  1. You must be right, since you were 10 years old at the time and still able realized this was happening.
  2. Only if it makes sense, which I'll admit is not likely. I don't think one artist draws an entire issue. Because of the schedule, there isn't enough time for one person to do all 22 pages of pencils.
  3. Seriously. If prosecutors don't like murderers going free, they should try making a stronger case before taking the accused to court. The prosecution had an airtight case. Unfortunately, the judge allowed the defense to drag too many irrelevant, red herring arguments into the procedings, and O.J. Simpson (a man with a long history of spousal abuse) was painted as the victim of an elaborate and unprovable conspiracy. The trial became a referendum by the mostly black jury on the racism of the LAPD, rather than a determination of whether or not the man murdered two people. edit: Yeah, I know Mark Fuhrman didn't help the case any by having a history of racist remarks, but the leap from saying the word "nigger" to being guilty of orchestrating a multi-person conspiracy targetting an important pillar of the black community like O.J. Simpson (ha!) is AT BEST a spurious connection. O.J. Simpson did committ perjury, though, by claiming not to own certain articles of clothing which was disproven using multiple photographs of him in public wearing the exact items he claimed to think he wouldn't own because he thought they were "ugly."
  4. The Swim Coach skit was fucking awful.
  5. Oh, SNAP! J.T. didn't think it was "funny." He sure told me! And, as we can see, he made quite a well executed argument telling us why. Your clever use of the contraction "wasn't" in front of the word "funny" was quite insightful. Thank you for posting that, J.T. I feel really enlightened by your explanation. Please feel free, the future, to educate us on what color you think the grass is, in your typical persuasive style. I'm really looking forward to it. I don't understand how we can have three consecutive posts discussing why the article wasn't "funny," but not a single one of you bothered to address what the point of the article was or whether that point was valid. I mean, I didn't laugh either, but I can at least appreciate the irony of using tired, cliched criticisms of Saturday Night Live to describe a show that is (in part) a weekly criticism of Saturday Night Live. But, hey, no discussion of that.
  6. Joe Biden's Iraq Plan
  7. I'd like to have been a fly on the wall when that ad was written. "Let's put together an ad where we show Democrats criticizing Bush." "Bush's approval rating is 40%? How the hell's that supposed to help us?" "We can show great Democratic presidents of the past." "What?" "Then we'll cap it off with a clip of Jon Stewart!" "Whose side are you on?"
  8. 13 8 Employee of the Month LGF $2,900,000 -45.0% 2,141 -438 $1,354 $23,939,000 $12 3 EAT IT, DANE COOK!!!!!
  9. Interesting question. I'd think that if there were any Cylon infiltrators left, they'd have stayed with the fleet unstead of moving down to the surface. Funny how the only Cylon models on New Caprica were the 7 we were already aware of. Its not like the humans already knew that all 7 of them were Cylons (i.e. Lucy Lawless).
  10. That wouldn't bother me so much if they weren't referring to the conservatives' version of the Cold War they all seem to believe in (the Soviet Union crumbled because President Reagan kept escalating the arms race), rather than what actually happened (Presidents Nixon and Reagan negotiated significant arms reductions, and the Soviet government collapsed under its own weight after reforms introduced by Gorbachev caused enough people to question the entire system).
  11. Thanks!
  12. That's not going out a limb at all.
  13. Can they really condense Hawkman's origin to a 2 page back-up feature?
  14. Arlen Specter resents that remark.
  15. Dumbest. Poll. Ever.
  16. Dwight and Michael doing "raise the roof" from the "Michael's Birthday" episode would also be an awesome gif.
  17. Remember who is actually in power right now. If this list had been made in 1994, I'm sure the split would look a lot different.
  18. This week is a rerun of "Gay Witch Hunt."
  19. Yup. Anyhow, magnificent episode, that was feature film quality. A little too tidy, for my liking. Destroying the Pegasus = deus ex machina. The ship's final kamakaze mission almost single-handedly got everything back to wear it was during season 2.0. There are a few lingering points, though, that can drive the rest of the season: So do Duella, Lee, and Helo all get demoted? What are the fates of Gaius and Hera? What will happen to Gaeda? He WAS Tyrol's secret informant, after all. Will he be able to prove he wasn't really a collaborator? And, technically, should Zarek be the president now?
  20. When has it ever been said that he went to community college? *Generally* to get into business school, you need a 4-year college degree first. There are graduate and undergraduate business schools. I just figured Ryan went to a liberal arts college for a year or so, dropped out, then started going to a business school.
  21. Do a Google search of the words "clinton sudan terrorists aspirin" and read some the articles that come up. You will see that Clinton was blamed for killing innocent people in his attempts to get bin Laden back in 1998. My favorite: http://www.salon.com/news/1998/09/23news.html This article seems grotesquely naive in today's world, but prior to 9/11 killing bin Laden didn't seem like it was really that important to Clinton's critics, who bitched non-stop about how innocent people were killed by this US attack on terrorist targets.
  22. http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/10/20/gop.ad/index.html Instead of whining, the Democrats just need to make an ad that's a 30-second loop of the 2003 clip of Bush saying he wasn't concerned with bin Laden. I swear, just like in 2004, the Democrats are holding back so much its like they WANT to loose or something.
  23. They're lying assholes that get absolute control over a third of your income and a say in whether you live or die. If you consider that childish bullshit, then maybe you shouldn't be voting. Every one of them says "CUT TAXES! KEEP THE YOUNG PEOPLE HERE!". They all lie. They're all self-serving bastards that only care about putting themselves over in any situation, even emergency situations. I don't see any Democrats yelling about cutting taxes, and I don't see many Republicans yelling about keeping "young people here." There are strong distinctions between parties and candidates that you seem to be completely unaware of. The argument that both parties are the same is just an excuse to not be informed. And there are many, many examples of politicians in recent years keeping their promises. Bush (for better or worse) has pretty much done most of what he promised during the 2000 campaign.
  24. Barbara Boxer's only crimes seem to be she drives a big car, wrote a bad book, and fumble a sentence. Frist, by contrast, is a medical doctor who claimed he could diagnose a woman as based on what he saw on a video tape. So I guess they needed another Democrat.
  25. In Missouri, the Senate campaign has been about stem cell research, nursing homes, and medicare spending. I can't recall one ad mentioning Bush.
