The Worst Wrestling Show of All-Time
Placebo Effect replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
How could they have expected the fans to react positively to JBL vs. Eddie after witnessing the brutal and heinous .... ummm .... concreting of Paul Bearer? -
The Ongoing TNA Global Impact Thread

They took the fast forward bar away, I could really care less what Jeremy Borash has to say. No fast forward? RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE -
I imagine they'll blow off Jarrett/Sting two or three PPVs from now. Knowing TNA, he'll probably do a feud with Abyss.

You're both wrong. His three-minute appearance as a lawyer in Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trickbaby tops the list. In the middle of a crowded waiting area his female client, who is handcuffed to the bench she's sitting on, jerks him off while his jacket is kept over his crotch.

Smackdown Spoilers for the 5/5 Airing
Placebo Effect replied to BorneAgain's topic in The WWE Folder
How low were Thunder's ratings in the dying days of WCW? I don't see Smackdown lasting too much longer as a show if it keeps on pulling those kind of ratings in. Generally just below a 2.0 if I remember correctly. -

It was a fun little show. I could've done without the Gymini match though. -

How much has Niles improved since his days tagging with Jude? -
Hmmm... What match will The Great Khali interfere in? I'll go with Scotty and Funaki's match.

Movies you liked as a kid...
Placebo Effect replied to Man Who Sold The World's topic in Television & Film
1. The Monster Squad 2. Blank Check 3. Nearly all the Friday the 13th films Umm... Not sure of any others. -
It was on Thunder, and it was hilarious. Raven's slouching in the corner, cutting his usual depressed promo, when all of a sudden some nut runs up behind him (from outside of the ring) and pulls his hair. Security tackles him immediately, and Raven just gives this, "What the fuck?" look and then continues on with the promo.

Eh. Give it a chance. If it fails, it fails. Do you own stock in WWE? Will it tarnish the good name of ECW if it bombs? If it succeeds, well, then we've got another hour of TV to watch a week. And I'll be damn happy about that.

Why can't they at least give them credit in the one area WCW undisputably handled better than WWF/E ever has. I think you're forgetting about Duane Gill -- Lightheavyweight Champion.

Wasn't RVD vs. Sabu from Wrestlepalooza notorious in its day for being a sheer example of what happens when spot wrestling goes horribly wrong?

This Week in Wrestling History, at least on Heat, is Stephanie McMahon being kidnapped by Undertaker and then rescued from "The Undertaker's symbol" by Austin.

credit: PWInsider.com It's a damn good sign that Ticketmaster is a shitty company.

Sean Stasiak: A feud between him an A1 would result in some fantastic promos. Madusa: Have her introduce the Woman's Title to TNA. Mike Enos: The number of "Anus" jokes that Konnan could do with the man is reason enough. Prince Iaukea: Put him in a feud with Samoa Joe over who has the best strikes in the business. Mark Jinrak: Jindrak's about as tall as Abyss, so he can come in as Abyss' arch nemesis.

Reading that interview makes me want to punch Ivory in the face.

Nastiest head drops in wrestling history.
Placebo Effect replied to The Mandarin's topic in General Wrestling
Lizzy Borden's XPW table bump, where the back of her head hit the corner of the table and the rest of her body hit the ground. This was off of a Vic Grimes, off the top rope powerbomb to the floor too. XPW, ever the geniuses, don't have video of it. Well, they have the shot from the stage of the ECW Arena, but Lizzy's impact is completely covered by the fans, one of whom is myself. I thought Lizzy was going to be paralyzed from it. -
"I give to charities and stuff like that." So sincere.

No, it won't.

The marketing behind American Dreamz was God awful. No one cares about Dennis Quaid. Hugh Grant was pushed to the side. People who are American Idol fans likely saw the film as being insulting to them. People who dislike American Idol have no interest in seeing a movie that makes fun of it. People who are into political satire are generally going to be turned off by the American Idol concept as a whole. I'm not shocked it bombed. I went to the theaters for the first time since The Aristocrats and saw ... Take The Lead. Yeah, it was a female friend's birthday.

In other news, expect a news update tomorrow that explains how three members of Team Japan will no longer be participating in the tournament.

You've missed out on a lot of *** 1/2 Snitsky matches.

I've done a total 180 on Burchill, with most of the hate coming from his hideous ring outfit and the ugly hair. When he was in the pirate garb and had his hair straightened, he looked the part. Now he's just an average wrestler with a gimmick that's going nowhere in an angle that's probably going to go nowhere. They protected Khali well tonight. As long as they keep this up his first match with Undertaker will probably draw well.
