  1. This contest is seperate from normal pick 'em contest. It's the same contest I ran on the board two years ago (won by razazteca) and it is open to everyone. It doesn't matter if you were in my contest all year or if you never watch college football, you can participate. If you are in a bowl game in my current contest DO NOT submit picks to this one, you are automatically entered. The way this one works is that I assign each bowl game a point value from 1 to 28. You pick a winner for each game and if you pick a game right you earn the points for that game. The winner of the contest is the one with most points at the end. Those familiar with my other contest know the winner of that win gets $50. In this one there is no money but you do win this... It'll be a point based system that I did two years ago. All of you in bowls will automatically be entered with your picks in this contest. 3. One final change to the bowls, Music City Bowl sticks with Virginia and Georgia Tech ends up all the way down in the Emerald Bowl.
  4. Well okay there's your first upset, Gator Bowl takes Virginia Tech over Miami. Not that Miami can be too broken up they get more money by going to the Peach Bowl.
  5. "ESPN College Gameday Bowl Selection Show presented by Outback" Well that explains why the Outback Bowl is the only bowl that isn't really known yet. Let me guess ESPN will create some artificial drama the entire hour and not announced if it's Iowa or Michigan until the final segment. Okay nevermind they did it the first segment, Iowa gets the nod, Michigan will go to the Alamo Bowl.
  6. There was really no cash to be thrown around. The Orange Bowl had nothing to gain by just handing Penn State to the Fiesta Bowl.
  7. Final BCS Standings 1. USC 2. Texas 3. Penn State 4. Ohio State 5. Oregon 6. Notre Dame 7. Georgia 8. Miami 9. Auburn 10. Virginia Tech 11. West Virginia 12. LSU 13. Alabama 14. TCU 15. Texas Tech 16. UCLA 17. Florida 18. Wisconsin 19. Louisville 20. Michigan 21. Boston College 22. Florida State 23. Oklahoma 24. Georgia Tech 25. Northwestern
  8. With Willie Tuitama at quarterback, Arizona is going to be a bowl team next year. Good lord ABC is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the BCS bowls that everyone already knows are going to be. Then ESPN is going to drag an hour long program out of announcing the other bowls where the only suspense left is if the Outback Bowl will take Iowa or Michigan.
  9. Some minor adjustments to the bowl schedule it regards to the ACC. Apparantly the Car Care Bowl is just going to say "fuck it" to the order of finish in conference and go local by picking N.C. State. Georgia Tech is now going to end up in the Music City Bowl, where Virginia was slated for a couple of weeks, and now UVA gets shipped across the country to play in the Emerald Bowl. Also the Outback Bowl might pick Iowa over Michigan.

  11. As already mentioned earlier, AlwaysPissedOff beat out CanadianChris for the #2 spot by the slimmest of margins. APO and Spaceman Spiff will face off in the Bored Bowl and the winner gets $50. 12. 13. The Gator Bowl had already pretty much made their mind that they are taking Miami regardless of what happens today. It looks like Va Tech falls to the Peach (which is actually a higher payout than the Gator) but it's conceivable they could fall even further than that as they might want to take the hometowm team in Georgia Tech. For now though I think they'll be thrilled with getting two teams were in the Top 5 going into the final week in LSU & Va Tech. If anyone is wondering in regards to LSU why they fall to the Peach is because the Capital One has pretty much settled on Auburn and the Cotton on Alabama so they were going to get the loser of today's game no matter what. Of course now if they recover the onside they could still win this.
  14. Right now regardless of what happens in the Hawaii game, it looks APO will beat you out. If Fresno State shows up or if Northern Illinois doesn't blow it with 10 seconds left, you would have finished #2. I'll still wait until the end of the game Hawaii game late tonight to post the final results. teke will end up #4 but I'm gonna bump him out of the BCS as he'd end up playing a team he already played.
  15. With Florida State likely to win now here's what the entire bowl schedule is probably going to look like. Teams in bold are already locked/invited to that bowl. New Orleans: Arkansas State vs. Southern Miss GMAC: Toledo vs UTEP Poinsetta: Navy vs. Colorado State Las Vegas: BYU vs. California Forth Worth: Houston vs. Kansas Hawaii: Nevada vs. Central Florida Motor City: Akron vs. Memphis Champ Sports: Clemson vs. Colorado Insight: Arizona State vs. Rutgers MPC Comptuers: Boise State vs. Boston College Alamo: Iowa vs. Nebraska Emerald: Utah vs. N.C. State Holiday: Oregon vs. Oklahoma Music City: Minnesota vs. Virginia Sun: UCLA vs. Northwestern Independence: South Carolina vs. Missouri Peach: LSU vs. Virginia Tech Car Care: Georgia Tech vs. South Florida Liberty: Tulsa vs. Fresno State Houston: TCU vs. Iowa State Outback: Michigan vs. Florida Cotton: Texas Tech vs. Alabama Gator: Miami vs. Louisville Capital One: Wisconsin vs. Auburn Fiesta: Notre Dame vs. Ohio State Sugar: Georgia vs. West Virginia Orange: Florida State vs. Penn State Rose: USC vs. Texas
  16. What's amazing about this is coming into today the latest reports had FSU possibly being shipped out to Boise for the MPC Computers Bowl if they didn't pull off the upset.
  17. If this holds up the Peach Bowl could end up with a Virginia Tech/LSU match-up. Quite the coup for them.
  18. Hmmm somebody has been recording all the results I see. Yup your opponents were terrible. I wouldn't be so sure about the three-way tie thing. Unrelated, Oregon losing means that no bowl eligible team will be left out of the bowls.
  19. Georgia has the SEC title wrapped up. There's a decent chance they'll be ranked below West Virginia in the BCS, although they'll get a big bump in the polls after a dominating performance so they might jump them. Who would have even thought there was a possiblity the Big East champ would end up higher ranked than the SEC champ?
  20. And if you didn't think it could get any worse for the Pac-10...it just did. Arizona is down by 11 late against Houston. There isn't a Top 25 worthy team in the conference right now. Just awful.
  21. Okay kids here you go. Get your posts in before it gets closed until January 4th. At least there won't be any agrument over either team deserving to be here this year.
  22. Okay game over, Rose Bowl is decided, I'm creating the thread so and we'll see how long it takes to get closed.
  23. I've put in the results of the three finished match-ups and the picks based on the six games completed so far today. At this very moment this is how the Top 4 looks: 1. Miami 4.2 2. Alabama 5.0 3. Syracuse 5.1 4. LSU 5.2 It does look like Spiff will back his way into the Bored Bowl as their cushion coming into this week was just too big to lose. But you see it is way too close to call for #2 with the Mid South title game still to be decided.
  24. The Conference USA title game is in Orlando so you'd know it would be a UCF partisan crowd but jeez it sounds like it's 99% UCF fans. Everytime Tulsa has made a play, including a touchdown just now, the crowd just goes silent.
  25. And Fresno State scores on fumble return while LA Tech is trying to rundown the clock, pushing the total score (at the moment) to 55 and that means Syracuse has won the Big Atlantic title. This makes things verrrrrrrrrrrry interesting as the one sure thing going into this week was if Miami won they are going to the Bored Bowl. They might still as they had a nice little cushion over #2 thu #4.
