  1. That;s GOT to be a joke!? Not really. They're the definitive London band at the moment, singing about the rough points of inner-city life in an articulate way. Not to mention the stylistic influence and the presence of Mick Jones.
  2. One of the things I should have noted in my list is that I was going more for the general conception than my own solid opinion. I love Kid A, and there are plenty of days when I think it's my favorite Radiohead album. My two main problems with Kid A: 1) The Warp influence was taken way too far. Out of all the albums since PH, it's probably the most derivative. 2) Once they got to performing the songs live, they were completely transformed, often into better versions. The definative versions of National Anthem, Idioteque and Everything in it's right place are the live versions off the I Might Be Wrong EP. Morning Bell and the acoustic version of Motion Picture Soundtrack are also far superior. Once you've heard these versions, the recorded versions seem flimsy in comparison.
  3. Viva la WWE folder. Huh? Viva la WWE folder
  4. I still say Batista wins next week and drops the title to Orton, to set up the WM21 match.
  5. That would indicate an in-depth knowledge of Blink 182. Surely paraphrasing is the best option to make a funny while keeping my inate cool.
  6. No-one likes you when you're 23.
  7. Have you downloaded DivX?
  8. While not a direct influence on any songs in particular, Jonny Greenwood has always said he was influenced by Bitches Brew when making OK Computer. More the experimentation and tone that influenced them rather than an obvious sound you can hear, although they've specifically named "Subterranean Homesick Alien" as their attempt to emulate Davis. And personally, I'd take The Bends over Southern... and ATLiens put together, and while a great album, OK Computer takes Aquemini simply by the range of sound and the fact that barely a second is wasted. As for Nirvana vs Radiohead, I've never been a fan or Nevermind. The Bends is a greater album on most levels, while OK COmputer shades In Utero.
  9. And I say sterling a fair bit too.
  10. I also use Hentai terms like bukkake, cosplay and eropuri all the time. And I'm starting to use goatse quite a bit.
  11. Mark comes from carny times when they used to mark gullible people with a bit of chalk so that other carnies could tell who to target. I use "mark out" all the time, but only because I love random slang. I also say l33t, r0x0r and use polari and cockney all the time.
  12. Damn, where's Fooster when you need him? Radiohead's "genius" lies in the influences they take to put in there music. Miles Davis, DJ Shadow, The Pixies, Sigur Ros, Aphex Twin, The Smiths and all manner of classical and jazz musicians. The fact that they have managed to put all these different styles into their music, as well as putting their own twist on it, mwans they end up with something completely individual and brilliant. Add to that the fact that they're all brilliant musicians (not just at their chosen instruments, but also everything else) and the fact that Thom Yorke is a very underated touching songwriter, and you've got a great band. As for best of the nineties, it'd be hard to name a band whose body of work is as good as Pablo Honey, The Bends and OK Computer (their nineties albums). Certainly, to become world famous for the type of music they play deserves some applause.
  13. Meh. I saw them at Reading in 2002, before Up The Bracket was released and they blew me away. They were a band to fall in love with. They just had this energy and belief that carried you through the set. The first album is a great pop album, while the second is a ot more cohesive, but with less amazing songs. They're both great albums that are both played and written brilliantly. Their band of a generation label is more to do with their cultural level than anything alse. They're a proper interesting soap opera. Pete's in and out of jail and rehab and they're the perfect London (even English) band. They're this generations Clash. The songs are great, and they've formed a proper scene around them, which was needed at a time when British guitar music was sorely in need of characters. They're like avery genre defining band. There are better bands around, but they're the ones with the characters and the stories to fall in love with and sell magazines. For finding the true core of the band, listen to the first Babyshambles sessions. A triple CD of demos played by the band, including many of the songs off the second album. It does what Nirvana unplugged did. Strip the songs down to a miimum and install real intamacy to them. It's absolutely brilliant and shows the genius of the two songwriters. If the two albums don't show ou that, try the acoustic stuff. Plus they broke the door down for London bands like Bloc Party to come through, and that's a good thing.
  14. Cee-Lo is a member of the Goodie Monand Dungeon Family, which also includes Outkast. He's been on a fair few Outkast albums under the name Cee-Lo Goodie. As for his album, it's a bit more soul inspired than Outkast, but still similar and very, very good. IMHO, it works better as an album than all Outkast albums bar Aqemini. If you've got p2p, download "The Art Of Noise" as a sample of the album. Good shit and seeing as it looks like you've got the same taste in Hip-Hop as me, I reckon you'll love it. Also, along the same lines, Look out for the Dungeon Family's collective album "Even In Darkness" containing Outkast and their buddies, and again positively comparable to Outkast's albums.
  15. It comes down to HHH and Batista. HHH gets Batista to step over the rope to eliminate himself which Batista does begrudgingly. Next week, Jericho can't compete for the title as he's injured, so he makes a match between Batista and Triple H, leading to the break-up of Evolution.
  16. I'd second Madvillainy and Handsome Boy Modelling School stuff. Also, Cee-Lo Green is the Soul Machine if you like Outkast.
  17. Excellent, that's exactly what I was after. Good man! Anybody know of any others?
  18. While looking for pictures on Google, I thought to myself it'd be cool if there was a search engined which could search for movie files in the same way. Then I thought, if it's possible, and I thought of it, someone else has already done it and put it on the internet. So, does anyone koe if there are any sites or engines which allows you to browse movie files based on their file name or what they have in the link in the same way google (or any other search engine) oes. Kind of like Kazaa, but to webpages?
  19. Great. I'll start a thread to talk about it.
  20. So, are you calling me or you stupid?
  21. Vanhalen and AMikeSC The axis of stupid.
  22. Just looking through urban dictionary, and apparently Mario Logan added a definition of me. This makes me cooler than you all. Apart from the other people he did it to. R0X0R
