  1. Does Bryant Gumbel even know what it means to turn the ball over on downs?
  2. Big time OT win for Ottawa tonight, after getting totally outplayed by Toronto. I was impressed at how well the callups from the Marlies fit into the Leafs lineup.
  3. Oh well. Looks like it'll be Seattle vs. whoever loses the NFC East and the Giants vs. whoever wins the NFC East in the first round. I'm stoked, can you tell?
  4. Well, they beat Minnesota twice, Detroit twice, Miami, Arizona and San Fran. There is no way that even three of those teams are winning tomorrow. But, the Redskins are making a really nice comeback here. Hopefully the Giants keep playing with both hands around their throat.
  5. The rest... Denver - 26 Philadelphia Baltimore New Orleans Houston Dallas Chicago Kansas City Indianapolis New England N.Y. Jets Cincinnati Seattle St. Louis San Diego Denver
  6. File that under reasons why WCW is no longer in business. This, too...the one, the only -- THE SHOCKMASTER!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7HLCrp1tk4&NR
  7. Depends on who they're playing. Denver and Jacksonville both have the potential to run it down Indy's throat. The Jags should have swept the Colts this year.
  8. They were sentenced to 18 months back in September, but they appealed and a hearing is set for February.
  9. Ding dong, the tyrant's dead. Amazingly, only five people had him, none as a Best Bet. FINAL STANDINGS 560 - Ortonsault **WINNER** 480 - Princess Leena 380 - CanadianChris, Frank Nabbit 360 - Evolution 340 - Carnival 320 - KOAB 280 - FFMS 240 - Ced 220 - NYU 200 - Hawk 34, Spaceman Spiff 180 - Boobie, Brian, GreatWhiteNope, The Czech Republic, Vern Gagne 160 - gWIL, spman 140 - MarvinisaLunatic, Will Scarlet 80 - jwpeer, Ravenbomb 20 - Milky
  10. Saddam's dead. Commence with the replacement picks. Any replacement pick submitted after 11:59 PM Sunday will be rejected.
  11. He cheered for whatever team suited him at the time. I could never take him seriously after he cheered for Texas in the Rose Bowl last year.
  12. Great defence for the second night in a row. Sens sweep the NY teams at home by the combined score of 3-0. The Battle of Ontario resumes tomorrow night. None of the previous four games have been close (Ott 4-1, Tor 6-0, Ott 6-2, Ott 7-2).
  13. I'll take the Giants tomorrow. Still undecided about the rest.
  14. For Christmas: Seinfeld season 5 How I Met Your Mother season 1 Since: The Office (BBC) complete series Batman Begins Beverly Hills Cop box set Bullshit! season 3 For the wife: Law & Order: Criminal Intent season 2 M*A*S*H seasons 8-11 MacGyver seasons 5-7
  15. The Oregon State win was even more important in Bored's contest for me now that Purdue is stinking it up.
  16. I'd feel a lot better if Flik posted his picks here. I hate having to wait to see what games are different. And some of these spreads are heinous.
  17. Sure, why not? What's one more injury? At this rate, Muckler will be signing Alexandre Daigle out of Europe to play centre for the Sens. Team Canada chalked up a pretty easy win against the Germans and clinched a bye to the semifinals.
  18. MY GOD what a finish in the Sun Bowl. Oregon State came back from 14 down with 8 minutes left, scored the second TD with about 20 seconds left...then WENT FOR THE TWO POINT CONVERSION AND MADE IT. Mike Riley has gigantic hairy balls for making that call.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/boxing/ne...tory?id=2713735 Now, this doesn't surprise me completely -- nothing about Tyson surprises me anymore -- but I didn't think the next thing Iron Mike would be hitting the news for would be drugs.
  20. Clark for Thurmond is fine. Ali as your Best Bet is fine.
  21. You mean Strom Thurmond? Because he died three years ago.
  22. If Saddam dies before the end of the year, yes, he can be replaced.
  23. Yes, but I'm saying they should only have coverage for Seattle and Tampa Bay. It's virtually a nothing game -- Seattle is locked into hosting a game on wild-card weekend. Panthers/Saints looks a lot more interesting. Show that game to most of the rest of the country.
  24. They should have a rule this time of year that no game without serious playoff implications can be seen anywhere outside the two teams' immediate home markets. Why should Idaho and Oregon be subjected to the unmitigated suck of the Seahawks/Bucs game?
