Oops..... Salim is more clutch than J.J.

I'm torn on this topic. Ripper I respect you for what you say, usually it's what some of us are thinking and just won't say it. As far as the injury goes, at 40 it will be much harder to come back. Its the reason why normal people say it hurts a little more getting out of bed after 30 or so. As far as injuries go the only real one I had was in college, I tore ligaments in my ankle in late February before our tennis season started (I know real contact sport!) Anyway, it is tough because you want to go out there and perform at your best, but injuries to ankles and knees are used in all little movements. Barry does not want to come out and struggle, for his personal pride and he would get bashed that he is not doing as well because there is "steroid testing" now. However, I will not throw the media and fans under the bus. Barry makes close to 20 million dollars. In every other job in America, who faces the most scrutiny? It is almost always the person who makes a lot of money. It is a trade off. Barry makes money off of the media too, all of the papers sold and talking heads on TV may increase exposure and larger attendance at home and road games. Is the media negative and have it out for Barry Bonds? Maybe, but they have voted him MVP 7 times. If they really had it out for Bonds, Albert Pujols would have some MVP's As far as the San Francisco Chronicle, 80% of me says F.U. to them for delving into the personal issues, but at the same time steroid use (illegal, though currently unknowingly), tax evasion (illegal) and having a girlfriend while married (illegal) are issues that make Barry less sparkling. I know that stuff should be done in house, and I don't "live the life" so I wouldn't understand, but it still doesn't make it right. And I agree, Barry Bonds is a Top 5 all-time player.

Looks like WVU thinks 62 is enough to win based on their last three possessions.
-
Me too, Davis was my first choice. Sorry when I went to bed last night there were still 3 picks ahead of me. I'll pick Rounds 2-4 and leave a PM list.
-
The biggest shame is that it'll be a national game on ESPN, all of North America has to suffer.
-
I still think GW should have been a 10 seed at the lowest. As far as GTech, I think they just have better athletes and a bigger front court, GW is gonna have to play their best game to beat them.
-
Miami-OH will not be the last team out.

America East: Vermont ACC: Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, NC State A-10: George Washington A-Sun: Central Florida Big 12: Oklahoma State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, Texas, Iowa State Big East: Syracuse, Boston College, UConn, Villanova, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Notre Dame Big Sky: Montana Big South: Winthrop Big Ten: Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan State, Minnesota, Iowa Big West: Utah State, Pacific CAA: Old Dominion C-USA: Louisville, Cincinnati, Charlotte Horizon: UW-Milwaukee Ivy: Penn MAAC: Niagara MAC: Ohio, Buffalo MCC: Oakland MEAC: Delaware State MVC: Creighton, Southern Illinois MWC: New Mexico, Utah NEC: Farleigh Dickinson OVC: Eastern Kentucky Pac-10: Washington, Arizona, Stanford, UCLA Patriot: Bucknell SEC: Florida, Kentucky, Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State Southern: UT-Chattanooga Southland: SE Louisiana SWAC: Alabama A&M Sun Belt: UL-Lafayette WAC: UTEP, Nevada WCC: Gonzaga, St. Mary’s I think Notre Dame gets the last spot over DePaul & UAB. Notre Dame has a lot of good conference wins, but very bad losses too. Interesting that DePaul beat Notre Dame earlier as well.

Leavin' for Panama City FL on Friday
Gert T replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in No Holds Barred
Hey so he may not have seen the post, but you have proven that Frommer's has nothing on you when it comes to Panama City. I also like the extra money for the jail-car problems-kicked out of hotels scenarios. Those are the three musketeers of road trips. -
Maybe, but the high energy style that GW plays with may knock them on their asses if they don't shoot well like they did against Xavier and the St. Joe's regular season game. That being said I'll be rooting hard for them as the sole A-10 rep.
-
GW will get some respect for winning the A-10 West and the conference tourney, but it comes on a rebuilding year for many teams in the A-10. I refuse to call it a down year, because next year there will be 4-5 teams back in the tourney. (Dayton, X & St. Joe's lost a lot from their 2004 teams) GW will be a 9 seed, if I had to guess.
-
Well hopefully Dayton's 108 RPI is really around 35. I always thought something didn't seem right in Miami (OH) and their RPI staying in the 20's despite their collapse down the stretch.
-
Utah State winning would be great, it'd make a long night for a lot of teams.
-
Which makes it even weirder that he lives with them. The most annoying character on TV is...... Peggy Hill Close the thread.

The committee doesn't look at just one weekend. Simple as that. All winning a conference tournament does is get you a few more good wins which might elevate you past another team. But the mere fact that you won your conference tournament doesn't put you ahead of better teams. But it can also get you three or four more wins in the "last 10" category that the committee likes. That Ohio-Buffalo game was fantastic, one of the best of the day, and yes it looks doubtful Buffalo will get in now. It's funny, since the MAC has two teams (Miami-OH & Buffalo) as their second option with one not having a tremendous edge over the other, they'll probably end up with only one team.
-
Most ridiculous jump ball call I've seen in my life in the UNC-GT game, fortunately is doesn't look like it'll affect the outcome.
-
To be quite honest I think they deserve a #5 seed regardless. If they are a #6 seed I would hate to be the #3 in the second round.
-
"All glory is fleeting." Although this isn't the time to debate I will not throw my hands up and praise the soon to be 16 team Big East basketball division. They'll carve that up in less than 10 years. Great win by Louisville, they remind me of Arizona, I could see a great tourney run, but a Saturday or Sunday loss on the first weekend may be just as likely.
-
Tice would be cool with that since you probably get more tickets if your team makes the Super Bowl.
-
The three week turnover from RR probably didn't help either. I would also agree with the sentiment that you need to hype more than 2 matches until the week before the show. Or maybe they knew the 3 matches they made the Thursday before the PPV weren't gonna swing many buys.
-
3 or 4 rounds. If we do four I'll stick around.
-
If Oklahoma wins the Big 12 tournament, it helps them for a few reasons. Auto bid Committee loves big conference champion winners It increases their winning % in the last 10 games which the committee also loves.
-
No, Corey got screwed because he ran his mouth and Marvin Lewis called him out and took out the game tape in front of Corey and the O-Line.
-
When was the part Hurley was seen on TV? I didn't see it, but I can always go back.

This is like the Mega-Powers at WM V! With Ric Flair playing the part of Miss Elizabeth, although we know his heart is true.
