  1. With that kind of money it should be moot, but Teixeira is Boras client. Boras always tests free agency first, and Texas, as a policy, don't usually negotiate with him (although they have recently, so maybe the bad blood is gone). What do they specifically have against Boras? Bad blood from the A-Rod deal?
  2. Soooooooo many three-point games. Every game that's ended so far tonight has gone to OT or a shootout. Tampa Bay and Washington went to the tenth shooter before the Lightning finally won it.
  3. ONS was never going to be anything more than a run-of-the-mill PPV anyway. They knew a NYC crowd would shit all over whatever they put out there, so they moved it.
  4. Second. If the animals are safe, the main thing to save is my computer tower. That's what I'd go for. My wife would grab all the photos.
  5. I wish WWE would put out a DVD specifically on this feud.
  6. 20 games (or fewer) left in the regular season. Time to begin the playoff push. Tomorrow is a rare interesting slate of Friday games -- Pittsburgh at Carolina, Toronto at New Jersey, Ottawa at Atlanta, Montreal at Buffalo and San Jose at Anaheim are all key matchups. Henrik Zetterburg is out 2-3 weeks for the Red Wings with an injured back.
  7. This month's schedule: March 1-4: Honda Classic - PGA National, Palm Beach Gardens, FL (Luke Donald) March 8-11: PODS Championship (formerly Chrysler Championship) - Innisbrook-Copperhead, Tampa, FL (K.J. Choi) March 15-18: Arnold Palmer Invitational (formerly Bay Hill) - Bay Hill Club & Lodge, Orlando, FL (Rod Pampling) March 22-25: WGC-CA Championship - Doral Golf Resort & Spa, Miami, FL (Tiger Woods) March 29-April 1: Shell Houston Open - Redstone GC, Humble, TX (Stuart Appleby) I'm still ticked that they moved the former WGC-AmEx Championship to Doral permanently. The AmEx was the only one of the three big WGC tournaments that was routinely held overseas.
  8. Standard. More traffic = higher table minimums. If you're a cheapskate and like to play the tables, don't go to a casino on Friday or Saturday evenings.
  9. "You're special" is right up there with "you're smart" as far as bad compliments for kids go. Praise them for effort and achievement instead.
  10. Well, I said Ottawa over Calgary before the season started, and I'm...not sticking with that prediction. I'll take Sens and Ducks right now.
  11. Nice pick. I was torn between him and Freel.
  12. They won the top seed in the SEC and let down a bit. It might hurt their seeding (although I doubt it, especially if they win the SEC tournament), but I can understand how it might happen. I have no doubt they'll gear back up for the Dance.
  13. Also, I didn't pick until this morning.
  14. That's what I thought. I had PR marked down as having keepers in 10 and 11 as well.
  15. No, lots of people do that. The minimum bet for the "outside" bets (red/black, odd/even, first 18/second 18, etc.) is usually a fair bit higher than betting the numbers, though.
  16. That's it?? What a horrible decision. I'd rather have Gary Roberts than a late first-rounder. Even worse, not only did the Sens not get Roberts, but they gave him to what's shaping up to be their first-round playoff opponent.
  17. I would think none, since he was only 16 and his career hadn't yet started. Jerry Jarrett was the promoter for the CWA, which was an NWA territory, so that might be how he could have been in the building.
  18. Wow, this is tons better than last year.
  19. Was everyone watching the Oscars this week? I'm glad Kevin and Drew were eliminated. As much as I like them, Drew just wasn't into it at all, either physically or mentally. Hopefully Mirna & Schmirna (SO glad that caught on with everyone!) and Kentucky will be the next two out, in whatever order. They were both just horrid this episode. And Danielle needs to keep wearing what she was wearing as long as possible.
  20. I'll finish up the eighth round with: Ryan Freel, 2B/3B/OF, Reds I have a keeper in the ninth round, so Precious Roy is up.
  21. What a strange, strange series.
  22. I don't think there's any keeping Syracuse out now. Huge win over Georgetown tonight.
  23. It used to be, before the salary cap. Last year was just a whole lot of nothing. I expect this year to be pretty much the same.
