And wasn't a punch in the face the finisher that Garvin used for most of the time while in the NWA, rather than the Garvin Stomp? Hands of Stone, Ronnie Garvin. Yes. The Garvin Stomp wasn't his finisher. His Hands of Stone would knock his opponent out and then he'd go in for the pin. Unless of course he was fighting someone who wasn't a jobber. He won the title with a Sunset Flip off the top rope in a cage.

He used the Garvin Stomp in his NWA days and also used it in his world title win over Ric Flair. He used it to wear down his opponents limbs. That's psychology baby!

It was made clear that the meetings will be a weekly event, as they will be at Smackdown as well, where Vince McMahon and company will critique matches from the previous week, “not as a way of criticizing the talent but instead as a teaching tool”. The wrestlers were told to watch the recent match between HHH and Shawn Michaels as being an example of what the guys need to do to get their work over and make him or herself a better character. There was the usual talk of stepping up and seizing opportunities, though a number of people that I spoke with thought that rang hollow since it’s up to creative to give them chances to do so, not to mention that Shawn and HHH got a half hour of TV time for their match. Vince also talked about the landscape of the business today, making reference to “Ted Turner folding his tent and walking away from wrestling”, even though Turner was not in the position to do so at the time WCW was sold. A few people who were at the meeting actually told me that they believe Vince himself is starting to think that some of WWE’s revisionist history concerning the WCW wars is actually true now. Something else that had a number of the wrestlers laughing after the meeting came from a comment that Vince made when he addressed the troops. He said that it always shocks him when a wrestler turns his back to his opponent in the ring. Of course, as the wrestlers pointed out to me, there is no one guiltier of that transgression that Vince’s son-in-law. According to the people I spoke with today, the general feeling was that if you had to bet right now on whether Goldberg would be with WWE after WrestleMania, the smart money would be placed on him not being around. That is, of course, hardly scientific. There weren’t a lot of glowing feelings after the weekend house show tour through Canada. The houses weren’t great (and get worse after the conversion from the Canadian to US dollar) and because of the fact that they chartered a jet, the wrestler payoffs aren’t expected to be very good.

??? ...never heard of it... ...seriously... Its kind of like a pig latin or hillbilly type word. Have you ever seen Adam Sandler give an award acceptance speech where he talks like he's 5? Edumacational would be a word he could pop into one of those speeches and it would make sense.

Oh yeah, I know, I was just thinking about things from the first few shows that have no relevance anymore today... That's not as bad as things that happen a show or two again then just get dropped.

I remember reading a while back where he was meeting with the young guys like Jindrak and Cade and giving them tips and pointers on getting over, coming up with gimmicks, etc. This way when they start to get over he can be the one to stun them and take their heat away.

im the same way, i can eat all day, whatever the fuck i want and not gain a thing, and i have tried almost everything, i worked out for months nonstop to try and gain muscle mass, nothing.. tried eating alot, still nothing.. pisses me off. I weighed in the 120's from the 9th grade until I was about 27 years old. I ate anything I wanted whenever I wanted. Then all of a sudden I just started putting on pounds. I am at 170 now but for the most part the weight distributed evenly so I don't look fat. Eventually your metabolism will slow down. I'm dieting now but only because my cholesterol level is double what it should be.

I am doing the same damn thing. But I'm happy about it. I can't wait to see the Sopranos and maybe catch some Curb Your Enthusiasm. And I have directv so its only $11 more per month.
