just been hitting EVERYTHING in this series (Matsui especially, who is now my pick for MVP of the series). And he's playing the Wall pretty well, something he's had trouble with.
Just end it tomorrow, guys. Drag em' behind the shed and pull the trigger.
Go Pats!
I haven't encountered a single serious bug with my copy. The season stats said one of my linebackers was second on the team in pass receptions, but that's about it.
