I think they should have kept the angle going for another couple of months, to the point where both Jericho and Christian are fucking Lita and Trish on a regular basis. Things are looking cozy until one day, a face, say the Hurricane catches Jericho and Christian getting ready to "close the deal" and end the bet. He informs the girls but they don't believe him. They continue to see Jericho and Christian, until one day, Vitamin C purposely lets Lita and Trish catch them with other girls. One backstage heel promo later we have Vitamin C over as huge heels. It's also revealed that Matt Hardy was in on it too, as Christian helped broker his deal to RAW to help him with Lita. The girls try to get fiesty in a fit of anger and they are beaten down until Hurricane or whoever saves them. This puts Hurricane over as more of a face and they can have him and some other faces feud with X/Jericho/Hardy.

When people want you to "Go Away" they don't respond, see Orton, Randy, Cade, Garrison, and Jindrak, Mark. Giving people heat ensures they are always there to rile up the crowd.

What face turn? They had X-Pac act like the same old asshole X-Pac except he was going out against heatless Alliance jobbers. Someone was going to get some heel heat and the asshole everyone knew was going to be the one to get it. He never TRIED to act like a face, except one promo where he acknowledged he was an asshole and said he was a WWF asshole, and guess what, the crowd cheered. And X-Factor was NEVER a face group. In fact, Albert and Pac was the only WWF heels during the Alliance angle.
