I just went to mlb.com and clicked on "Transactions". ESPN.com has a list as well. There were far too many unknown guys who were involved in deals and were impossible to find on the game, so I skipped a lot of that stuff. I mainly performed the major trades and signed whomever needed to be signed from the free agent pool. It's close enough for me.

I'll be getting ESPN today or tomorrow, Lushus, so if no one else gets both and offers a comparison by then, I will. I'll also post links to reviews once they're up. As for my progress in MVP, I've played about 8 games, mostly rivalry matchups with different teams. I've lost a couple, but I'm getting better. I just finished making all the major roster moves that happened after the cutoff date and I'm starting a franchise. I decided to go with Owner mode over Dynasty since it seems like the Owner mode is much more in-depth. The only difference I saw in Dynasty was the ability to play 120 seasons rather than 30, but I don't sim so I won't make anywhere close to that. It's disappointing that I can't play fewer than 162 games, but at the pace I've been going, maybe I'll actually finish a full length season. Is anyone insane enough to play every single game of a season, including every minor league game? I'm tempted, but I know I'd never finish. I'll play every major league game and probably play minors every once in a while. Now I'm off to start my White Sox franchise. I may update later.

I move away from Illinois and they get WrestleMania there. Oh well... maybe I can still get tickets to 21 off eBay.

GameFAQs reports that you can only play 5 innings in ranked games on Live for MVP. Unranked games can go to 9 innings, however. That's pretty ridiculous.

I just got home with the Xbox version of MVP. I usually go with Take 2 over EA in every sport, so hopefully I won't be disappointed. Anyone have a handy short list of trades/signings that need to be made to make rosters realistic before entering a season? Also, why isn't Barry Bonds in this game?

Team Xbox has a review for MVP up. MVP Review (8.8/10) The only thing that bothers me is this- They don't mention online leagues/seasons. They don't deny that they're in, but they don't verify them either. I've checked out various videos and info for both MVP and ESPN and MVP is looking better, but I need to be able to play in a league on Live.

I've considered buying that since I was going to pick up Rainbow Six 3 for $20 so I could try it out, but then I figured that there was no point since I already own Splinter Cell and the other 2 games would cost the same amount as that 3 pack anyway. One thing I've been wondering, though- Do all the games come in individual cases, or is it like the NCAA/Top Spin split disc?

MVP Baseball 2005 from EA Sports was shipped today, 2/22. Some stores got copies in this evening, while others (such as my local game stores) will not be receiving them until tomorrow. In order to counter the moving up of the release date, 2K games ahs announced that Major League Baseball 2K5 will be shipped/released on 2/23/05. Great... Now I can read reviews of both before deciding what to get. I'm really tempted to buy both, but there are too many other games I want to buy. Then again, I probably shouldn't buy anything since I haven't even played 4-5 of the games I've bought recently... but whatever. Please post thoughts and opinions if any of you buy either game.

I got the game used for $5 in November and I still haven't played it. I have about 5 games I haven't even started yet. I really need to stop purchasing games, as well as spending all these hours on the computer and Halo 2's Live play. You'd better hurry up and finish Pandora Tomorrow. Chaos Theory's out next month, I believe.

That appears to be the plan according to Torch sources today, with the billing being "Legend Killer vs. Legend." I always thought that this would be an interesting match, but I didn't see them going with it for WrestleMania. I don't really know how they'd set it up by the time April rolls around. The match wouldn't be too great from a workrate standpoint, but it could mean a lot for Orton's career if he beat the Undertaker at WrestleMania. That probably wouldn't be likely, though.

I stayed home to watch Raw and play games on Xbox Live while the Zoloft kept me happy and not worrying about my failed engagement. At least I didn't have to resort to alcohol this year! I'm improving. It's actually a good thing that most of my relationships seem to end before Valentine's Day and/or begin after it. Saves me money I don't have.
