I think it's just the business and running into a few too many assholes by staying around and being nice. I've seen that happen with a lot of musicians, from the disappointed groans to the flat out screaming that comes when they've stuck around for an hour and have to go. They also run into a number of "special" people who are far more important than the other 500 people that are waiting. They "deserve" special treatment of multiple pictures/signatures/conversation and are very vocal in letting this fact be known. After a few years of this they just say fuck it and don't even bother with the hour. And of course some of them are just flat out bitches like Sable.

There's good story potential in this type of match. The cruiser using his speed, athleticism and wrestling ability to overcome the size difference and the hoss impressing with raw power displays, having the cruiser do all the work acting like a pinball. But in WWE land where hosses aren't allowed to sell for non-hosses, this potential is nullified. All they serve to do is expose the cruisers size and make his offence look weak, and the hoss look foolish for taking five minutes to dispose of his obviously weaker opponent.

True, that is consistent with WWE logic. Take the dumbest most ridiculous route possible, one that will obviously be hated and ridiculed, then marvel at the huge negative reaction it gets. Use this reaction to justify the move and show how it proves that it was a good move that will improve business. [wwe logic] because any publicity and/or reaction is good publicity and/or reaction [/wwe logic] And when ratings tank directly following the move, just blame it on the economy etc.

It's an evil move because it helped the heel. I actually like this better than the tired old routine of the dastardly evil power figure blatantly breaking the rules to screw the heroic face. Now the face has to come out, face facts that he lost and go out and avenge the loss rather than have fury on the non-wrestler that screwed him over. He can still be pissed with Angle for reversing the decision, but it was a true loss so now he's got to go out and win his belt back from the guy that he's technically never defeated.

The difference is guaranteed money. Some people like the idea of a steady job, not having to worry about finding work next week. If you get a decent steady paycheque with the WWE, then that more than makes up for the uncertianty of the additional 10-20% that could be made on the indy circuit. But yeah, it's not as if they go hungry if the WWE doesn't pick them up. Good workers will always work if they're willing to look for it.
-
Yeah it does. This reminds me so much of the Lance Storm arguments. Who is really at fault, the company for not using the talents and hiding the flaws, or the worker for not adapting his style to the way the company is using him? Given the WWE's history, London knew what he was getting into when he signed. The WWE style consistently uses wrestlers this way, the same match formula with a few signature moves/spots to show a slight difference. Expecting more than that, especially when he's a cruiserweight would be foolish.

Tell that to Ric Flair, Bret Hart and the Rock. The difference is that this isn't the only tactic they have. They get heat other ways, then amplify it by throwing in the cheap heat. The Rock is probably the best at this, I never fail to laugh whenever I remember "Leaving Sacramento"

Tomko is a trained pro wrestler?!? Couldv'e fooled me

Duh, Matt was unconscious when Lita said yes to Kane. How could Matt have heard it? Don't you know that wrestlers aren't allowed to watch tapes of the shows and aren't allowed to talk to each other about what happened on them. The only exception to that rule is when they use a previous match as build for their current fued and review a tape to watch the henious act that they are out to avenge.
-
Yeah, because look at how quick they are to get rid of Bob Holly, Billy Gunn, Test, Mark Henry... This kind of action is the lowest common denominator for a wrestler. When they have no talent, nothing on the table that can garner a reaction, they go for an obvious button pusher. It doesn't make you a good heel. It quickly becomes a tired standard routine that gets no reaction because of how simple, obvious and overused it is. That is unless of course you're a clueless moron like Bradshaw. In that case you'll take a historical travesty and make light of it. Then to further amplify the fact that your an utter moron, justify your horrendously inappropriate actions as "just being a bad guy".

Something I noticed at a recent Smackdown taping, their commentary wasn't taped as the match is going on. They sit there and watch and I guess get their voices dubbed in later. If this is the routine, it really wouldn't matter when they came out.

I was really wondering if it was just me for the main event. I drifted away from it and got more interested in the Lakers-Pistons. I wanted to focus my attention on wrestling, but I found it to be such a snoozer that I couldn't get into it. That ending sequence really did it in for me. The kick outs on the respective finishers was a good start, but there was way too much lying around between the final two botched pedigrees. If Shawn had given any indication that he could make another comeback maybe there would have been something. Instead it was just "get this over with" because it was obvious Trips was going over and they were just pouring more offence in to show the "brutality". The drama of the final pin was completely killed by how Trips did it. Gravity pulls down. If you're holding your arm in mid-air that means you still have strength, not that your completely worn out. It was a painfully long sequence made even worse by this non-sensical selling.

Student Whose Hair Set Afire Told To Stay Home

And people are shocked when I say we don't want kids. As if the world and the people in it aren't fucked up enough, these are the fucking morons who are put into place to protect them. I'd be in jail for life by the time my kid was six. I would literally rip those kids to shreds if that was my child. -
It was cheap heat. This happened to be cheap heat on a much higher level than the standard "home team sucks". Something this stupid and inappropriate will get a violent reaction no matter what the intentions were. Bradshaw is an asshole. Bradshaw is an even bigger asshole for doing this. Bradshaw is an asshole fuckwad dipshit moron for doing it given the historic date.
-
Does Bradshaw even know how to get heat outside of cheap heat? The only time I ever see him getting a reaction is on this type of thing - an obvious, well known button pusher. The inappropriateness of this one is just further evidence of the moron he is.

I can't drink just one. Let one in, he opens up the door and lets a dozen of his friends in. When I am in the mood to get really fucked up though, Tequila is definately on my list.

It just goes to show that there's only so far they can push. Tax us to poverty. Ignore our interests for the sake of the almighty dollar. Somethings got to give.

According to Prowrestling.com Vince wasn't at Smackdown at all, he was at the Summerslam Press Conference in Canada. So that could be the reasons for what happen with Smackdown. I'm not certain, but Vince was likely doing his Off The Record interview on TSN when the show was going on. He figured that the ship wouldn't sink so no need to rush or adjust the schedule to allow him to be there.

It all depends on your opinion of "good", but with the exception of seats blocked by the titantron, you have a pretty good view of the action from anywhere in the building. The only two problems with the 300 (last upper) level is that from the last 5 rows or so in some sections, you can't see the arena jumbotron, and dumbasses in front of you tend to lean forward, blocking your view.

I ran into this problem with an .avi file a while ago, safe mode, reboot, etc didn't help, try them first, but if not, two things: First: how I solved it. I opened notepad, typed in "good file" and the saved it with the exact name (extension included) and in the same folder of the file that was giving me trouble. This overwrote the bad file, freeing it up and allowing me to delete it. I have no logical explanation for why this worked. My computer still considered the file to be in use, so I shouldn't have been able to overwrite it. But it did work, so I didn't complain. Second, in my research I found that this problem originates from a bug in the Windows XP system (assuming you're running windows XP): To solve this, Microsoft has a program called " inuse.exe" . After installation of inuse, these are the steps: 1. create a new file in notepad, giving it exactly the same name as the bad file, but in a different directory eg: The bad file's location is c:\bad\badfile.avi Create the good file as c:\good\badfile.avi 2. open the command (DOS) prompt, type cd c:\program files\resource kit (this is the default directory that inuse.exe installs to) 3. type "inuse" and enter. This will start the program 4. type " inuse c:\good\badfile.avi c:\bad\badfile.avi " and enter 5. restart Inuse will then overwrite the bad file with the new good file as the computer is restarting before any programs begin running. I can't say how this will work. As I said, I overwrote the file without using "inuse.exe" so I didn't try it on my bad file, but I did a test run with two new files and it did overwrite the one it was supposed to, so I assume it works correctly. DISCLAIMER: I am by no means a computer expert, I can't guarantee that this will work and/or if it will cause serious problems. I only know what I was able to research and what worked for me. As with any time you are downloading and installing programs and overwriting existing files, use common sense.

The One and Only SmackDown Sucks / SolutionsThread
evilhomer replied to reign's topic in The WWE Folder
Unfortunately, with his tv appearances being "rare" and us being "privileged" to be seeing it, he'll continue with the long entrances. Plus there's no way around a long entrance for the character he plays and no chance in hell that he would accept a clipped entrance. The Storm's & Funaki's get clipped entrances, not legend giving us a privileged treat. I'm somewhat enjoying Smackdown but it's B show status really brings it down for me. With all due respect to the great talent they have, none of them are established main eventers. It simply has a feel of a developmental show where young guys are fighting with mid-carders. I love the hell out of the main event push that Eddie, Book and others have received, but since they didn't move in over or up to established main eventers, it has a feel that the bar was lowered, rather than them raising up to it. Taker is the only established one they have, but his part time rare appearances make him look like that semi-retired former star whose just playing out the string, not someone who really matters. -

I'm using windows XP on my comp. In most of my folders, I prefer to view the files with the list preference. The default view on XP seems to be icons because it constantly changes back to them. It's very random, sometimes it switches as soon as I jump out of a folder and go back into it, other times it stays in the list view for days, then switches back. Is this something fucked up on my system? Is there somewhere where you can save the view? I know it's supposed to do that automatically, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Is there anyway to change the default?

2:17 PM = VADER TIME I'll probably be there. I don't really care about autographs though so I don't plan on sticking around if it's a zoo. How will I recognize the great RRR and LOTC anyways?
-
I don't think it will be Taker, more likely a bump machine like Spike or another cruiser they don't care about. With Taker and Modecai's respective gimmicks so closely tied together it's pretty obvious that they will fued eventually, but I see that as something that needs some build. Feed him some jobbers for a couple of months so he can be built up as a credible threat. Throwing him to the Taker now would be way to early, it worked for Mankind, but that's because of Mick Foley. This kind of fued this early would kill the character completely.
