Ahem....if people around here are on RVD's nuts....then just what in the hell is happening to Benoit ? By my count, people are grabbing his nuts, showering them, powdering them, feeding them grapes, fanning them, and making sure to put a nice, little crown on them. I don't see how you can TELL people to stop liking someone. The truth is, RVD IS one of the most over guys in the company and he HAS been depushed to the point where his spine has caved into his ankle. The man just speaks the truth. And as for the "RVD is high" jokes, man those are FUNNY ! I NEVER get tired of hearing "HAW HAW ! RVD IS HIGH !" Hell, who needs new material when we can recycle the same pot jokes ? How about "HAW HAW ! BENOIT IS ON TRANQUILIZERS !" But nope...guess those aren't fresh enough.

Question. Not to be insensitive or anything, BUT.... Why is it that Goldberg gives Bret a concussion with an accidental kick and it's "ARGH ! GOD DAMMIT ! FUCK GOLDBERG !ARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH !" But when Owen breaks Austin's neck with a careless tombstone, it's "Eh, it was an honest mistake. He shouldn't be known as the man who broke Austin's neck. He's Owen Hart ! Wooo !" Just seems a little hypocritical to me....

Here's the thing. You look at some of RVD's web-journals. Then you look at these articles. They don't add up. Most people can't write in an entirely new style whenever they want, so I don't think that's the answer. If you just look at the journals and these articles, they aren't the same type of writing. Plus, if you ask me, I just don't see RVD as the kind of guy that would really want to get his word out to the IWC. Doesn't seem like his style, ESPECIALLY since he has hated Dave Scherer in the past. I would think the guy has more important things to worry about, like training and preparing for a match. I don't think he has THAT much time on his hands. I think this whole thing is either: a) An extended April Fool's Joke that has been shared between Scherer and Meltzer b) An extended April Fool's Joke from Scotsman c) A smark that has been writing these letters all along d) A different wrestler doing it - but I don't truly think it's that either. Hopefully, WWE won't rush into this making a decision, without knowing all the facts. Plus, in my opinion, it would be fucking STUPID for them to fire one of their most over faces in the entire company, even if he was responsible. But only time wil say...

The only reason RVD has seemed so stale at this point is because he's basically wrestling the same fucking match every week on Raw. Basically, after his match with HBK on Raw, RVD's got nothing, and neither has his fans. If you were to write down a list of RVD's opponents since that day, you'd probably get: 3 Minute Warning (Of course RVD/Kane's archenemies), Lance Storm, William Regal, the Dudleys this past week, Jeff Hardy, and Kane for one week. Nearly all of these matches have been on a team with Kane, which doesn't work for so many reasons. 1. Why is this team together ? Who the fuck knows ? 2. The unlikely tag team would probably seem a lot better and fresher if Booker T and Goldust didn't just spend nearly a year doing it. This is why I think the RVD/Kane thing isn't working out to well. 3. RVD and Kane's styles basically clash too much. 4. THEY HAVE NO ANGLE....AT ALL ! RVD has been given the same opponents for almost 3 months now, and sure, at some point it's going to get really stale. I haven't reached that point yet, but if you're not an RVD fan, I think I can understand. I firmly believe if they put him in say a 2-month feud, WITH A STORY, his whole character would seem fresher. Put him against HHH ( I know, I know ), Jericho, HBK, Booker - any of them. Build a story, and I guarantee RVD will look a whole better and a whole lot fresher. But just to get my opinion in on this matter....it's a crime RVD is not on this card, but a DEBUTING Nathan Jones is. But heh.....I just don't have the genius Vincent K. McMahon does. He DOES know what's best for his company after all, with the whole Vince/Hogan Main Event thing at WrestleMania. Yeah Vince ! SHOW YOUR GENIUS !

I forgot what the match was, but HHH goes over to the announcing table and pulls out a sledgehammer. Lawler: JR, where did he get that sledgehammer ?! Were you hiding it for him ? You were, weren't you ?! JR: GODDAMMIT,BYGAWD,SONOFABITCH,IDIDN'TLEAVEITTHERE,ARRRRRRRGH!!!!! He just let out THE funniest comment that had me laughin hysterical.

I forgot the exact lines, but it was at the end of an episode with that special Ned Flanders short. Chorus: And everyone loves Ned Flanders ! Homer: Not me ! Chorus: Anyone who matters loves Ned Flanders ! ---------------------------(cut to scene) Ned: Okay Rodd, Todd, time to get ready for church. Todd: We're not going to church today, daddy. Ned: What ?! Give me one good reason why not ! Rodd: It's Saturday ! Ned: Ha ha, okily-dokily-do ! ---------------------------------- Chorus: And everyone loves Ned Flanders ! Fox 5 hasn't played that episode in so long ! I'm dying to see that little skit again.

So with all the main matches set...
NYU replied to TheOriginalOrangeGoblin's topic in The WWE Folder
HHH/Booker - Don't kid yourself. Booker ain't winning, so I predict this match happening fairly early in the night, just like HHH/RVD at Unforgiven and HHH/Kane at No Mercy Hogan/Vince Jericho/HBK Angle/Lesnar Austin/Rock -
Am I really the only one who thinks that it's not definite that Kurt Angle will be retiring ? I see him sitting out for a year, healing, then coming back for perhaps 2 or 3 years before finally retiring. That's how I take it when I read these articles, but some of you are SO pessimistic that you're bringing me down. Sure, Kurt's going to say he's preparing to retire - no point jinxing yourself. But I still don't think it's set that Angle is retiring, and I won't think it until Angle says for sure he's retiring.
-
But....but....they can't turn Brock heel ! What will become of all the fans that will follow him to the ends of the earth ? What will happen to them ?! WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THESE FANS ?!
-
Movies don't have to make sense ! If they did, Halloween's Mike Myers wouldn't have died like 17 times already. And oh yeah, just because you mentioned it, I can't fucking stand that Frankie Muniz kid.

The end of that WrestleMania commercial with Angle climbing up the Arena steps always depresses me. He must have been pumped for Main-Eventing Mania, in front of all those fans, and now has to drop the title on Smackdown and be out for a year. Sucks...

I'm confused. Do we know FOR SURE the extent to which Austin actually hit his wife ? I mean, are we talking 2 black eyes, a fat lip, and bruises all over the body ? Or Austin got extremely angry, and gave her a slap on the thigh or something ? Agreed, that it's disgusting he would hit a woman, but don't crucify someone like that when: a) We don't know the extent of the injuries and b) We don't know what provoked it. For all we know, she could have slapped him in the face, he pushed her back, and she called it abuse. Nobody truly knows, so what the hell is all the "Fuck Austin" speculation about ?
-
So let me get this straight.... Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart going for around 62 minutes in an Iron Match is OVERRATED.... But Regal/Storm vs. RVD/Kane, and Regal/Storm vs. Snow/Maven is UNDERRATED.... In the words of the great RVD, "Dude, what are YOU smoking ?!" It just sounds like more HBK-bashing to me....
-
Well, we've already found 2 matches from the past 2 months worse than that one, so I guess it couldn't have been the most boring shit you've ever seen. And not to open a Pandora's Box here BUT....can you say with a straight face William Regal is a better athlete right now than Shawn Michaels ? Regal hasn't had a watchable match in God knows HOW LONG, and the man moves around the ring like he's Hulk Hogan with a broken foot. He's slower than shit, can hardly do anything in the ring worth noting, and has some of the worst finishers in the biz today ( besides Bischoff's heart-punch of doom ) I just find it ironic that you say Michaels is over the hill, when I find him superior to William Regal in every way.
-
That's not saying much. His match at Armageddon was the one of the most boring matches I've ever seen that totally exposed me to how washed up the guy was. HBK should do the job once in his life and then leave and never EVER come back Saying Michaels is one of the ten best wrestlers on Raw IS saying a lot....considering the roster is about 30 guys who SHOULD be better than him...but aren't. And the Armagedddon match was one of the most boring you've seen ? Really ? Worse than.... HHH/Steiner I HHH/Steiner II Rock/Hogan II Undertaker/Big Show NWO ....keep in mind I have found 4 matches....from PPVs....these 2 months....that have been worse than HHH/HBK. If you want, we can go to Raw and Smackdown matches from this year, then PPV and Raw and Smackdown matches from last year to search for matches worse than this Armageddon one. I personally found the Armageddon one pretty good, but people here were too busy bitching about HBK/HHH Main Eventing. Need we look at HBK/HHH SummerSlam ? Awesome match....and the whole SummerSlam forum was full of "Wah, wah, these guys are killing the federation" bullshit. Biases block people from noticing how good some matches are, and I think that was the case here. In no way is HBK as good as he was in 95-97. But god damn, I just don't see the person as being washed up yet.
-
Man, that is SUCH bullshit. Hogan can barely take a fucking bump at this point. If he wanted to climb to the top rope, he would need a forklift.......and a ramp to get up to the forklift. Michaels can still bump ! Look at the fall at Armageddon from the ladder through the tables outside for proof of that. From what I've seen, Michaels STILL has damn good matches. From HHH to the Chamber to RVD to HHH, Michaels is HARDLY the worst wrestler on Raw. In fact, when he DOES wrestle right now, I would put him in the top 10 wrestlers on the Raw brand. I really would. If Michaels thinks it's time, then he should go. But personally, I don't feel his career is over yet. He still has damn good matches, which is more than fucking Scott Steiner. And think about it this way....at a time when wrestlers are getting injured left and right, and WWE NEEDS Main Event wrestlers, isn't it better they keep HBK around for now ? The only reason people hate on HBK right now is because of his past actions - not his current skills. In no way is HBK a Kevin Nash or a Scott Steiner....the guy can still bump and the guy can still wrestle ! I HARDLY think Michaels is a liability at this point

I think you're forgetting the hilarious instance where, after Bubba Ray Dudley submitted to the Walls Of Jericho, JR skipped over the fact that Jericho got him to submit cleanly. Instead he went with: "Damn that Jericho, he got Bubba Ray Dudley to submit. But even though he gave up, Bubba Dudley is BUBBA TOUGH, and don't you forget it !" It almost sparked a revolt on this board
-
*JR walks into the meeting room where Vince and the TV writers are assembled, ready to write up Raw* JR - Hey guys, so what's happening tonight ? I had this idea that Batista could beat Rob Van Dam, and then we'll have Randy Orton beat Booker T after a Triple H run in. Vince - Uh....Jim..... JR - And then we can have The Dudleyz take on 3 Minute Warning and Rico in a handicap match ! Then, Bubba Ray Dudley can take out all 3 guys and beat Rico, because he's Bubba Tough, by gawd ! Vince - JR, we have a problem... JR - Boy, imagine if we put Bubba Ray Dudley against Batista at WrestleMania. Vince, got that ? The Bubba Tough Hoss vs. the Evolution Hoss. That will get the ratings, by gawd ! Vince - JR ! Orton and Batista were injured last night ! JR - Dammit, I knew RVD and Jericho didn't wrestle WWE Style. Send them back down to OVW. Vince - Well, it's not their fault. JR - Fine. Damn that Booker T. By gawd Vince, I told you not to push a blackey, but you went and did it anyway. Have Stone Cold whup his ass tonight. I WANT TO SEE A STONE COLD ASS-WHUPPIN, BY GAWD ! Vince - JR ! The Dudleys did it in their house show match with Batista and Orton. Bubba Ray and D-Von injured both men ! JR - B....Buh.....Bubba Ray ? Vince - Yes JR - Injured Batista ? Vince - Yes ! JR - DAMN D-VON TO HELL ! DAMN HIS SOUL ! DAMN HIS FAMILY ! DAMN HIS CHILDREN ! DAMN HIS AUNT AND UNCLE ! He's bringing down Bubba Ray Dudley ! Oh well, let Nathan Jones take Batista's place on Raw, and we'll get those hosstacular fans, by gawd ! Vince - Ha ha, JR, you did it again ! 5.0 ratings, here we come !

A year ago, I thought Stephanie was seriously THE hottest chick in the federation. But now....I don't know, I just don't like her as much. Her arms are seriously meaty, her boobs are....uniquely-shaped, and she's got a decent-sized gut. Plus, sometimes, certain camera shots make her nose look like a snout. Don't get me wrong, I'd definitely bang her if given the opportunity. But she is nowhere near as hot as she was a year ago.
-
I assumed the welcoming committee was just going to be 3 Minute Warning with Rico. I mean, it's only logical that, if you want to get Austin off to a quick, hot, motivated start, you need to put him against 2 Fat Samoans and a Hair Stylist. It's Common Sense !
-
And yet you want RVD to challenge for the title? RVD is quite the mediocre wrestler himself (and I kinda like RVD). RVD is original. Booker T does shit that has ALL been seen before. Kicks ? Scissors Kick ? Book End that looks exactly like the Rock Bottom ? Whoa ! Let me mark out now ! Booker T vs. HHH at Mania ! Whoop-de-damn-doo ! Booker T IS mediocre. And while RVD is certainly not the best wrestler in WWE, I do find him more entertaining than Booker T. And, if WWE really got behind RVD and let him cut some more promos, I have a feeling he COULD be the most over face in WWE - and not just on Raw, which he is right now. Booker T is certainly not my least favorite wrestler, but I don't see how he is SO much better or SO much more deserving than RVD is of getting this title shot. He's an okay wrestler. Not great. But whoo, he was in WCW, so let me get excited. Hooray ! -----And I know I'm gonna get the "Did you hear the pop Booker T got when he threw out the Rock last night ? He is the most over face !" argument. Well, how much pop did Booker T get when he came out for his tag match ? Good - not great. And when he beat Orton ? Fine - not excellent. RVD is more over. I feel Booker T's pop was more "Yes ! He eliminated Rock ! Rocky sucks !" than "Yes ! Booker T vs. HHH ! I can't wait !" I don't know for sure but that's what I think.

The only thing good about last night was the Rock (and maybe the Jericho/Test/Stacy/HBK angle ). He was just gold on the mic and in the Battle Royal. But nothing else really was all that remarkable. 1) Booker T wins the Battle Royal - Whoop'de'friggin do. This sudden Booker T push comes out of nowhere, and I could care less. I can't understand the Booker T love here, because I think of him as being just a mediocre wrestler. But in the Battle Royal, he didn't look too strong. Besides the Rock, he didn't have any hot comebacks and start kicking some ass. In fact, he got his ass kicked the entire match, and came back at the end to win. Even in his match against Orton/Batista, the man looked pretty weak. The only way he can beat the rookie Orton is by a quick rollup from a crossbody ? This is the man going to WrestleMania ? I can understand Booker T fans going crazy for this push, but for me, a non-Booker T fan, this is still doing nothing for me. I don't see him as a serious Title Contender yet, and I certainly don't see him as a World Champion right now. 2) And of course, I have to mention the disrespect RVD is being shown once again. The man is put on Heat, against god damn Steven Richards, while Kane gets to put on a shitty match against Storm on Raw. Then, we are supposed to think RVD's still mad at Kane yet, in their promo later, they were basically good friends again. Then, in the Battle Royal itself, RVD was thrown out WAY too friggin early. Wasn't he like in the early 5 thrown out?! Meanwhile, Kane stayed in till the end ? WHY ?! Why wouldn't RVD eliminate Kane, like Kane did to him at Royal Rumble ? Wouldn't this only only help the match they'll have at Mania, PLUS actually be building on past history ? Why wouldn't they do that ? Because WWE refuses to give RVD a proper feud and prefers to continue the rapid depush. WWE is dead-set on making sure no one will ever really care about RVD, because he is looking about as good as Team Angle does on Smackdown against Brock. For Booker T fans, I'm sure last night was awesome. But for me, an RVD mark and a neutral Booker T spectator, I didn't think it was good at all. One man is continuously depushed, while one man is being pushed out of nowhere only to lose ( and if you think Booker T is winning at Mania, you got a problem. Need we bring up our "pushes" of RVD and Kane at Unforgiven and No Mercy ?) Raw wasn't bad. But best one in years ? Give me a break !
