angle: Best Team in AL plays best team in NL. Novel concept Can easily be disputed considering both teams had to go to Game 7 with their opponents, suggesting that they may NOT be the best teams in their leagues. And again, Angels vs. Giants last year supposedly had the Best team in the NL vs. the Best team in the AL angle. And how well did that do ? And how much did you care ? Sure, it's a concept. Just not a very good one. Not when it's been the same way for decades and decades - and features two teams from the East Coast, one of which has only a few thousand actual fans. But wait, I'm overlooking the fact that the YANKEES ARE IN THE WORLD SERIES!! THAT'S NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE !!! WOOOO!!! That completely overshadows the fact that this is a series with no story, and the least amount of fanbase out of the four combos.

Er....you love to put words in people's mouths, don't ya? Never cried about not having the apocalyptic World Series. Sure, it would have been nice, but it's not happening. What I DON'T like though is that, out of 4 possibilities, this was the worst combination. Sox/Cubs - The most interesting and entertaining one, in my opinion. Yankees/Cubs - The Evil Empire Powerhouse vs. America's Underdog team. Can Chicago end decades of suffering for their fans? Sox/Marlins - Can the Sox break the curse of the Bambino? Or will they choke again against the Marlins? Yankees/Marlins......I don't see a story. Wait, here we go. The Team Nobody Likes vs. The Team Nobody Cares About. There we go. To be fair, you can't deny that compared to the craziness of Cubs/Marlins, and the insanity and excitement of Sox/Yankees, that this is kind of a letdown. Hell, it might be a good series - but so was Angels/Giants. And nobody gave a fuck about that either. It's sad. Agreed. But that's the way it is. I don't have sour grapes about the Cubs and the Sox losing - but I can't fake enthusiasm for a series that doesn't have a story and that Fox or Major League Baseball doesn't even look like it cares about.

Sadly, I don't think many Yankee haters even care anymore. The playoffs were so awesome that the World Series not only seems anti-climactic, but lacking any kind of - you know, interesting hype. It sucks, but it's the truth. I know I couldn't care anymore - which is sad, considering how hyped I was for the rest of the playoffs. Let's go Marlins. I hate Yankees. Blah, blah - but like the rest of the country, excluding Yanks and Marlins(all true 100 of them) fans, I just couldn't give a damn.

Actually, the first photo is taken from the Associated Press, and they have come out and said that the picture has not been altered in any way. And the third picture was taken right off of CNN, and wasn't altered either. Snopes.com: Faces in the Cloud That second one, I've never seen before. It also takes a little time to grasp what you are actually looking at, unless the outline is shown to you before. So, while the second one is pretty damn strange once you see the pattern, you do have to search for it a little.

Well, this thread was a rousing success Sorry, but Goldberg isn't near as good as RVD. Hell, I'd go as far to say that Orton>Goldberg. Sad, but true.

So basically he does nothing is what you're saying. Wait....wait....no, scratch that. He also occasionally gets his fat ass rolled along the field when he starts thinking he's tougher than he actually is, not to mention 40 years younger. Gotcha.
-
So Ted Williams is responsible for booking such awesome playoffs series, then making it as anti-climactic as he could with Yankees/Marlins in the World Series? Figures. He must have learned some of his booking lessons from Vince.

Game 7. World Series on the line. Shouldn't be Pedro's decision anymore. You have to take it into your own hands, as the manager, and make a well-informed decison. Little didn't do that. He's probably scared shitless of Pedro so he let him make the decison. And Pedro, having the unbelievably inflated ego that he has, wouldn't have left the game for anything. So he wound up blowing it. Seriously, almost NO pitcher would have left the game at that point. Little has to stand up as the manager and make an important decision. But he didn't, and he is chiefly responsible for the loss tonight. How can you blame the guy for sticking with his number one pitcher, even after the pitcher says he is fine. I'll call you all a wahmbulence. Because he had already thrown 120 pitches, which is more than he's thrown in a LONG time, and it was clear that he was getting tired. Of course the pitcher is going to say he's fine because he wants to be considered responsible for getting the team out of his jam. Little needs to take a hard look at the facts and realize "Pedro is too tired. We have to take him out." But he chose to take the pussy way out, not wanting to offend Pedro, and now Boston's going home.

Grady Little should be fired. Period.

No, no, you're overestimating that. I am as passionate as a Yankee Hater can possibly get, and I will not be tuning into a second of the World Series. I'm sure many will be doing the same thing because the fact is, Yanks and Marlins just aren't on the same level.
-
As a manager, you NEED to know when to take out Pedro. The man usually doesn't pitch past 6 innings....and now he's throwing 120 pitches ?! WHAT ?! Fucking insane - especially since you had other quality pitchers waiting to throw. It was like he didn't even turn on the Cubs/Marlins Game 6 game. SAME EXACT SITUATION - and unsurprisingly, Little fucked up. I blame him entirely.
-
What an inspiring Yankee fan you are. First 6 innings was "Yankee suck tonight. Woe is me. End the Game." Now, after you've showed absolutely no fucking confidence in your team, you're going to celebrate. Ah, fair-weather, front-running fan you are, my friend. Congratulations, you are part of the 90% of front-running Yankee fans. How soon until you start counting the gloom and doom in the Marlins series?
-
I would fucking fire Grady Little tonight. Some of the stupidest god damn plays during the series - and then he was TOO FUCKING SCARED TO TAKE PEDRO OUT WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE. The Sox didn't lose that game. LITTLE LOST THE GAME. WHERE THE FUCK WAS HE DURING GAME 6 CUBS/MARLINS?! Holy shit, two depressing series ends. Yankees/Marlins.... What did baseball fans do to deserve this?? Ah, well, baseball's now off my TV until April.
-
Little is responsible for this fucking loss!! Did he not even bother to watch Game 6 Cubs/Marlins ?! Oh, what a fucking IDIOT !!! GOD DAMMIT!!!
-
I knew they shouldn't have left so many runners on base. Some insurance runs for the Sox DESPERATELY need to be brought in right now.
-
They all shaved their heads to prove they were a unified team, I think. Problem is, some of those guys really shouldn't be having bald heads.
-
One can only hope this is the last time we see that headhunting asshole pitch again.
-
Am I the only one that feels this is one of the lamest ribs heard of in a while? Wow, Brock, you said Bradshaw came from New York ! You sure got his number, haw haw !!

I was there for.... NON-WRESTLING -The Blackout of 2003 -The Blizzards of 1996 and 2003 -Mo Vaughn hitting the longest homerun in Shea Stadium history WRESTLING -The Kliq Curtain Call at MSG -The HHH/Rock Ladder Match - which many consider their Superstar building match - at SummerSlam 1998 -A Smackdown in Summer of 2000, main-evented with Triple H/Kurt Angle vs. Rock/Undertaker. Also the first time Rock called Kevin Kelly a hermaphrodite. -The return-match of Shawn Michaels at SummerSlam 2002, along with Brock Lesnar's first WWE Title win
-
Yeah, I'm rooting for the Sox. Got to end SOME curse this year. Otherwise, we get Yankees/Marlins. And besides Yanks fans and Marlins fans, NOBODY wants to see that.
-
If Boston doesn't win, the World Series will be one of the most depressing ones in recent memory. And I know I won't turn on a second of it. The Team Nobody Likes vs. The Team Nobody Cares About -WHAT A WORLD SERIES, BY GAWD!!
-
Yep, it is a shame I'm not a Cubs fan, but I could feel for them considering what they've gone through the past 3 games. I can just imagine how sickening it is for them. And now they get to say "There's always next year." Ugh, sucks.
-
Man, the Sox/Cubs World Series dream is still alive.
-
Must have been Nomar's fault. Apparently, everything bad that happens to the Sox now is Nomar's fault. Not the man that is managing the team.
