We can change our Sunday night and Monday night picks this late? Errr that's kinda weak.
-
Why take him out? I'm loving this! 33-7 after another Kordell pick. Yes I suspect Grossman will start the 2nd half. Can't remember the last time the 49ers had a game this easy.
-
30-7 49ers as Stewart has an interception returned for a touchdown in the final minute of the half. Wow the Bears suck...which is good for my 49ers.
-
Damnit...I've already loss. I'm down 8-7 and have the same picks as the other guy for the rest of the games. Fuckin' Rams cost me the game.
-
Uhm.... Something doesn't add up. Typo...sorry...wait no I'm not..FUCK THE YANKEES! Anyways my A's just played like shit this past week getting punked out by the Orioles and Devil Rays...ugh. Thankfully the Mariners have been playing like shit for a couple of months now. It will definently come down to those six games at the end of the season and I just hope the A's have it clinched before the final three in Seattle.

Can I just say that the argument over "have the Braves won 11 straight division titles?" is boring and pointless...I mean who gives a shit? Anyways winning a division in the wild card era means less and less now. BOREDOM strikes...don't ask me why but I figured it'd be time to look at how long teams have gone without winning or making it to a World Series. Guess we'll just call this the Fan Suffering Index. Number Years since winning a World Series, or if never, how many years a team has been in exsistence (those teams have an asterisk next to them). Cubs 95 White Sox 86 Red Sox 85 Indians 55 Giants 49 Rangers 42* Astros 41* Expos 34* Padres 34* Brewers 34* Mariners 26* Pirates 24 Phillies 23 Cardinals 21 Orioles 20 Tigers 19 Royals 18 Mets 17 Dodgers 15 A's 14 Reds 13 Twins 12 Blue Jays 10 Rockies 10* Braves 8 Marlins 6* Devil Rays 5* Yankees 3 Diamondbacks 2 Angels 1 Same as above just number of years since playing in a World Series: Cubs 58 White Sox 44 Rangers 42* Astros 41* Expos 34* Mariners 26* Pirates 24 Brewers 21 Orioles 20 Tigers 19 Royals 18 Red Sox 17 Cardinals 16 Dodgers 15 A's 13 Reds 13 Twins 12 Blue Jays 10 Phillies 10 Rockies 10* Marlins 6 Indians 6 Padres 5 Devil Rays 5* Braves 4 Yankees 3 Mets 3 Diamondbacks 2 Angels 1 Giants 1

OKLAHOMA! OKLAHOMA! BOOMER SOONER! THEY WON IT BAH GAWD~!
-
I just saw the score 33-32...did Miami not go for the tie? USC scores a touchdown to go up 28-18 so looks like they'll pull it out. LSU is up on Arizona 31-0...with over 9 minutes left in the 2nd quarter! How in the hell did Makovic keep his job? U of A is just terrible. And who is the genius at TBS that chose to have two Arizona games to start their football season? They show Oregon/Arizona next week.
-
Ugh this is turning into a REALLY ugly day for the Pac-10. Oregon St. (last night), Washington St., UCLA, and Cal all lose close ones that they could have won and right now USC is dangerously close to blowing 21-0 lead to BYU. Arizona is already down 17-0 to LSU but Arizona won probably the only game they'll win all year against UTEP last week. Oh AND Stanford and Arizona St. are losing to San Jose St. and Northern Arizona respectively at the moment but its early. Hmmmm 33-25 Florida now...spoke too soon.
-
Don't have the Florida-Miami game here (USC-BYU where USC is letting an early blow out turn into a tight game) but if Florida holds on that will probably be the end of fireronzook.com. I guess losing the 49ers 3rd string quarterback was a bigger loss than people made it out to be. 33-10! Holy shit...no one saw this coming.
-
Anyways the Yankees look like the team choking right now but even then the Red Sox don't have the pitching to win World Series (oh and don't point out the Angels last year; best bullpen in baseball and their starting pitching was better than this year's Red Sox) so that means at least one more year of "Curse" talk.
-
Temple is getting the boot from the Big East next year in football for UConn and they might as well move to I-AA. They could join the Sun Belt conference for a shot at a conference championship but not sure if they could beat out North Texas.
-
Damnit tough week for the Pac-10 so far. Oregon St. loses on a late field goal to Fresno St., Washington St. blows a big lead and loses in overtime to Notre Dame, and now UCLA loses on a late touchdown to Colorado. Washington did wake up in the 2nd half and realize they were playing Indiana and are now up 38-13.
-
Notre Dame wins in OT 29-26. Here are the national t.v. games left for tonight: ABC Florida at Miami - most of the country BYU at USC - west coast only ESPN Oklahoma at Alabama ESPN2 Maryland at Florida State TBS LSU at Arizona
-
Wow! What a touchdown catch by WSU. Tie game with less than a minute in regulation.
-
First one that came to mind was the one time I saw it in person at a '98 A's game against the Indians where Mark Whiten came into pitch for Cleveland. He loaded the bases and then struck out the side. We gave him a standing ovation. Here's the boxscore: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B07310OAK1998.htm
-
Notred Dame has cut the lead to three already. This is the typical ND game last year...play like shit for three quarters and then pull a win out of their ass in the 4th.
-
Well Gesser graduated and they typically can never put back-to-back great seasons in a row. Speaking of Washington schools, UW looks like they might suck this year. Blown out by OSU who barely beats San Diego St. this week and they are struggling in the first half to beat an Indiana team that was blown out last week by UConn. 10-10 at the half.
-
Look out now...here comes Wake Forest! They easily beat N.C. State today after they won at Boston College last week, who just manhandled Penn State today. Not sure if this is a sign of how good Wake Forest is or how bad Penn State is. Yikes and Ohio St. only beats San Diego St. by THREE! That's not a good sign. This is looking like a day of upsets. Memphis just beat Mississippi (bye bye Eli from Heisman race), Purdue is losing late to Bowling Green, Virginia without Schaub is getting blown out by South Carolina, Washington St. has jumped out big early on Notre Dame.
-
NFL: Mr. Clarett you'll play for the Saskatchewan RoughRiders next year and LIKE IT! He actually might win this case but it will not be solved by the time next April rolls around thus making it pointless unless he can get a decision in time for the supplemental draft but he won't get the same type of money then. He should just try to transfer ASAP and then I'm almost certain the NCAA will let him play next year (RATINGS!) as long as he stays out of trouble. He could pull off the biggest college sports heel turn of all-time and transfer to Michigan.
