By the way, Hawk52 isn't Choken, right? That's Hawk34? Why is it necessary that we have two separate posters both named Hawk with a meaningless two digit number following their name?

128. Chris Benoit took steroids

I like the addition of Rhys Coiro from Entourage. I think he could make a good dickheaded agent if they decide to go that route. It just seems funny to me that they're pretty much dropping every shred of Season 6. All that time we spent with Nadia and Morris and Tom Lennox and Vice President Daniels....that none of them will really be a factor this season.

Obviously, we're a few months before the Season 7 premiere of 24...but there was a press statement released by FOX today that talks about a huge spoiler for the upcoming season. While it does seem a little suspicious, sources like TV Guide and IGN have picked up on it, so I'm going to put the rumor up here for some discussion. Copied from IGN. Read at your own risk. Personally, I'm excited for it.

99. Because Chris Benoit killed his wife and kid.

How Hoff could say 2003 was worse than 2007 just because HE didn't like seeing Steiner and Nash in the Main Events is beyond me. I'd be disgusted if I wasn't so horrified.

You really are getting into Anglesault territory here. I'm not going to say that the Mets aren't close to making my head explode at this point. But wait until the Phillies actually take first place before you write off the entire season. A week ago, this team was looking like the strongest in the majors. The tides can change quickly.
-
That was a really good win. Great to see the Mets come back from the bullpen giving up the lead in the top of the 8th. Wagner looked strong in the 9th too. And yeah, I don't understand why Randolph would pull Feliciano in favor of Mota either. Mota is useless at this point. He has the speed but he seems to have lost the entire concept of pitch location. In a weak Mets bullpen, he's the worst one, and I really don't trust him AT ALL in any moderate-pressure situation once we get to the playoffs.

Oops. Well, I wouldn't ship it to Alaska either.

What is the difference if they are used/burned and if they are not? Play the same exact material? Yup. Play it in exactly the same quality? Yep. Have absolutely everything that the store-bought version of the game does? Yup. Oh but then again, the DVDs themselves aren't going to have the pretty design on the labels. If you're not interested in it, there's not much point to posting in this thread, I would reckon. It's not like I'm going to tie the 360 to a raft and sail it to Smues in the UK anyway. And fortunately enough for me, it looks like I have a potential buyer, although not from here. So....yeah. Victory for me. Sour grapes for Ripper.

Remind me to never work with you as a team should we both become salesmen someday.

No, here's the way I look at it: $350 for a new Xbox 360 $50 for an extra wireless controller $20 for the headset $20 for the quick charge kit $15 for the Intercooler I believe $15 for the faceplate, ridiculously enough So that's a $470 value so far.... Throw in the two Xbox games, which would both go for $60 a piece, and that would be an extra $120: And there we stand at a $590 value. Besides that Ripper, this is more likely for those who have the equipment -- or are interested in obtaining the equipment -- for burning 360 games. Rather than start from scratch with modding a system, which would of course void the warranty anyway, I'm giving them a 360 that already has that done. And if someone is interested in this that for whatever reason doesn't care or want the modded capabilities, then again, I'm giving the disc that would allow them to remove the mod and use Xbox live as before. Oh, and when I said "roughly $300", I meant that the price is negotiable.
-
So yeah, I've decided I'm going to sell my 360. It's in perfect condition and has never given me any problems before, so no worries about that. I've just decided to join the PS3 crowd and since I can't afford both at this time....well, there you go. This is what comes with it. Modded Xbox 360 -- has the ability to play burned 360 Games TWO Wireless Controllers Xbox Live Headset Intercooler Halo Faceplate Xbox360 Play and Charge Kit Plus burned copies of Spider Man 3 and Lost Planet that work perfectly. And just to throw this in there....just in case you would rather use the 360 to access Xbox Live instead of the modded capabilities, I'm also going to be giving you a special disc. With the disc, you can return the Xbox back to its original state. Of course, you won't be able to play the burned games anymore but you will be able to use Xbox Live if you wish to. The asking price is roughly going to be $300 to get everything I just listed....plus the cost of shipping and handling, whatever that may come out to. I'm attempting to sell this through various other means too, so if you're interested, it's better to let me know sooner rather than later.

I never "get" these types of threads.

I'm very happy with the Mets effort tonight. Marlon Anderson redeemed himself a little tonight with that bases loaded double, Delgado is starting to get productive again, and Maine pitched a great game when they were really relying on him to. I didn't expect such production against Hudson tonight, so I'm pleasantly surprised. ....but Pelfrey pitches tomorrow. Yikes.

And Wagner now has three blown saves for the month of August. I don't consider that "unbelievably awesome." The home stretch is not the time to suddenly be blowing these games.
-
Yes, overreacting. Watching the Mets bullpen dwindle a six game lead down to two in a matter of four days is certainly not a reason for concern.
-
Wagner went two innings. He gave up three hits in the ninth, all singles. It's not like they teed off. Al, the closer's job is to make sure he gets the save. That is his job. If he does not get the save -- rather, if he blows the save -- then he is not doing his job. It does not matter the way he does it. It does not matter if he gave up a homerun or he issued five walks in a row or he gave up three singles. If he does not close the game, then he did not do what he was paid to do. Period. And besides that, I would think giving up three hits in the ninth would actually be worse than giving up only one homerun for a loss. At least with the homerun, you could argue he made one sloppy pitch and that single mistake cost him the game. With the three singles, there is no defense. He had his worst stuff, he wasn't tricking any of them out there, and as the season gets closer to an end, he is becoming increasingly more unreliable. Is he going to blame this on his "dead arm"? Perhaps. Well then, he shouldn't be out there closing until he's healthy, because it's becoming a detriment to the team. No, the other three games the Mets lost to the Phillies doesn't come down to Wagner. But this one does. Giving up three earned runs after how many days of rest is not acceptable for a Major League Baseball closer. Any of them.
-
Well, Billy Wagner blew another save. Well, how about that. I anxiously await Bruiser tossing some hollow statistics at me about Wagner at some point tonight.
-
Has it yet become cliche for me to come in here and complain about another Mets bullpen meltdown?
-
What the FUCK was Marlon Anderson doing?! Holy shit, Green would have been safe and the game would be tied! Baseball fundamentals. You cannot use your hands to SHOVE the second baseman off his feet! Disgusting.
-
the mets bullpen is amazing. no problems here. heilman, mota....their eras are in negative numbers, theyre so great. thumbs up. ive never seen such fine men grace the pitchers mound of life ever. ever.
-
I say I undoubtedly won this round of the game. Yet there is absolutely no way I will be posting a picture in this thread so fortunately I will pass that heavy responsibility onto somebody else.

Yeah, guys, after glancing over that site...I'm going to guess that it's a joke more than anything else. Unless Rupert Murdoch and J.D. Salinger are going to be cutting commentary tracks, of course.
