WWE General Discussion - September 2007
Cherry Blossom Viscount replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
And why are you assuming they did? No report has even hinted at such so you're reaching with your theory more than anyone else. Using your technique I could say that Murdoch called them pickaninnies and told them to carry their bags. Come on now. -
WWE General Discussion - September 2007

It could be that Cryme Time was unprofessional, or, or, it COULD be the other way around.... PWTorch.com reports that the Cryme Tyme release stemmed from actions the tag team performed following their Terre Haute house show match against Cade and Murdoch. According to the Torch report, the two teams had reportedly been developing heat with each other over the course of the past few weeks. That built into an incident prior to the match, in which Shad Gaspard told Lance Cade that "what happens in the ring happens," essentially implying that there might be some stiff shots exchanged. Cade mocked Gaspard's threat in front of a number of wrestlers backstage. (PWInsider.com later reported that other sources believe Cade made the first remark after Cryme Tyme struggled to grasp the plans for the match finish backstage. The PWInsider report says Gaspard's comment was in response to Cade saying something like, "see what happens in the ring.") In order to get back at Cryme Tyme for what they perceived as a threat, Cade and Murdoch met with the referee and arranged a rib. Essentially, the plan was to "fast count" while JTG was out of the ring, resulting in a count out loss for Cryme Tyme; Cryme Tyme was unaware of this plan until it was executed in front of the live audience. In what sources say was a move to save face, Cryme Tyme then decided, without telling the referee, to execute their finishing move on him (they reportedly did so safely, but it was still unexpected). They also tossed his belt into the crowd. Words were exchanged in the backstage area following the segment, and WWE management eventually made the call to release Cryme Tyme, who were reportedly on thin ice with management anyway due to what some backstage perceived as an attitude problem. The tag team was reportedly unhappy and surprised with WWE's decision. The increased scrutiny on WWE stemming from the Benoit tragedy, the Congressional investigation and the recent steroid controversy has resulted in a zero-tolerance policy backstage. Now, you all are piling on Cryme Time for being unprofessional, when Cade and Murdoch went and changed a FUCKING finish with the help of a referee. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't WWE JUST institute a policy where refs would be held accountable to making sure the finishes went as planned and they'd be fined if they didn't? So, not only did Cade and Murdoch get away with changing a finish and "exposing the business" (I'm sure the fans all noticed the blatant screw job), but the ref got away with violating another of the WWE's toothless policies. I think CT did a good job at the end by making the screw job look "planned" by doing the move on the ref and throwing his belt away. That seems to fit WWE's locker room justice mentality to a tee. And people were mentioning how "easy" it would be to get another tag team that's as over as CT was. First, CT wrestled only a handful of times. They were introduced through a series of vignettes, wrestled a few times, reduced to backstage skits, taken off TV for MONTHS, and returned to only do a few backstage and in ring skits. Yet, they were more over (by miles) than the extremely heavily pushed tag team champs, one of which has never been over in his seemingly endless incarnations. Lance Cade, I'm talking to you. Even tonight, the face to face between the Rednecks and Londrick was lacking heat, and um, one of the teams is over. Guess which one. Yes, CT should have been punished, but in an environment with very few over tag teams, they should have been suspended or asked to work a few house shows for free. As for the Rednecks, they need to lose the tag titles for interfering with a match finish and resulting in the loss of a much needed tag team. But, whatever. -

When did he go from kicking babies to bad hygene(sp?)? I just remember him coming out on ECW one day with a shaved head and Tazz was like, "Ugh, that smell."

You know, one of the main arguments against religion is that it is the root cause of violence, intolerence, and a litany of atrocities unmatched in human history. However, when proponents of this argument bring it to the forefront, they temporarily toss out another of their main arguments; religion is a man made tool created to control the masses. Well, by saying religion is the root cause of seemingly all the bad things in the universe, your average atheist is saying that religion is the cause of the corruption and not the human who uses it as a tool or shield to promote or act on intolerant views. Atheists use the logical fallacy of "well, since religion caused of all of these atrocties in the past, if it never existed, this would have never happened and the world would be better off for it." Well, not exactly. You see, that's using the same logic people use when decrying firearms. If guns didn't exist, there wouldn't be so many people dying and maimed. Well, perhaps, but it's more logical to think that another weapon would have taken it's place in the killing fields. Also, they are sparing the human the responsibility of creating and using the weapon. It's merely a tool. If you're not a person of faith, you most likely view religion as a tool. Man was obviously here first and he created that tool based on his human nature. If you were to go back in time to stop man from creating various religions, the world would not be better for it, something else that would divide us would be put into play to start the cycle all over. Look at Hitler; the atrocities he committed were not based on religion, but science, eugenics to be exact. He did not care about the religion of Judaism, he was disgusted by the Jews as a people, a species. His regime committed one of the largest genocides in recorded history in the name of science. Animals are devoid of religion, and you don't see them holding hands and singing Kum-ba-yah. From a purely scientific standpoint, it's in our nature to be divided and oppresive to those who we deem different. You take religion out of the equation and there will just be something else to divide us. Atheists need to cease with promoting the illogical theory that religion is the cause of human suffering. Human nature is the cause of human suffering. Would we better if we did not exist?

I'm not going to put him up there with the greats just because of a couple of great matches with Benoit, but really, the guy has been capable during his entire WWE run. This is amazing to me because when they signed the guy, I heard nothing but bad things about him on here saying he could not work nor could he talk very well. What happened? When did MVP become good?
-
Wow, they definitely see eye to eye on that issue. Guess she didn't see that one coming, eh? But you know, love is blind right? I'm sure he was very upset after the fact, he probably said "look what you made me do?!" But I did hear he might get off because there were no eyewitnesses. Someone might as well put up an Eye-pod track listing.

I've been installing this game for five hours, and I still have a huge 159MB file to download using the sensationally slow Blizzard Downloader. But I guess that's my bad for doing this on the day Burning Crusade comes out.

Michael Hayes named Head Writer of Smackdown
Cherry Blossom Viscount replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
I prefer King Booker over the DX 2 Hour Marathon that is RAW. And this is from someone who is a fan of HHH. King Booker is campy, but this is pro wrestling for goodness sakes. And Booker has never been booked as a smart heel, so for him to win a "major" event like KOTR, it is only natural for him to become delusional and adopt a gimmick such as the masterpiece we see before us. -
$1.93, $1.94, and $1.95 in Southwest Houston in an area where three stations clustered together are having a price war. The avergae price is between $2.04 and $2.19.

No Holds Barred (Feedback & Voting)
Cherry Blossom Viscount replied to Lt. Al Giardello's topic in Site Feedback
Um, no it wasn't. The original purpose of the NHB folder was to rid the WWE of an endless parade of anti-HHH, anti-WWE posts and cliquish behavior (HHHaters anyone?). The WWE folder was allowed to return to normal non-HHHate conversation and flaming HHH, WWE, and eventually other posters became the main purpose of NHB. Most early flame wars were between the lame HHHaters (I mean really, an internet clique of grown men devoted to hating HHH for his machinations in a pre determined sport replete with matching banners) and the small but extremely vocal minority of HHH supporters and those tired of overbearing posters like Anglesault who was at one time a demigod around here. -
I guess it's really time for me to change my screename.
-
Oh yeah; Orton is over. Sorry guys.
-
Why, because he's reversing the dramatic and embarassing downturn wrestling has experienced over the past several years instead of just drawing huge, but uterly meaningless nostalgia pops a naked prostitute could garner by rolling down the ramp and sticking a crack needle in her arm? Is that why?

WP was on the cusp of surpassing DJ Jeff as the best "personality" gimmick created on the board, but he blew it by going overboard. The attention was just to much for him.
-
I guess you're right. I suppose I've come to expect alot from this particular group of actors.
-
I basically said that a few pages ago. Anywhoodles, the whole "cousin" storyline WP is trying to insert here just shows that he's running out of semi normal material. The WP gimmick was better when he was more of an overbearing naive nerd like character, somewhat normal, yet clueless. But now it seems Vince McMahon and Vince Russo have commandeered the gimmick and taking it into Randy Orton levels of creepiness. But at least Leena might like that.
-
Are you referring to "The Break-Up" as the other bomb? I assume so. I think this means that at least one of them (most likely Owen) will need to take a drastically different role then what they normally do. "Owen Wilson as Owen Wilson" isn't going to fly much longer. I meant "You Me and Dupree." Maybe it didn't bomb as badly as I thought, but then you have to imagine what the Wilson Brothers are asking per movie now seeing as how the rest of the Frat Pack have been a role for a few years now, particularly Ferrel and Vaughn.
-
Two members of the "Frat Pack" have bombed almost back to back. Is this the end?
-
Well, compared to WP, you are. And you must be a tad offended to even respond, particularly since I wasn't even insulting you. Anywhoodles, there was a time I do believe that you were considered one of the worst posters here. It seems you have moved beyond that, kudos. Mend those feelings old chap, it's just the internet as someone once said.
-
Aaargh, wrong quote.
-
WP is just following in the footsteps of people like Milky who were once just odd usernames amongst thousands, who, after revealing a number of odd (and sometimes disturbing) facts, became very popular posters. I don't think anyone remembers Milky before he revealed he was a bi sexual sex addict.
-
I don't know why you all feed self depreciating gimmicks like DJ Jeff and Wild Pegasus, particularly the latter. WP was a normal, often ignored member of this forum for quite some time until he adopted this gimmick and his stock has been rising ever since. It's sad because WP has so much noteriety that Kingofthe909 is basically a nobody next to him and is seemingly leeching off of his endless heat. Pardon the wrestling reference. If you really want to get rid of WP, ignore him. As of right now, however, like DJ Jeff before him, he's playing you so call "cool" posters like fools.

It's funny that during the periods WWE tried to embarrass Henry into quitting, he was always in perfect health, but when it's time for a monster push, he gets injured. And I don't believe this is the end of Henry by a long shot. This is the second monster push where he has drawn a good reaction from the crowd. It's not X-Pac heat. A good example of X-Pac heat if you want to believe it exists is John Cena and I've seen morons here say that it's somehow reinvigorated his character. If a heel is getting booed, that's good. A face, the top face at that, getting booed is not.
-
Yeah, I hate that shit too.
