I figured that following them for 10 years, watching most of their games up until I left Illinois and was unable to, and owning a black Labrador with white paws which I named "White Sox" qualified me as a fan, but I'd like to hear what your reasoning is. Yes I know the Cubs fans are more vocal. And I appreciate it. I wish the White Sox fans spoke up more often. All year long in the baseball threads I'm the one talking about the Sox, ISportsFan too, and I have had to defend the White Sox. Now they're in the World Series and the other Sox fans are popping up? It annoys me too, but that's the nature of the White Sox fanbase. It's there, they just don't make themselves known til its safe to do so.

I'd bet on Clemens for Game 1 then White Sox to finish them off. The White Sox more likely than not will be a bit rusty in the first game or two.

The real question is would Foley work differently as Dude Love as he would as Mankind or Cactus Jack? If he is true to the 1998 Dude, I don't want to see him vs Carlito. Then again I don't want to see Carlito.

Why the Braves? Why not Philadelphia? Why not Colorado? Why not a team that actually haven't made the playoffs in a while? Hell, Washington winning it would be a bittersweet story.

Other Sox fans on this board and in general might be guilty of appearing out of nowhere but you can't claim that about me. I've had a White Sox avatar or sig since May-June (temporarily taken down for other shit before returning for the playoffs). I've been a Sox fan for a long time, so it does irritate me when people say those things. It's not personal. I don't really care that the team is seen as the redhaired stepchild. It just bothers me that they don't even get any positive attention on them despite them making it to the World Series, unlike another Chicago team in 2003...

But if I do, others do too. You're really overgeneralizing it. We did exist. You just didn't pay attention to it. You were busy worrying about the Dodgers or whoever you like. The real "fanbase" of the White Sox aren't usually vocal in the first few months. It's just our mistrusting nature due to the Chicago sports failing us many times. It doesn't mean we just appeared in a vacuum after they made the playoffs.

The funny thing is that the White Sox are older than most of the teams in the league, and yet you guys see them as a secondary team. My original post however is that the White Sox are a real team with a real fanbase, and not the kind that Czech and Bob is sporting in their sigs. It would be silly to say no one wants to see the White Sox in the World Series when that's far from the truth. YOU MAY NOT want to see them but I do. Others do. Now let us enjoy this without raining on our parade, a parade it took us since 1959 to get back on... I didn't and wouldn't be such a downer if the Cubs were in our position...well ok the NL position, so I'd appreciate more respect, but knowing some people here, I won't get it. Whatever.
