Thank you Tigger.
-
I've been around since the Delphi days. How cool am I? Didn't think so. Oh and who did Tigger used to be?
-
Hate to break it to you OSW but theratings have been pretty badly. I believe it's one of the few shows ABC hasn't given a full season order too

Mick Foley a better wrestler then Ric Flair? HA Mick's had some wonderful matches but the guy hasn't wrestled as long and had as many great matches as Ric Flair did. Flair SMOKES Bret in terms of promos. Flair's promos made you think you would get something special if you bought what he was selling. Look a couple weeks ago where he was trying to motivate Shawn- just great stuff. Good to see Tim and DH feeling the Sting v. Vader love

The wife has to be on the show. Stan Hooper is supposed to be a mature, down home humble guy at heart- and his wife helps that image. Him being a single guy looking to score with the chicks doesn't help his image. She's not supposed to be funny. She's there to help Stan's character and just be there for him. Like I said- not everyone can and should be funny. -

I said the same thing in one of my SNL reviews- but the show really is a lot different then most sitcoms on the year. That's more Barry Kemp's influence I would assume since he is the famed producer behind Newhart and Coach. I'm glad SOMEONE at this board found the show funny- it's a show that deserves a couple seasons just to see Waterford Falls evolve. And again- on the ratings.... Were they good last week? No Were they astrocious last week? No EVERY FOX show is doing poorly- even 24. The show will last if it doesn't completely bottom out (which I don't see happening) and if FOX has faith in it and wants it to succeed. I'm just thanking God that every FOX show is doing ass right now. Hopefully Stan Hooper will continue to do well in the 18-49. -

A Minute with Stan Hooper: How good a show can be when they try to be funny… Last week I found Stan Hooper to be a great new show. It didn’t have a lot of laugh out loud scenes but it did its job. A show like A Minute with Stan Hooper needs to establish all its characters while at the same time making the show funny enough. It’s a tough task but given the talent involved- they can and have done it. Aside from Ryan- most of the characters are pretty well established now- and now the show can bring the funny and it brought it in spades tonight. It’s amazing watching Norm’s transformation here. The first episode he seemed a bit unsure on how to play Stan- now he knows. And instead of being the straight man who watches the action and comments- Norm was funny as well tonight. The comment about women voting was classic Norm. Fear not Norm fans- while our hero from Dirty Work has changed- Norm has shown signs that he’s not completely done away with and it’s for the better. The stupidity of Waterford Falls is a bit disconcerting at first but Norm is using them to their full comic extent. While the women not being allowed to vote story was a bit absurd- it did provide for a lot of great and humorous lines. While I’d like to see the people of Waterford Falls be given a little more credit- in the end I don’t care- as long as its funny. The first scene was great. As long as it doesn’t wear thing I’d love for them to do a segment like that every week. It’s an easy way to open up the show with a laugh and it gets the viewer sucked in and laughing. Now for my complaints on the show: Max Wright looked awful tonight- I guess someone’s been snorting a bit too much. He was given one scene to showcase his stuff and he failed. Norm and Max didn’t have the chemistry that they had on Norm- and I think that’s because he played such a pussy here tonight. At least Max stood up to Norm on ‘Norm’. Reagan Dale Neis has got to go. The show has enough stupid small towners- she’s not really needed. Her relationship with Ryan isn’t necessary. Ryan already has two storylines on the show: Her character just holds Ryan back from two potential storylines. I also would’ve liked to have seen the Ryan lives with Stan relationship explored a bit more but they only have 22 minutes. Other stuff: I was right about Norm not overusing the butler. He was only on for a couple seconds and was really funny. I hope this trend continues. The show was just hilarious tonight. The stuff with the Communist was hilarious- in fact I LOVED the whole debate. Norm has a great interaction with the people of Waterford Falls. He plays the straight man to perfection. If tonight is an indication- I’m really looking forward to seeing more of the Stan v. small town storylines. Kudos to Fred Willard, Daniel Peterson and Garrett Dillahunt. Dillahunt had a lot more material to work with and I’m starting to enjoy him. Willard and Peterson were great as always. It doesn’t look like Penelope Ann Miller is going to be very funny. I don’t mind it since there are many other people who are there just to be funny. She’s not. This episode was MUCH better then the first one- which was no slouch itself. I hope the week by week trend of the show getting funnier continues- cause we could be in for a real treat. -

Well assuming it stays the course of the ratings- it won't bomb. The show is the second highest rated new comedy on FOX and finished second in its timeslot among the 18-49 demographic. That's good. Oh and the show OWNED tonight. The first one saw Norm struggling to find the way he should play Stan Hooper- but tonight he found his voice. I'll have a full review up in a bit -

I have high hopes for it even though I don't think Willard will be in it. That's good- they don't need to harp on the father-son conflict anytime soon. This episode should also clue us in on whether Molly will just there to be Stan's conscious and the voice of wisdom or whether she will be funny as well. And we'll also find out if Ryan's girlfriend has a point -

Tonight on A Minute with Stan Hooper.... AIRING WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH AT 8:30/7:30 CENTRAL ON FOX Writen By: Cindy Caponera Directed By: Jeff Melman After Stan learns that the mayor of Waterford Falls is running unopposed, Stan decides, with encouragement from Molly and the crowd at the diner, to run for office. Special guest star Max Wright as the mayor. Max Wright should be awesome tonight. Him and Norm were hilarious on Norm and had great chemistry together. The fact that they are once again playing rivals should mean a hilarious episode. Hopefully they will establish Stan's relationships with Ryan and Gary and we will gain more insight into the people of Waterford Falls. -
Tremendous ROH Rant I found...
bob_barron replied to Phoenix Fury Legdrop's topic in General Wrestling
Um, not sure if you know this- but EVERYBODY in indy wrestling is petty and slams other promotions- IWA does it, ROH does it, CZW does it more than anybody. It's not exactly rocket science to find this interview- it's on TSM's main site. All you'd have to do is type it in to the search engine. Heck, here's the link. http://thesmartmarks.com/artman/publish/ar...icle_1181.shtml And journalists generally don't "assume" or "switch off" stuff they don't like. And I find it hard to believe that a guy who grew up around professional wrestling and has worked in it for the past 5+ years is more "ignorant" than some random net fan. When has ROH taken a shot at any other promotion besides WWE? And slamming promotions makes you bush league. Has Wildside ever drawn a show like ROH has? No- so they should shut the fuck up. Same with ROH taking shots at WWE for the Lance Storm angle -
Austin was the one who wanted to face Taker every other month so that's his problem. Yea his match v. Booker was pretty good but for the most part he was awful. Austin won wrestle of the year by default really- Had Benoit not gotten injured I think he would've smoked Austin. And being wrestler of the year in 2001 just means he had one great year. He's also had bad years. QUOTE I don't think Austin is one of the greatest workers ever. Eh- I'm not feeling it. He was great in 1997 and 2001 but I've seen better US workers. I find many of Austin's brawl all around the building brawls to be boring and not these great matches. He was a very good wrestler but not one of the greats.

I remember someone being banned for wishing death, rape, and torture on Avril Lavigne a while back. Use that as your guide. Actually Tom- Perfectplex got his account suspended (not banned for the Avril thing) and then got banned for good when he flamed me via email.

In 2000 Rock and HHH were smark favourites- and made money. And Fully Loaded headlined by Rock v. Benoit/HHH v. Jericho did a good buyrate

*69 doesn't work on my phone. And he called from my friend's cell phone

Brock was green as shit for a long time when he first debuted and yet he still had good matches with Bubba Ray Dudley of all people. Brock has been involved in many good-great matches with all different kinds of workers.
-
Nice to see Ray defending Austin by using logic and well thought out points. Except for his matches against The Rock- Austin was pretty bad in 1999. He also was absolute ass in 2002 with the exception of two matches v. Angle. I don't think Austin is one of the greatest workers ever. He's great but I've seen better
-
Raven 1919. Brock IS a good worker. He's had good matches with Rock, Taker, Angle, Big Show and he has improved leap and bounds since he debuted?
-
Wasn't Steamboat a heel in TNA?
-
Based on the matches that I've seen with him in it. I don't loathe watching him anymore
-
If they let Y2J do the whole thing, it might be good. But Xian is subpar and Steiner, Mizark and Suckbag are varying degrees of awful. It's a tag match- So they can do a lot of tagging in and out. The Dudleyz always have a lot of heat and I think Orton is getting better. It won't be a MOTYC but I think it will be a fun match to watch
-
I'm looking forward to the RAW Tag Match. And it'll be fun seeing the SD! talent for the first time since No Mercy.
-
He's never done anything to really impress me. Ultimo Dragon has. So I'd push Ultimo over Val Venis
-
LANCE STORM????? CHRISTIAN??? Ultimo Dragon deserves a push before those two slugs, Kidman, Val Venis, and Chavo. I'd say that Jericho, Benoit, Eddy and Book are already getting pushed
