Amali from Australian Idol was hot though.

I'm going to appoint myself as the best Australian poster on here. I wouldn't have said that before, but it was the Australians who ruined this thread. I'm ashamed.

I heard about this, too. I also heard Bill is hard to work with -- him and Harold Ramis had a falling out doing Ghostbuster movies, or so I heard, too... But Ramis directed Groundhog Day, which came out after both Ghostbusters flicks.

Absolutely Fabulous (in its early years) and Blackadder also. The final World War One episode of Blackadder is one of the best episodes of television I've ever seen.

See, that's a far more effective way of getting a rise out of Beatles fans. I commend you!

What do you do when a woman says "No"? Break her in half! Hey! This misogynism in the name of humour is awesome! Let's keep it up, because there's nothing quite as funny as domestic abuse!

I don't remember Robert Bolt ever having said that.

For me, Spielberg's greatest movies are Schindler's List, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Jaws, Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade, Close Encounters Of The Third Kind, ET, Catch Me If You Can and Jurassic Park. Saving Private Ryan disgusts me, and I believe Shakespeare In Love deserved to beat that piece of filth (though Life Is Beautiful should have won overall). Of those I mentioned as it being between, I narrowed it down to Schindler's List and Raiders Of The Lost Ark. The former I love because it is such a brilliantly artistic piece, whereas the latter is just an entertaining yarn which you can watch no matter what the mood. After much deliberation, my vote went to Raiders.

I think J Geils Band were a one hit wonder over here, anyway. Maybe not elsewhere (though, now I think about it, I think Freeze Frame was a modest hit).

Also makes Meryl Streep a terrible actor.

I have no idea who will win. As I see my country is about to be destroyed domestically, I, along with the rest of the world really, sincerely hope that Kerry wins. However, I have no idea if Americans will vote that way.

Obviously. And yes, sorry to repeat this section for the third time, but I too was incredibly amused by that. As for him being the greatest actor of all time, I say no way. Possibly one of the most overrated. I find him so incredibly overbearing and intolerable in so much that he does. When with a great director who can keep him balanced, he'll be great (see: Roman Polanski, "Chinatown"; Stanley Kubrick, "The Shining"). But I can honestly say, those two aside, Nicholson has only managed to not irritate me immensely in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, As Good As It Gets, A Few Good Men and About Schmidt. To say he's the greatest actor of all time is to be incredibly ignorant of the crap he does, and the great things others do. Of those mentioned in this thread so far, I would take De Niro, Pacino, Brando, Grant, Stewart and Hackman over Nicholson.

There are anal tetanus shots? I've only ever had one needle in my arse, and I honestly don't remember what it was for. Not a tetanus shot though. Whoa, tetanus. I only just noticed that.

spiny norman replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in General Chat
I live in Australia. We tell kids who come trick-or-treating to bugger off. It's not a holiday we recognise, we usually don't have anything to give them, and why should they celebrate a holiday that isn't in our tradition? We don't celebrate July 4th. Idiot kids. -
Yes, bloody singers giving political opinions! This is a new habit amongst them and must be stopped immediately!

Kylie is about the furthest thing from a one hit wonder here. Bloody Americans. Feargal Sharkey - A Good Heart The Knack - My Sharona A-Ha - Take On Me Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen J Geils Band - Centrefold

50,000 seconds of analysis equates to a little less than 14 hours. I highly doubt godthedog spent that long analysing your post.

Your grasp of the English language in spelling, grammar and definition is downright terrible. I have nothing else to add, because I see no need to defend myself from someone who has the articulation capabilities of a ten year old.

Eric Idle wasn't in A Fish Called Wanda.

I'll rank the capitals from worst to best (never been to Hobart): Adelaide Canberra Darwin Brisbane Melbourne Perth Sydney Canberra at least has the parliament and the war memorial, plus a few other good places. I think Adelaide is the most boring city I've ever been to.

Rod Stewart - Maggie May. Does this song ever get old? I never seem to tire of it.

This is like a congregation for the worst posters currently here. All we're lacking is cynicalprofit, and then we would have the worst thread ever (unless he was telling us about how he'd just killed a guy, and was trying to escape the police and was here asking us for advice of the best places to hide out).

Michael Jackson - Thriller.

Adelaide?

No he wasn't. The director before Kubrick was, and then Kirk Douglas, having already worked with Kubrick on Paths Of Glory (that should be on this list, by the way), assigned Kubrick to do the film. He did most of it. And Kubrick more or less did all the cinematography too. Anyway, my vote went to A Clockwork Orange. Narrowly beating 2001 and Strangelove.
