Good to see Shawn putting over the young talent. -
Yea- UnAmericans/HHH v. Taker/BookDust/Rock was awesome. I remember the crowd chanting We Want Taker and they went INSANE when he got the hot tag
-
This is my idea: Tell Holly to stiff the hell out of Nathan Jones and to initiate him into the WWE. Tell Nathan Jones that Holly is not allowed to stiff him under any circumstances and if he does- he's allowed to fight back using any means necessary

Norm is my personal hero etc and Fallon and Fey are nowhere near his greatness. I do like them better then Miller. The way Walken acts- his mere presence is funny. That's why all his shows seem to rock. The Walken/Agulera is one of my favourite and one of the most beloved SNL shows. "They don't hate you cause you're gay. They hate you cause you're Hitler.

Sorry UYI- my ego needs a bit of a fuck. Jerry Lynn vs Low Ki. Match Background: None. The Match: Lynn just WAFFLES Low Ki with a STIFF chop that hurt ME to watch! Jerry Lynn strikes Low Ki. Implant DDT by Jerry Lynn! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Implant DDT by Jerry Lynn! I will always and forever mark out for that move. Low Ki blocks a kick from Jerry Lynn. Hard impact Russian Leg Sweep by Low Ki. According to some other reviewers around here, 'legsweep' is one word. T-Bone suplex by Low Ki, Lynn got folded in half to the point that he was almost able to fellate himself. Mighty impressive, don't you think? Hooks the leg for a two count. Lynn backdrops Low Ki out of a piledriver attempt. That took a lot out of Jerry Lynn. Low Ki takes a NICE hurrancarana from Jerry Lynn. There's a two count on the pin. Tor-NADO DDT from Jerry Lynn, Low Ki got planted! Pinfall attempt: ONE...TWO...NO! I would have bought that as the finish! Lynn charges into the corner but EATS BOOT. Low Ki connects with a HARD right hand, sending the opponent down to the mat again. Lynn blocks a kick from Low Ki. THERE IT IS! A legdrop to the BACK OF THE HEAD! I swear, that makes any match just a little bit better. I don't mind telling you that every time I see it, that's for sure. Kaz Hayashi comes running down the aisle with a chair! Lynn goes to irish whip Low Ki into the ropes. Kaz hits Low Ki with a chair to the back! Low Ki can barely stand. Cradle To Grave!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! Kaz Hayashi remains in the ring. Low Ki pushes the referee away. Low Ki drops Kaz to the canvas. Low Ki quickly locks on the Dragon Clutch! My Opinion: This match had it all! Big bumps, incredible, crisp moves, sound psychology. Simply one of the best matches of the year. *****!

Again- you don't really know if it's Tina's fault. A lot of people forget that there are TWO head writers and an executive producer. While he may not have a scar or 4 million dollars- Dennis McNichols is a head writer too and deserves some of the flak if you hate the show and praise if you love the show. And in the end- if Lorne wants to do a skit where Horatio and Jimmy sit there and giggle- he will. All Tina can do is try to tweak it as best as possible.

Even Census Taker? I can't change your opinion so I guess it's just I like one thing and you like the other. Well Saturday Night Live is supposed to be hip. They're supposed to be on top of everything. Always right there to spoof and lampoon. I think the jokes have been the Fallon-Fey era's strongpoints. If they didn't have a crappy commentator every week then it would be much better. While Tina's Bush hating some times goes from making fun to downright hatred- it's still funny. Except for when Tina uses the word cooter (which she hasn't in a long time) I don't think WU is trying to push the boundaries at all and it's one thing I wish they would do more often. While Norm Macdonald wasn't afraid to rile up the crowd a bit and truly be mean with his jokes- I think that occasionaly Tina and Jimmy are too scared to offend and hold back. Here's an example: After 9.11 Tracy Morgan did a bit on how he enjoys racial profiling now that it's on Muslim people. It was hilarious and the crowd loved it and cheered- but it got cut. In Entertainment Weekly Tina said she cut it cause "The crowd laughed for the wrong reasons." They ended up airing the skit on the live show and it was altered a bit and some of the anti-Muslim humour was taken out. It wasn't as funny. In Norm's heyday this would not have happened. In fact the few times Norm got censored were stuff that was really really pushing it. I think that's one of the reasons why I loved the Rod Roddy jokes. Too many times Fallon and Fey have had the chances to be assholes and mock something that most people wouldn't- and they had passed on it. But here they were mocking a guy's death- and it was hilarious. I wish they would do more of that. The Jack Black show was a good show. People overrate the Birthday Show skit and it had a Lovers but it was a good solid show. That sounds good. I enjoy going back and forth with YNA over his SNL reviews and I love discussing any and all things SNL. Last season SNL was in a mini-slump and turned it around for good when a frequent hoster hosted and I hope the same happens this time. Alec should be a lot easier to write for then Andy Roddick. Another thing about the Tina hating- Tina can only do so much about the show. She, along with Dennis McNichols is the head writer/s of SNL. That basically means that she supervises the writing of skits and has a greater voice in what goes on the air. But in the end it's all up to Lorne. I've been to SNL dress rehearsals where they have cut some amazing skits. Sometimes the material could be well written but the cast member may not be the right one to perform it. It's like WWE and Vince McMahon. While other people may be influencing him one way or the other- you blame him when it's bad and you praise him when it's good.

Yea- Tina looks amazing the opening montage. She was looking fine all last night. I honestly have not seen much MadTV. What I've seen I have never liked. And they fired Artie Lange- he rocks.

Yes- Kenan is headed towards being known as the next Jerry Minor/Dean Edwards. ie: Funny black comedian held down by the man

I guess we do see stuff differently Deacon but Fey has been head writer since 1999 and nothing but good has come to SNL. Weekend Update has been revitalized. SNL became the centre for political humour. They won an emmy for writing for the first time in a long time. Ratings have increased. SNL's voice in the media has increased dramatically. Fey has done nothing but good for Saturday Night Live's image in the media. And come on Deacon- You hated all this- Recurring Sketches 2002-2003 Individual Sketches • Live with Regis & Kelly • Boston Teens (with Rachel Dratch) • The Bachelor parody (Eric McCormack) • The Girl With No Gaydar (w/ Rachel Dratch) • Waxing sketch with Rachel Dratch (Nia Vardalos) • Wake-Up Wakefield (co-writes) • Joe Millionare parodies (Jeff Gordon) • E! Pre-Award Show spoofs • Date With Twins (w/ Rachel Dratch, Jennifer Garner ep) • White Trash Couple (w/ Amy Poehler & Chris Kattan) • Morning Latte (w/ Cheri Oteri) • Colonel Angus (Christopher Walken) • Martha Stewart (w/ Ana Gasteyer) • Fun Friend Club (w/ Rachel Dratch, Ray Liotta ep) • Hillary Clinton sketches • Mom Jeans commercial (Adrien Brody) • Monica Lewinsky sketches • The View parodies 1997-2001 Individual Sketches • The Search For A Playboy Centerfold (Winona Ryder) • MSNBC Investigates: The Golden Girls (Lara Flynn Boyle) • A Wedding Story (Renee Zellweger) • Talkin' 'Bout Ginas- The Vagina Monologues parody (Sean Hayes) • Census Taker (w/ Tim Meadows, Christopher Walken/Aguilera ep) • Begging Street Urchins (Jennifer Aniston) • White House In Crisis- slumber party (w/ Paula Pell, Lucy Lawless ep) • Old French Whore (Garth Brooks '97) • Sally Jessy Raphael (Chris Farley)

Did MadTV have Tina Fey looking hot and dancing? Probably not. I honestly didn't watch- Canucks v. Wild was on

I'm starting to think Lorne may be encouraging it. Even though Horatio's airtime became limited after the Gordon show. It's starting to really wear thin with a lot of people. The backlash has been building up and building up and I think last week it just became unleashed. I've never liked them cracking up. Even when I was 11 I thought it was stupid. Then again I was 11- there wasn't much cracking up. That's the thing- the show hasn't been dreadful at all. They still put out great shows. There are shows that have been done the past few seasons that I would put rank in my top 5 of all time. SNL always has a mini-slump during a season- and this is the slump. The cast isn't bad at all. Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers, Kenan Thompson, Will Forte, Fred Armisen Darrell Hammond (when he wants to be), Chris Parnell (when used correctly), Jeff Richards (when he's doing impressions) are all immensly talented people. It's just that Lorne keeps giving airtime to shitheads like Horatio and Maya despite the fact they get nothing from the crowd or the fans. There's no need to clean out the whole cast. They just need to tweak some of the cast. We don't really know who writes what though. And in the end- it's all up to Lorne.

Why not? Moondog Spot probably didn't cost much and worked a midcard comedy match. Luger is probably costing a lot and is working the main event.
-
Can we get some actual proof please? Remember how good the last buyrate was when Sting faced Luger? Oh right- it drew one of the lowest buyrates EVER. Then why did the WWA not do any good? Why did Uncensored 2000 bomb? What talent gets over by having Luger in the ring? Just one- AJ. And who knows if this match will help him. No one really cares about Lex Luger- so feeding him to AJ won't help that much. AJ's title reign made him look like such chickenshit that it's going to take a while to build him back up. TV channels are going to want a show built around an alledged drug addict and wife beater? You do realise that no one gives a fuck about Lex Luger right? The last time Lex Luger was on TV- we heard him calling 911 after Liz ODed. Luger is not that big of a name anymore.
-
What I meant is that whenever he wrestled someone- he made them look like a million bucks and made the fans think they could see a title change at any moment. Flair helped Terry Funk from washed up old man to main event player. Flair didn't do the same stuff HHH and Jarrett did. He didn't book storylines where he should've lost the blowoff yet won.
-
That's the thing- they weren't laughing because they fucked up. They weren't laughing because a prop fell. They laughed for no reason. Keep in mind that they have a dress rehearsal where they can get all their giggles out and not hurt the show as a whole.

The classic episode was quite good I thought. I marked out seeing the Folksmen. Some of the humour was lost on me like always but I thought it was quite the good show. And yes- poor Walter Mondale. If it makes you feel better- I think Missy lost a lot of weight. Alec Baldwin's hosted 10+ times so he should be fine. The Hall and Oates skit was just retarded. The premise wasn't funny and the cast couldn't save it. The Scott Joplin character was done during the Bernie Mac show I believe. The three Agassi's would've been better if Roddick could act. I don't watch SNL to see people crack up. I watch it so I will crack up. Horatio WAS laughing- as was Jimmy. Wow- they were able to do the skit almost laugh free- they deserve a medal. The bit was amusing but it still wasn't very funny. By showing he has no acting ability whatsoever? I wanted to change the channel during almost every skit. And the Jordan show was actually funny. The Barkley show was okay. Seann William Scott isn't THAT bad. Mosely was picked because of the NBC-Olympics thing. Didn't he end up not even medalling? Yea- at least we know McEnroe has a sense of humour about himself. I agree with the other points you made raza. Bah- the Wayne Gretzky show owns. I actually have some of that episode on tape. Anal Retentive Fisherman, Wayne v. Wayne- it's all good. Yea- tennis players should be banned from NBC. I'm happy Kenan got a skit to show his stuff but Andy Roddick had to drag it down. Hopefully he gets more airtime when Sharpton hosts. Jimmy and Horatio always make each other crack up and ruin skits. Everyone knows this and most people hate it- except for Lorne Michaels. It really is dragging down the show.
