  1. Wade Boggs is arguably the greatest American League third baseman of all-time. Any argument against him being in the HOF holds no water. How do we even know if pitcher's feared facing him or not? Should the Hall of Fame only let in power hitters? Hey I bet for a couple of years pitchers feared Sam Horn but no one wants him the HOF.
  2. Those lucky few will get to say they saw Chris Rix's last football game. They should have given out free handicap parking passes to every fan.
  3. Actually it's three with the Music City Bowl yesterday.
  4. Bumping this to the front of the page since there is plenty of conversation going on in the regular thread to warrant this game having it's own thread.
  5. Can we possibly stay focused on the games played today? Drop the Big XII vs. Pac-10 crap.
  6. Scoreboard Update thru December 31st. Virginia 10, Minnesota 10 -Edwin can clinch with wins by Texas A&M and Michigan -Vern can clinch win wins by Tennessee and Texas UCLA 12, Syracuse 11 -phoenix can clinch with a win by LSU or Texas -Chris can clinch with wins by Iowa and Michigan LSU 9, Washington State 7 -teke can clinch with a win by Tennesse or Michigan Maryland 12, Hawaii 9 -Marvin has won this match-up Oregon 9, Bowling Green 9 -match-up will be decided by the Cotton Bowl Texas 11, Notre Dame 9 -Flyboy can clinch with a win by West Virginia Stanford 10, Ohio State 10 -match-up can't be decided on Saturday
  7. Posting this thread now as I doubt I'll be awake for the kickoff of the Outback and Cotton Bowl. Outback Bowl: #7 Georgia vs. #17 Wisconsin, 11:00/8:00 AM, ESPN Cotton Bowl: #20 Texas A&M vs. #15 Tennessee, 11:00/8:00 AM, FOX Gator Bowl: West Virginia vs. #16 Florida State, 12:30 PM/9:30 AM, NBC Capital One Bowl: #12 LSU vs. #11 Iowa, 1:00 PM/10:00 AM, ABC Rose Bowl: #4 Texas vs. #13 Michigan, 4:30/1:30 PM, ABC Fiesta Bowl: #21 Pittsburgh vs. #6 Utah, 8:30/5:30 PM, ABC
  8. Are you going to insist continuing a debate you had with a poster (A_MikeSC) who no longer posts here? Just drop the fucking Big XII South vs. Pac-10 bullshit already. The rivalry is in your head only. Also UCLA finished 5th in the conference (Arizona State was 3rd, Oregon State was 4th). Now to actually focus on an actual battle going, the Peach has just been flat out ugly. Miami now opens up a 24-3 lead.
  9. MarvinisaLunatic's Maryland Terrapins are the KFC PETA Bowl Champions!
  10. Touchdown Purdue, go up 23-20 with 1:22 left. Poor ASU as they've completely outplayed Purdue today. Just like that ASU scores! Awesome fourth quarter.
  11. CBS just put up a graphic saying ASU quarterback Sam Keller has his first career win. They did this with two minutes left still in the game and ASU still only up by four points. Then of course ASU has a punt blocked and now Purdue has it at the ASU 35.
  12. It took one play into the second half for Purdue to score more points than were scored by both teams in the first half. 80 yard touchdown pass, 9-3 lead. I missed channel surfing college football. Wish they'd have more game opposite of each other during bowl season.
  13. 3-2 ASU leads Purdue late in the first half. Who expected that score? Glenn Mason's decision to take the safety almost bites him in the ass but Minnesota survives with the 20-16 win.
  14. Scoreboard update thru December 30th Virginia 8, Minnesota 8 UCLA 9, Syracuse 8 -phoenixrising can wrap it up with wins by Minnesota and Purdue on Friday LSU 6, Washington State 4 -teke can wrap it up with wins by Louisville and Florida on Friday Maryland 9, Hawaii 7 -Marvin can wrap it up with a win by Arizona State on Friday Oregon 7, Bowling Green 6 -Either team could potentially wrap it up on Friday Texas 9, Notre Dame 7 -Flyboy can clinch a win by tiebreak based on the Liberty Bowl total yardage Stanford 8, Ohio State 7
  15. Today's Schedule Music City Bowl: Alabama vs. Minnesota, Noon/9:00 AM, ESPN Sun Bowl: #19 Arizona State vs. Purdue, 2:00 PM/11:00 AM, CBS Liberty Bowl: #9 Boise State vs. #10 Louisville, 3:30/12:30 PM, ESPN Peach Bowl: #14 Miami vs. #23 Florida, 7:30/4:30 PM, ESPN Do we really need a game between 6-5 teams this late in the bowl season? Sun Bowl could have been a 49-48 classic but no Andrew Walter means the Sun Devils probably get their ass kicked. Liberty Bowl obviously will be big on the points but I think Louisville wins by at least three touchdowns. If Miami loses expect people to start speculating about Larry Coker's job security. Hey that's the way it goes in college football now.
  16. Georgia and Utah are doomed. DOOMED!
  17. Did Chris Mullin and Bill Wennington suit up?
  18. Jim Abbott - Greatest one handed pitcher I ever saw. Dave Concepcion - Hey Joe Morgan calls him the greatest shortstop ever. What more evidence do you people need? Chili Davis - He goes in for being named Chili. Tommy John - He has a surgery named after him. Lou Gehrig has a disease named after him and he's in the HOF. I rest my case. Jack McDowell - He flipped off Yankee fans. How is that not HOF worthy? Otis Nixon - He knew how to bunt and bunting wins championships.
  19. Must...resist...urge...to...reply...AHHHHH! Weren't you one of the people whining about Texas going over Cal? Weren't you even claiming to be a fan of this Cal team?
  20. Same 'ol sorry ass Cal Golden Bears. Usually one good year at Cal means a decade or more of mediocrity afterwards. Oh well maybe they can make another run in 2014. Now you all should watch the Silicon Valley Bowl. Shit got to give it some ratings.
  21. Dave Parker, Terry Steinbach, and Tony Phillips. 1989 OAKLAND A'S BIAS~! Okay I'll do my real votes later.
  22. Looking at possible scenerios I'm in almost a must win situation to get a bye week. If I lose to sfajack and CanadianChris wins I'll end up the #3 seed as both will have a better conference record in a three-way tiebreak. So I need to win or have CC lose to get a bye week.
  23. Ever since they started the Pac-10/Big XII match-up in the Holiday Bowl back in 1998 no game has been decided by more than seven points.
  24. Yup it's looking like it could come down to the Orange Bowl. You two differ on the Cotton and Rose Bowl on January 1st.
  25. I'm biased but the game of the year in college basketball was Arizona at Stanford in February. Well played, competitive game from start to finish with the best ending of the year. Hate to scream WEST COAST BIAS~ but if that exact same game with the exact same finish happens with Duke involved, no doubt it makes the list.
