I honestly hadn't seen the trailers, but I thought the movie was pretty good. I'd recommend it.

Because people will get excited and find things more interesting IF YOU YELL A LOT AND CONSTANTLY!
-
Yeah, there was a thread about that in the General Wrestling forum (IIRC). I commented that the line at the end about "In Theaters Everywhere 2008" made me laugh. This looks like a total fan produced movie, and a bad one at that. I noticed that the guy playing Vince McMahon is also the director, so that gives you an idea of the kind of budget this thing has.

No, probably not.

None of those three should have been on my TV screen tonight.

chat going on right now in the chat room if anyone cares.

Beth's music is kind of cool.

I thought Mongo kind of decided wrestling wasn't for him? I could be wrong.

I think people are probably making a little too much out of the specific references in the video, but I agree that it's almost certainly Chris Jericho.

The only problem with building around Sting and Angle is that neither of them are necessarily long term solutions for TNA. Neither of them really seem to be helping buyrates or ratings (though that is more TNA's fault for lack of promotion than anything, coupled with this being a "down time" for wrestling in general). What happens when Sting retires for good in another year or so, and what happens if Angle gets injured (or worse)? Who is the big name to carry the company then? No one, really, because they haven't built anyone up enough yet. They've had chances in the past to hand the figurative ball to AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, and others, but have just failed to do it time after time. Sooner or later, it's going to be too late for TNA, or WWE is going to swoop in and sign some of those guys and leave TNA with the old guys who can't go in the ring anymore.

I actually got to watch this episode of Impact and found it more enjoyable than most recent episodes of RAW. Sting/Angle was a bit short, but was decent and did what it was supposed to. I didn't mind them dragging out the bit with Cornette, because they used the final segment to set up the main event of the next PPV, which is what they should be doing, and what people on this forum have been clamoring for them to do. You might argue that it's dumb for a World Title to be contested in a tag team match, but there's definitely some intrigue as to who Sting's partner will be.

Chris Benoit Dead - Toxicology results released
Dobbs 3K replied to Human Fly's topic in The WWE Folder
That seems like they're going really far to take care of a problem no one is seriously going to be bothered by. -
With the talk regarding Stephanie being mad about the word of Jericho's return getting leaked, any chance they swerve everyone and reveal someone else as being behind the promos? Only problem is that I don't know of anyone else set to return that would make sense, unless they give a similar gimmick to a brand new call-up from OVW or something. Only other thing I could think of is that it's not even a wrestler returning. Maybe they could have Shane come back to "save the WWE" from the insanity of his father. But, that's kind of "been there, done that."

It's nice to see Kelly is taking on even more of the generic WWE diva look now. Seriously, does Vince want all his female workers to look exactly the same? If you go to WWE.com, Melina does look like she's "grown" a bit too, but that could just be the pic and her outfit (the one from the costume contest).
-
Yeah, I believe that was the problem. He felt they should have built up to a Austin/Lesnar match with Austin jobbing, not just hot shotting it in a relatively meaningless encounter. I don't know...it's nice to speculate about other feuds Austin could have done, but most of the potential ones mentioned in the OP of this thread didn't happen for some pretty legitimate reasons. The only one that I think was a real missed opportunity was the feud they were building up with Eddie Guerrero. Remember when they had that bar fight on RAW? Good stuff. If Brian Pillman had been around longer and stayed healthy, a real Austin/Pillman feud down the line could have been a good draw.

Another example of why Rodriguez opting out is the right decision.

The one I bought is rated at 380 watts, but the guy at the shop spoke highly of it. I can't remember the brand name off hand, but it seems to be fitting my needs fine.

Close to? They've already entered that territory. I mean, when the owner tells the manager who's taken them to 12 straight post-seasons, or whatever the hell it is, "Win or you're fired", that's pretty embarrassing, IMO. I don't know why everyone is speculating the Cubs will get A-Rod. Their ownership situation is up in the air, and they just spent a ton of money in the last off-season. Also, I thought the ownership offer rumor was called as BS, since I'm pretty sure that is not allowed under MLB rules. Personally, assuming he doesn't somehow end up as a Yankee again, I think he'll be going to Anaheim.
-
Also of note is that the guy playing Vince is the director...yeah, that's not small time at all.
-
"Coming to Theaters Everywhere 2008" Yeah, right. This looks like a fan produced piece, not a serious motion picture.

"Hacksaw" is just one of those old school "tough guy" nicknames. I believe there was an NFL player in the '70s with that same nickname. I agree that Val may as well get a win once in a while, I'm just not interested in seeing him get a prolonged push or title reign out of it. And as far as no one saying *it* about Val, that is good, because it wasn't funny to begin with.
-
While Lance Storm probably never cut a single memorable promo in his whole career, he was right on both points.
-
Exactly. Val is fine in his role now. He gets the "Hey, I remember this guy from when wrestling was really cool" pop, does his token moves, and jobs in convincing fashion.
