Vince Russo says a whole lot of nothing in the ring, and out to a rip off of "Come Out and Play," is Raven, and... Sabu? Yuck. Standard complaining about his lack of match. Russo: "What you do from Thursday to Tuesday I have no idea." Raven: "You don't want to know." Apparently there's a tournament for the Tag Titles next week. Raven doesn't want that. Vince offers Raven a spot in the Battle Royal. Nope. Vince offers Raven a spot in the Abyss/AJ Styles match. Nope. He "shouldn't have to qualify." Raven wants Harris taken out of the match because he's not ready, and him put in his place. Despite the crowd's cheering, Russo won't take Harris' opportunity away. Raven brings up politicking, with Russo denying that happening. Raven promises Vince that by the end of the night, he'll have his full attention.

Kazarian wins a decent enough match with a pull of the tights, and attacks Skipper after the match. Jerry Lynn makes the save, and no mention is made of the mystery man.
-
Kazarian vs. Skipper is up now. Chris Sabin suffered knee ligament damage in the Mexico's X-Cup tag match, and it's not known how long he'll be out. Team Japan will face Mexico on April 7th. No details yet.

The pilot episode leaked on Suprnova three months back, and trust me, the show is worth a watch. Fucking hilarious at times, with an interesting premise to boot.

As the resident direct-to-video guru (I write Your Video Store Shelf over at 411), I have to correct you. After the success of Cruel Intentions, Fox decided to make a prequel in the form of a television show calling it Manchester Prep. Unfortunately, they decided to schedule it for 8:00 and in its preview, show a (clothed) girl orgasming while on top of a horse. Someone at Fox got a peek at it, and before you knew it, it was quickly eliminated from the fall schedule before it even aired, with three episodes in the can. They essentially formed a movie out of those three episodes, likely filming some new material, but mostly sticking to what was already done. I've yet to see Wild Things 2, as Columbia Tristar won't get me product for a couple more weeks, but I'm sort of looking forward to it. Better than Universal, who has spawned both The Skulls 3 and Bring it on Again in recent months.

........ I still do not believe ROH is being 100% honest. The statement by Hyjinx was certainly interesting. Was Rob trying to get sympathy out of the fourteen year old by talking about his past relationships going bad? Is it more of him being a compulsive liar? Or is Hyjinx lying out of his recently pounded ass?
-
Just a promotional tie-in with some movie/comic book/tv show or something. He came out once on Thunder, tossed some stuff out, and then never came back. That's what I think was the case.

And by the way, here's an interesting little article. http://www.wrestling-news.com/artman/publi...icle_2179.shtml If what they say is true, then it kind of contradicts what Gabe said earlier on the ROH website. While I can't get to it right now, because, for whatever reason, it's down at the moment, didn't he say that "a board" voted Rob off of ROH or whatnot? Can a journalist please address this if I'm correct in what I believe I read?

And while Mike's here, where the hell is in my Internet glory in the form of a "credit to" when it comes to the Rex Plex "rumor." I was the motherfucker who did what none of the wrestling journalists did, and actually made half-ballsy phone calls to someone demanding an a honest answer. And you can feel free to shrug this off, but I feel that the lack of tact shown by journalists in this situation is riciculous. Myself, who has no experience dealing in getting news besides for my work with film/music publicists, was able to get a news tidbit by simply calling the venue, a task that took all of two minutes. It's as if, besides for Bob Magee (who pussed out on the entire matter), wrestling reporters sit with their mouth's gaped wide when it comes time to deal with someone not in the business. The Thursday morning after the report aired, phonecalls should've been immediately made, with one of them being to the venues to get their opinions on the situation. That's Journalism 101 Mike, and that goes to every reporter, not just you. To present it as a "rumor" shows pure laziness on the part of everyone at that, and others', websites. When presented with something like this, a journalist's first reaction should be to go to the source. Going to the source, as I'm sure you know, allows not only that information to be confirmed/denied, but also the possibility of the inclusion of more info, such as the fact that ROH called in a crisis management company. I obtained this news Thursday afternoon, and was posted (at least the Rex Plex part) around various boards by early Friday morning. There's absolutely no reason why it shouldn't have been confirmed. Just my two cents, which I'll likely get thrown into one of 411's news reports during the week.

Debra Auctioning Off Austin Wedding Ring
Placebo Effect replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in General Wrestling
I refuse to believe that the golddigging bitch would allow prenups in both of her marriages. I'm sure she's well off. Austin (or WWE) is probably paying her off to prevent her from going on NBC the next time they do a hate story on wrestling to link the stresses of wrestling to domestic violence. -
No, no, no. There is a large gap between the ages of 14 and 17 when it comes to responsiblity, knowledge, power, etc. Had P-J gone after Rob as a 17 year old guy with the body of a twenty year old, I wouldn't fault him, and I'd vehemently defend him. But FOURTEEN. Also, the way they portrayed this kid didn't make him out to be experienced, smart, i.e., not different from any other fourteen year old. Rob's 28, this kid's 14, BIG difference. I'm sure some of this is coming from Rob being gay, but it is definitely not on my part.

Remember, that this is just day two of what is sure to be a long series of fallout from this happening. As I mentioned, they hired a crisis management team to come in, and are likely formulating plans right now. When it comes to drawing up contracts, making agreements, checking out legalities, etc., it takes more than a day. There is no excuse for ROH's slipshod way of handling this ("obstable"). If Rob isn't out by next Saturday, then one of ROH's biggest shows ever will not happen, according to the Rex Plex. The man I spoke to was very concerned, considering that he has kids of his own. Something more substantial than this will end up happening in the next couple days.

According to Bob Barnett one of them is probably Cary Silkin of Mr. Tickets Inc. pictured below with gray hair: I actually read that soon after making the post, and gave a call to Mr. Tickets. Cary was out for the day, and the person who answered the phone had no idea who Rob Feinstein is, though I chalk that up to Cary (if he's involved) simply not talking business matters with the guy answering the phone. I plan to give another call tomorrow afternoon.

NEWS I did my own investigative journalism, as I spoke to a Mike who deals with what is the closest thing to public relations for the Rex Plex, the venue that ROH is running next week. According to him, ROH is a three-man partner between Rob, and two other men named Sydney and Kasey (or Karey, didn't catch it in full). Gabe's name was never mentioned, so we can dissolve all hope that Gabe has part ownership in the company. The Rex Plex is requiring a noterized letter from Ring of Honor that Rob has been dissolved from the company. They HAVE employed a crisis management service, straight out of Manhatten. Since I do not have an account at DVDR, I'd appreciate someone posting this there, as I assume it holds some merit.

Disgruntled tape trader/agent for Vampiro who has a long standing "feud" with Feinstein.

From the DVD message board earlier in the day... "hehehehehehe I called it Ring of Homos right from the first show" Pedophilia != homosexuality

Mad TV had a hilarious skit at that time when network executives decided that people were liking the Pizza Place, but thought that the Two Guys & Girl needed to go. So essentially, the show turned into a security camera angled view of a pizza shop, with the ratings going down for things like the soda machine bring broken. Odd, but it got a good laugh out of me.

Actually the NWA Wildside World Champion. He pulled double duty in the past week as a jobber, losing to Simon Diamond on this weekend's Xplosion.
-
Actually...he still isn't very good on 2 Guys and a Girl. He came a long way as an actor since then. I actually just watched Nathan in a decent direct-to-video thriller Water's Edge, that I assume he filmed after Firefly wrapped up.

The "What Film(s) Did You Watch Today" Thread
Placebo Effect replied to a topic in Television & Film
I've been sleeping very little in the past couple days in preparation for Your Video Store Shelf: Animalia Gone Wild, which is an extension of my 411Mania column. As a result, I've been watching nothing but crappy animal flicks for the past couple days. Yesterday: Darkwolf Tail Sting Webs Curse of the Komodo Today: Bugs Python Pythons 2 Boa No ratings because I haven't written reviews for them, and that's when I decide on a rating. And I've still got quite a few more to go... -
Very cool to see someone else doing this. I do the TNA Xplosion recap for 411, though right now I schedule it for Monday afternoon in order to plug Wednesday's PPV properly. Only TWO matches? Ugh.

Hell, if LeRoux is willing to come and hang out for no compensation, trout him out as a comedy character. One of things I loved about Russo when he was in WCW, was that the enormous talent pool he had allowed him to do absolutely stupid, but funny as hell, shit with guys who he knew people didn't want to see in the ring. If I wanted to waste ten minutes of life doing it, I could come up with fifteen ideas on how you could use the guy to their advantage without going beyond two minutes of TV time.

Never have truer words been spoken. I marked out when I saw them in the store, and then promptly threw them to the back of the pantry once I tasted them. Such a good idea, but terrible execution.

Exactly. Marla offered to adopt her, and wham, cut to fucking black, last episode ever. AHHHHHH! Thank God that Fox is too lazy to develop another show. And by the way, to whomever praised Oliver Beene, I have to partially agree. A lot of the jokes are way too campy, but I did enjoy this one. Oliver's looking at the palm of his hand. Older brother: Talking to your girlfriend? Oliver: What? Older brother: Ohhh. Wait a few years.

While I'm sure this has long since slipped past everyone's minds, there was a very interesting angle they ran on a RAW in 1998 or so where Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco were celebrating because Austin seriously injured himself at a house the previous night. McMahon then freaked out on them, making mention of how much money Austin brings in and such. Of course, it was never touched upon again, but so is wWE.
