I always assumed that if this was true; the idea was to have Rey either win the belt at Mania and drop it to Orton or back to Angle at Judgment Day then get drafted OR he simply just comes up short in Mania and a possible JD rematch. Then goes to Raw for a "career rejuvenation" that sees him get punked out by Hunter who would point out the obvious flaws in Rey that essentially reburies Rey.

Exactly. It's like, "Ok lets make Lashley look good" and then when they have him in a match with someone like JBL, someone else WWE is high on, then they get cold feet with Lashley and resort to stupidity.

I think that's the point. WWE doesn't seem to want anyone to look strong at the expense of anyone they MIGHT push. So they resort to even stevens booking that just ends up neutering everyone involved... well not everyone. Thhhere's still thhhat guy.

Not really. ECW is dead. RVD winning it at ONS is the same as him winning it at Backlash or Unforgiven or Armageddon, meaningless to the grand scheme of things.

It's based on the ill-conceived notion that RVD winning the belt in front of a WWEized crowd at an "ECW" PPV would somehow mean more than if he won it at another event.

The kind that has parents come to pick up their kids for lunch and then drop them off for the 2nd half of the school day. Some kids (not me, I was one of the 'pickup/dropoff' kind, was able to walk home for lunch, provided they had written permission from their parents. They also must live very close by the school. We never really encountered any problems with tardiness or anything, at least that I know of.

I always was told to write my name on my sack lunch in case it got lost and so I wouldn't confuse it with other sack lunches. What were YOU being told? In all honesty, I never had a sack lunch (was one of the kids to go home for lunch, even dating back to 1st grade)

That to be a credible main eventer, you need the title most of the time (where, in reality, to be a main eventer, you just need the push and the self-confidence to believe that you actually are a main eventer, not some fake title that tells you that you are). Ok... so by putting "his" wrestling logo on the transportation vehicle he presumably travels in=thinking he needs to have the belt at all times to be a credible main eventer? Am I missing something here? If I was a wrestler or an athlete really, and I had a tour bus as well a personal "identifiable" logo, I'd put the logo on my bus too if I wanted. It makes it HIS. No different than writing your name on your sack lunch before going to school.

And even if it did, what does that have to do with him being the champion all the time?
