Just to correlate Wisconsin issues against the Packers' performance:
- From '36 to '44, GB goes to 4 NFL title games, winning 3. Nothing notable occurs.
- From '44 to '60, GB fails to make the playoffs. Ed Gein goes on his infamous run during this time, and a certain senator sends the nation into a frenzy.
- '60 to '70, the Lombardi era. Nothing of note happens.
- '70 to '92. Packers make the playoffs twice. From '80 (or so) to '91, Dahmer goes on his run.
- 1991, Dahmer is arrested. The Packers acquire Brett Favre, who makes an immediate impression.
- 1994, Dahmer killed in jail. Packers put together a string of playoffs including an NFC title game and two straight SBs with one win.
- '99-'00, Holmgren leaves the Packers and they lull for a couple playoff-less seasons. Chmura gets in trouble for banging his underage neighbor.
- '01-'04, Packers make playoff runs, albeit losing the Lambeau mystique in the process. Nothing happens... as far as I recall. Maybe the Lambeau losses lead to someone molesting a cow, I dunno.
- Now, Packers suck. Witness the twin deviant threads.
