John "Bradshaw" Rules...
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Methinks those that watch him on MSNBC could care less about pro wrestling. Not everyone, but a large majority. The character isn't really trying to "draw" fans from MSNBC, it's more likely to freshen his stale character, provide a new heel challenger, and let him try to be entertaining by creating heat from a talent he has. -
John "Bradshaw" Rules...
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Hey, my bad. But not only is my post better...but actually gives a title to the topic at hand. Heh. At any rate. -
I know I'm gonna get shit for this. Bradshaw, known hazer and largely unmotivated worker has really sucked, or at least had no entertainment value, since early 2000 for me. Not since he was stiffing the Hardys and E & C and delivering somewhat funny promos with Faarooq. His team was boring. His RAW "hardcore cowboy" singles push sucked ass. His recent change to "blonde hair" APA member blew too, as his singles work was not entertaining against the likes of A-Train, Show, etc. BUT... We like heels. We like cocky asshole heels. We like mainstream attention to WWE. We hate Bradshaw. We wanna cheer Eddie. This "money-wise tycoon" Bradshaw can work...IF... Bradshaw's ring-work is "smash mouth". By this I do not mean a few Clotheslines from Hell that are predictably setup by an opponent charging into the corner and missing, and Bradshaw running off the ropes. I want Vader/Stan Hansen ring work. I want 1999 Acolyte Bradshaw, kicking people in the face, occassionaly stiffing the youngens, powerbombs, clotheslines, chairs, bats, and more chairs. I want Bradshaw to come off as believing in himself, that he is correct. I want the 'net to hate his "scientific" style, or lack thereof, but enjoy his asshole "I'm on MSNBC" crap. So far, so good, IMO. He may have a shitty track record. But I think he's on the right track. Would I make him WWE Champion? HELL NO. Does he deserve a main event TRY? Hell yes. He's been in WWE for 8 years. If it sucks, he'll go back to Velocity and job to the FBI, like Hardcore Holly. Can we try to be optimistic? :::2 weeks ago::: "SMACKDOWN HAS NO HEELS!! WE NEED HEELS!!!!!" :::Bradshaw does (thus far) successful heel turn::: "NO BRADSHAW SHOULDN'T BE A HEEL!! WHAAAAAA! HE'LL BEAT EDDIE!"

Taking a look at the big scenarios from Backlash 2003 to this month's PPV, Backlash 2004. The #1 story was the debuting Goldberg, who was receiving lukewarm, mediocre crowd responses, and received many boo's at the PPV, Vs. The Rock, who was ending an entertaining heel run. Neither are around today. *** + for us for not having to watch Goldberg wrestle. *** - for The Rock not being around to actually lose to WORTHY stars. The Intercontinental Title was inactive. Today it's around the waste of Randy Orton, who is getting much better every week despite constant internet bashing at lack of heat. This month, however, Orton will face Foley most likely, with the title not really the focus. ***Call it EVEN for the I-C title being worthless for two straight Aprils. A six-man bout featured the unbeatable World Champion Triple H, his old mentor Ric Flair, and the "second stringer" Chris Jericho against the returning Kevin Nash, former title challenger Booker T, and Jericho/HHH-nemesis Shawn Michaels. Today, Triple H has regained quite a few steps from his all-2002/most of 2003 slow-worthless years and is a fresh heel for Smackdown. Definately a plus. Flair is Flair, older, and actually holding a title?!?!? Minus for insulting us. Jericho has become an individual again. + But is a boring face. - Booker T is in tag team misery, or was. - Michaels has had one of the best year's of his career, and is main eventing. + Nash is gone. + So let's just say that the RAW uppercard has progressed....VERY slightly. The RAW Tag Straps were held by RVD & Kane...a makeshift "two singles stars become tag champs" team that was together for roughly 7 months. Today, the Tag Straps are held by Flair & Batista. Given the lack of teams on RAW, I'd say this is about EVEN to last year's situation. I'd rather have a united team from a stable hold the straps then two singles stars who lose credibility in a team. Still, Flair's like 56, and harder to watch each day. Call this EVEN I suppose. Women's Divison included Champions Trish & Jazz, with Molly's push upcoming and Gail Kim on the horizon. Victoria had become an afterthought. Today a (lame) face Victoria is the titleholder. Molly is bald. Lita blows spots. Jazz is being defeated (by LITA, nonetheless in 50 seconds). The Women's Divison is worse off. At least 2003 had solid wrestling. MINUS The World Title scene may be RAW's lone saving grace. Chris Benoit could potentially lose the title to any of the big names, given this is his first run and the fans are still unsure of how long a reign he'll have. Add a PLUS to the unpredictability level...right? Eh. I guess. Benoit's challengers include: Shawn Michaels (we're enjoying HBK's ringwork...but a title run is unlikely) Randy Orton (busy with IC run) Rhyno (crushed on Raw this week, and sucks, quite frankly) Booker T (lost many steps since last Benoit feud in WCW) Edge (just returned, and has never had a world title feud) Kane (probably the next big challenger that has a chance at taking the title) and Christian/Chris Jericho (who seem quite busy with each other) Still, it does feel good to make a list of RAW Challengers and not see the following names: Triple H Goldberg Mark Henry Doesn't it? Call me apathetic for a good 2004 out of RAW, save for the World Title scene, probably.

Downloading WWE PPV/DVDs online
UseTheSledgehammerUh replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in The WWE Folder
Oh I've got a shitload of DVDs...but with so many on the horizon, college rent, a new $1300 computer, girlfriend, fraternity dues, WM 20/RAW tickets, and lack of job 'til the summer starts, I felt that maybe I could...you know...download a documentary piece like Monday Night Wars online. So $20 to me! <wastes it on beer and cigarettes> Fuck. -
Hey everyone, I just picked up a really fast 2004 model computer, that's just amazing me, basically because I had been running on like, Windows 95 for the past 8 years. LOL, was about time. Anyway, I love downloading stuff, and found the entire Monday Night War DVD and Extras online at another forum, and downloaded it to CD in a few minutes. However, the one or two sites with "media downloads" seem to always have broken links or servers that crashed. Do you guys have any places you can reference me to, to download matches/shows that are frequently updated if the server crashes...reposted? Updated often? I don't want to DL of Kazaa, quite frankly I don't have time to sit around and search and wait to download the next day. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it...I'm a bit new to DLing full shows/matches.

Please please please get Maryland out. UTEP is a HUGE underdog...last non-conference winning tea to get a bid.....foul trouble...ugly uniforms...they deserve a come from behind win. Could go up with a basket here. -

IMO, Maryland should be a 6 seed. Great conference or not...you don't go from a bubble team to a FOUR SEED in one weekend. -

Thanks for the info. 2GOLD. UTEP's had so many chances to capitalize on Maryland's late turnovers, missed free thors, etc....but only seems to be able to do something 1/2 the time. Here we go again. -

This Florida team has like no experience in the NCAA Tourney (Current players). They were flat from the start. Anyone know anything about: Liberty? Richmond? Pacific? How good is that Valpo team as compared to previous years where they were a big spoiler? How the hell did Seton Hall get in? Anyone pick Princeton over Texas? -

Hold the phone, Charlotte down 6.... This kid Walsh, the "Philly bball player of the year" is getting on my nerves with his hard fouls and ridiculous hair. Tho his foot is messed up. Thanks, Manhattan. UTEP fading. -

Question: Manhattan's cheerleaders have those long sleeve shirts on...Should Manhattan make it to say, the Sweet 16 or other highly-rated rounds, would CBS "encourage" the girls to show more skin? Not trying to be stupid, but just curious about stuff while watching heartless Florida get beat AGAIN~! I live a few minutes from Philly, BTW....so I'm pulling for St. Joe's in this tournament. If they play how they played against Xavier last week, though, they'll be the first #1 to be beaten by a 16, though. UTEP hanging around...down 7. I feel bad for those with only one channel (UTEP/Maryland). Those announcers, in addition to blowing MD, are annoying and shout out idiotic stuff, "OHHHHH ITS A FOUL ON UTEP!! WOW!!! TURN THE MOMENTUM AROUND!!! HO HO!! THE BALL GOES BACK!" -

I've got #12 MANH 50, #5 FLA 40...11:00 left on one CBS...and fucking lame ACC Maryland on the other, up like 5 or 6 on UTEP (whom have hot cheerleaders) with like 13:00 left on CBS 3. I fucking hate the ACC. They're very talented blah blah power conference, 5 teams at #4 or higher and UNC at 6.... Still, I want an underdog to win it all. A true underdog, not like last year, when Syrcuse (they were a #5?) was on a ROLL coming in. It'll never happen. But Air Force is gonna kick UNC's ass tonight! GO AIR FORCE! I went to UNC for Spring Break, and they're a bunch of pussies. Well, the guys I met. The Air Force troops are gonna teach them a lesson in hazing. -
Hey everyone, Day One is here. No bitching, the other NCAA Thread was slack and had discussion of opening round ACC tounrye games on the last page. MANHATTAN looking good so far against Florida. That little guy Minor is a crowd favorite.

Bowling for Columbine is pretty damn acclaimed, has won awards, and genuinely rightfully bashes a shitty president and a society that loves violence and violent acts...unless it "really" happens. It's not just my opinion. I have a right to bash this dude because his opinion has no basis of validity. My "opinion" is supported by more than his negative opinion, so I'd hardly call it one-sided. Just a standard.
-
Bowling for Columbine was great. Dude, your one-sided opinions and "sucks ass" "bit the grope" or whatever shitty Kevin Smith-era esque witty criticisms are annoying. I doubt you could make anything better.

WrestleMania: 10 Greatest Matches

LOL, UConn is gonna get wrecked. Pitt's a better team, and considering UConn's injuries....Pitt will pull it out, bro. -
The Barbarian is in fact apart of the massive WWE Samoan tree. He's in Rikishi/Rock's Samoan lineage I mean. Check the History of Samoans feature on the WWE Confidential DVD, 'cause I forget how he fits in.

Remember Big Show on the March 2000 SNL? He's always been a favorite of mine. By the way, tons of people hope Show wins Sunday. Cena sucks.

"So if the person is on the creative team of the WWF...they can assign you to be...you're gonna be SISSY BOY...you're gonna be POOPY PANTS, etc." -Conan O'Brien to the Big Show That's how most RAW meetings go, I'm told, between Hunter and Benoit. Idiot said "WWF" too. And called the U.S. Title the "W.E. Belt".
