And?
I think that one thread should be all you need, apart from major exceptions. Plus it'll keep the conversation going on track for a long time.
Although it gets nowhere near as much traffic, the OAO soccer thread is a good example, as everyone knows where to go to gloat and bitch about the sport.
Johnson is right in this case. If you don't wanna post there about major issues, start a new thread. But it saves wasting bandwidth on trivial threads which could just go into one.
But, take the Shaq vs. Kobe thread for example. The first response in the thread was "already posted in the OaO" thus killing the conversation in the thread. That is a major story that might have had discussion, but no one is going to want to go to the one and only, mixing it in with other stuff.
If it was just going to be a OaO NBA chatter, what's going on in games tonight thread, then that is fine. But it won't happen. The first major story thread not posted in the OaO, was already told it was in the OaO.
Oh, in that case it's just Johnson being a dick.
I dunno what the Kobe/Shaq story is, but if it's gonna go on for more than a few days, then it deserves it's own thread. Otherwise it'll just get lost in the mix before people get the chance to find it and have their say.
