No, they just support giving people criminal punishment for what they think while committing a crime. MUCH better. -=Mike Such as?

John Titor has the civil war coming up soon. If the next civil war is one without states seceding, it'll probably be the largest civil war of that kind in our history. And I don't buy the "Howard Dean is a wild-eyed evil man who will cause a civil war" stuff. If anything causes a civil war, it'll be the extremes in the political realm

on the Census, you can be White and Hispanic. Hispanic is the only ethnicity listed on the Census, I think.

Denmark - 5,432,335 Finland - 5,223,442 Sweden - 9,001,774 (smaller than I really expected) If Sweden were a state, it would be 9th in population, behind Michigan, in front of New Jersey Finland would be 20th (behind Maryland, in front of Arizona) Denmark would be 18th (behind Missouri, in front of Wisconsin)

Yeah, why else would there be a South Vietnamese flag on that building at Independence and Prospect? And I've seen a Vietnamese restaurant in one part of KC, closer to downtown, north of 24. Actually, the Asian population is 2% in the district (both with the student percentage and the population percentage)

True.. I guess if anything, it's could be from the bottom up (from the Elementary schools upwards). It's not like kids turn into jerkoffs when they get into 9th grade. Random stats from here: http://dese.mo.gov/directory/048078.html The total dropout rate was twice the state rate in 2004. The White dropout rate was four times the state rate. The Hispanic dropout rate was almost twice the state rate. The graduation rate is consistantly 20 percent under the state rate (in the 60 percent area). The breakdown of the people living in the district is as follows White, not Hispanic - 43% Black - 42% Hispanic - 10% (blame the weird census stats for the numbers not adding to 100) The breakdown of people going to school in the district in 2004 White - 15% Hispanic - 15% Black - 68%

Not too much of a stunner. The KC School District is lousy, especially since the state refused to let the KCSD join with other districts in newly annexed parts of Kansas City (therefore explaning Hickman Mills and Center) Northeast is a lousy part of town (a lot of Mexican restaurants though) Southwest had the reputation for doing stuff like that before too Van Horn (while in Independence) was pretty damned lousy too

I thought the testimony from the guard about Jackson sucking the boy's nipples was worse than the Culkin stuff -

So, doing what Pelosi did is the same as what DeLay did with his PAC? Basically, Tom DeLay is cleansed of his sins, due to the sins of others? And Tom DeLay worked in the field of 'killing pests' (exterminator) before he went into politics.
-
"This is not the corrupt Republican leader you are looking for" It's not unusual for a Congressman to be accused of accepting a trip to South Korea from foreign agents, run a PAC accused to paying large amounts of money to family members, and take a trip supposedly paid for by Russian lobbyists. And if you think otherwise, remember.. lookoverthere!it'sdemocratsandtheyarebadpeople!!!! is it unusual to be admonished multiple times by the ethics committee? and we can all be sure that since this is all just a bunch of lies, that Tom DeLay will now be suing the New York Times and Washington Post for libel. I'm not going to question Mike's ideas on ethics in Government. Since Watergate was just a mere third-rate burglary and not much more than that. But yeah. How many more scandals will DeLay make it though before he goes from being "The Exterminator" to "The Cockroach"?

The latest twist in the Schiavo case.......

File this under "tying up loose ends" from the Washington Post -
Conservatives are giving Gay people tax breaks by not allowing them to be married to each other, because if they were, they would be subject to a marriage tax. Nah, that's probably not it. But it involves a lot of benefits. And in Kansas, they just voted to take benefits away from single people with kids by passing this amendment. Whoops
-
Well, Missouri had a higher percentage of people voting Yes on the marriage amendment than Kansas. But Douglas County (Lawrence, Kansas) voted no by a huge margin, 63-37 against the amendment

Fear the Tiara! And is it just me, or does John Paul I look a lot like Tom Bosley?
