The stamina mode looks like garbage. I loved the idea at first until watching the HIAC match-
1. It seems that the main effect of stamina depletion is your wrestler passing wind (complete with sound effect) and staggering for about half a second.
1a. If this effect kicks in every time I hit a finisher while I'm worn down, I will be an unhappy man. "And he hits it! The Pedigree! ..but give him a second to cover."
My expectations for this game have been even further lowered.
I got an advertisement on the page that Richard linked to for "The Weather Man". Did Nicholas Cage just use the same picture for "Lord of War" that he did for this new movie?
Because I'd rather pay Canadian money and not have to cross the border.
Forget that I ever suggested Niagra Falls; I'd prefer it much more if they did a show in the GTA.
This is the feud that really got me into wrestling.
I loved it. I can't believe I forgot some of those angles Ed described. They were fantastically done.
No, that was right after Survivor Series 2001.
Weird. I remember hating that match because they jobbed out RVD when I thought it would be the start of a huge push after the Alliance went kaput.
Boogeyman was absolutely hysterical. However, his debut was almost immediately followed up by a Burger King commercial that put him to shame.
The King is the scariest guy on TV.
Arn Anderson had it all other than looks. Aerial skills weren't overly necessary in wrestling then.
Also- Lesnar, Eddie, Angle, CM Punk, Trish Stratus, Tully Blanchard, Curt Hennig, Owen Hart, Roddy Piper.
Mysterio vs. Lesnar from 2003, my favourite match between Mysterio and a heavyweight.
Others:
Orton and Batista vs. Benoit and Edge; my pick for Evolution's best two on two tag ever.
Jerry Lynn vs. Justin Credible from an episode of ECW on TNN; my favourite Credible title defense.
There's others. I just can't think of them.
While I enjoyed watching Bishop and Blade take disgusting bumps in front of me, I thought it didn't have any form and hardly looked like a wrestling contest. Watching and hearing them talk to eachother about the spots before they did them made me die a little inside. I thought the match was horrendous and it didn't do anything to improve my opinion of Chris Bishop (I'm not a fan of him whatsoever). Still, crowd seemed to really like it, so it wasn't anything detrimental to the show.
Bakais is over the top to the point that I like him. When he makes a "shocked" expression, it's like his mouth travels six miles vertically.
Good job on the report though. I reccomend RavishingRickRudo's report for another (albeit negative) analysis of the UWA.
I forgot about Smaffles!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
It's something best left buried.
I remember a number of people on the board turning on their closed captioning for the rest of the show after that, and then virtually everybody reported "1, 2 goirks, 3" at the finish, at the same time.
..that was so goofy.
Strange, strange words come up on closed captioning.
Like Goldberg being called "Smaffles" or Steve Austin being named "Clyde" instead of "Gladiator" at WrestleMania.
