  1. And Damon hits ANOTHER damn homer. He can look like Grizzly Adams all he wants if he's going to produce like this.
  2. But really, the Sox can't continue to play this shoddy defense. You've seen what happens when they DON'T have the offense to cover for all the unearned runs (which includes six more tonight)
  3. Really, the Pride are the SFBL equivalent of the Red Sox. Can't believe how badly they blow it in key situations. Of course, nothing will beat having the opposing team put a 20 spot on the board in Game 7 of the championship series.
  4. Dammit Remy, ya missed a golden opportunity there. It must be law that when Kenny Rogers is getting shelled and the manager comes to yank him out, the announcer must, MUST say "you gotta know when to hold em' and know when to fold em'." I will NOT back down from this. Wasdin is IN!!!
  5. Yep.....abandon hope all ye who want a pitcher's duel.
  6. I'm sensing a slugfest at Fenway tonight. WAY BACK WASDIN!!!! *marks*
  7. And CUE the Lowe-down. Congrats to the Ortiz's too. Judging by the father, that kid didn't come out easily.
  8. And Damon adds another homer to his night. But didn't he just shave about a month or so ago? I swear, the guy was clean-shaven for a DAY or so, and it already started growing back.
  9. Sarcasm? My detector is broken.
  10. This brings up an interesting dilemma for the new Iraqi government: should they allow groups like this target the insurgents and do the dirty work for them a bit, or will this create more trouble than it's worth? Me, I'm not sure. I mean, it's great that some people are on our side (relatively) when it comes to people like al-Zaraqawi, but I really don't know if "vigilante justice" is what the Iraqi government needs right now as they try to build legitimacy with the people.
  11. I'm too lazy to create a new thread for the week, so I just re-named this one.
  12. It did. It's just that some Floridians were too fucking braindead to ask for help when they couldn't understand the ballot.
  13. Are the Sox going to leave the bases loaded in EVERY game now?
  14. Keep it civil, guys.
  15. Dang, almost got to 20. Let the bidding begin.
  16. Jeter's hurt now? Great, this game got even better (he's on my fantasy team and was finally giving me some return). Can't even beat a rookie.... What is it, three weeks until Patriots camp starts? I'm not watching these guys for a second until they get their heads out of their ass. And give Kevin Millar his walking papers TOMORROW!!
  17. I knew it. Wild Card, our only hope. I'd put the Pedro-Clemens duel from 2000 (where Nixon won it with a 2-run HR in the 9th) WAAAY above this one.
  18. Everything after I came in, which was probably around 11:30, before we got 34 people in there.
  19. Did anyone save that chat? This fucking moron closed the window a second before I thought of it.
  20. Oh? Offensively he is damn good but since we're in a NL park this year, and hence, no DH, Ortiz has a slim chance of making the team unless Torre puts him on the squad as a reserve.
  21. So the AL East is all but settled right now, unless the team as a whole gets off it's ass and realizes it is underachieving badly right now. And I now agree with FS: trade Nomar by the end of the month. He doesn't want to be here? Fuck him. *Sigh* when does NFL training camp start?

    You bastards.

Hey just an idea. This board is big enough with enough of different topics to discuss that I would think everyone would find a subject they would like to talk about.
  23. I really hope the players get as pissed off over this loss as the fans will. I don't want Francona going on the radio and saying "Oh well, Ortiz just had a bad night, we'll get em' tomorrow with Kevin Millar batting in the cleanup spot."
  24. I don't know, it's just frustrating as hell. When you have the bases loaded with NO-ONE out, logic indicates that you should at least get ONE run out of it, even if it's just from a sac fly.
  25. Jesus, teams leave guys on base all the time. EVERY team in baseball leaves guys on base. And despite this LOB "problem," the Sox still manage to score alot of runs. They never do it with consistency, though. For every game they score 12 runs, it seems like the next day they leave 8 guys on base and lose 4-3.
