Well, while I did enjoy Braveheart, I certainly don't consider it to be an historical account. Robert the Bruce is a far more important figure than William Wallace, and a better militiary strategist, something that is not at all touched on in the movie.

I think Bush's refusal to speak to Parliament is a backhanded response to the constant sniping from the Liberals (which Martin is a part of) towards him. Serves them right.

So, next week Bush is coming over to Canada. He'll attend a dinner at the Canadian Museum of Civilization, but it will be strictly business. The next day he'll be travelling to Halifax reportedly to thank them for opening their homes to American flight-goers stranded during 9/11 when US airspace was shut down. I live a couple hours from Halifax, but I won't be able to get there, but naturally this visit is all over the news here.

Snow is less a novelty then it is a hideous inconvience that cuts off your power, makes the roads dangerous, forces you to go outside and shovel the driveway, the whole time waiting for the plow to come and fill your driveway with snow again, makes you cold & wet, and in some cases (like mine) makes your job three times as hard. Sure, snow can be cool, if you're a kid who doesn't have to shovel and drive and work. And plus, snow days mean time to have fun, not time to sit around and think about how much money you're not making. As you may have noticed, I hate snow with an unbridled passion. I know exactly how you feel. Good damn NS winters.
