  1. Isn't THAT the entire idea behind an "Evil American" gimmick? I was thinking more along the lines of a guy like Pat Buchanan. Y'know, an isolationist who hates foreigners. So Bradshaw or Bubba Ray Dudley. :Sees French man: Bradshaw: We don't take kindly to you folks around here :Sees Arab man: Bubba: USA USA USA USA Arab: What? Bubba: We don't like you.
  2. It still has foreign box office and DVD sales. Each are equally important as the US Box Office. Granted, but it seems like there is a glut of movies about to come out and they can't really afford to drop out already.
  3. M&C lost 40% since last week. And is up to 47 million, a long ways away from its total 180 million dollar budget. This is going to need to hang around for a while, to get near the budget.
  4. None of the 7 win teams won this week. Making a very interesting final two weeks as 11 teams are still in contention for the 4 remaining spots. 7-5 Teams (remaining opponents): Ultimo Guerreros (Cartmans Pats, The Wraiths) Seoul Emerald Tigers (Texas Wolverines, Maui Mercenaries) Funjaculators (The A Team, Laffayette Ephedras) Team 2000 (Crimson Storm, Cartmans Pats) Since none of these 4 teams play each other in the next two weeks, they all have control over their own destiny. Funjaculators are the team with the bad draw here as they meet up with a still fighting A Team and the now second place Laffayette Ephedras. Of course they are 7-5 with the third worst point total all season, so they have been playing with fire all year. 6-6 Teams: Berzerker Vikings (Maui Mercenaries, Dothan Jaguars) Boston Rattlesnakes (HHH, Whalers on the Moon) Marvins Madness (Field of Honor, Crimson Storm) Dothan Jaguars (Toilet Ducks, Berzerker Vikings) Crimson Storm (Team 2000, Marvins Madness) Crimson Storm can move into a better position this week against the 7-5 Team 2000, but they do have a tough draw facing two competitive teams and suffering from a low point total. But they are the only team with the opportunity to knock off a 7-5 team, so they will wield some power. Real hard luck team here is the Boston Rattlesnakes as they will face two of the three highest scoring teams in HHH and the Whalers. Since Crimson is the only team with a game against a 7-5 teams, the other teams will need help with at least one of the 7-5 teams losing. Throw in the fact they are in a group of 5 themselves and you get a nasty dogfight for the remaining spots. One loss from any of these teams will necessitate a lot of help to get back in the hunt. Berzerker Vikings are the team that could most afford a loss, since they have the highest point total of any 6-6 or 5-7 team. But every one of these teams needs a 7-5 team to lose an upcoming game. 5-7 Teams: The A Team (Funjaculators, Toilet Ducks) Toilet Ducks (Dothan Jaguars, The A Team) Since they will play each other in 2 weeks, only one of these teams has a shot at the 8th slot. They need a lot of help, but a lot of the 7-5 and 6-6 teams face the bottom rung of the league. So if....well...pretty much every upset happens over the next two weeks it can happen. Any loss for these two teams means the end. Toilet Ducks have no realistic chance, as they are 80 points behind the next team and 140 behind the team after that. But they are still technically in it. So they will necessitate two record breaking weeks to have a shot. The A Team needs two big weeks, but depending on which front runners fall they have a slight chance. The Funjaculators are these two teams hope. If everyone in front falls, the Funjaculators have a low enough point score that the A Team could beat them with two wins and the Toilet Ducks could pull a miracle against them on points. Most likely spoiler: The 4-8 Cartmans Pats. A solid team, that will face two of the 7-5 teams to round out the season. Especially this week against the Ultimo Guerreros as Anthony Thomas will play Arizona and Priest Holmes faces a San Diego team that allows 142 YPG. Top 4 Playoff Spots: 10-2 Teams: Whalers on the Moon Laffayatte Ephedras Each have clinched a top 4 playoff spot. 9-3 Teams: HHH Pogo the Monkey Clinch top 4 spot with a win in either of the upcoming two weeks.
  5. And in holding on and moving to 9-3, Pogo the Monkey clinches the 4th playoff birth.
  6. Teams with Playoff births clinched: HHH Whalers on the Moon Laffayette Ephedras Can clinch tonight: Pogo the Monkey (if Tiki Barber and Michael Pittman =/= 30 points)
  7. WHOOOOOOO! A playoff spot is clinched (unless Darnarian McCants scores 8 TDs in the next 4:10).
  8. God, the Eagles pass rush is a disgrace so far today.
  9. South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut
  10. Chris Perry is one tough son of a bitch. And this is the game to hand him the Heisman trophy.
  11. Lloyd Carr is a cocksucker. If I didn't want Ohio State to go down, I would hope for them to make a comeback. But this Ohio State crap needs to end.
  12. Alf, I took your Wells-Dunleavy deal.
  13. So is this turning into enough of a rout that USC is going to get leapfrogged by Michigan?
  14. Might as well put this is here. Since nobody seems to really care. Results from the Sherdog MB (I don't know who is watching later so for some it might be spoilers.) Prelims Yves Edwards wins via tko (strikes) Rockel wins via submission (guillotine) Rizzo wins via UD Show: Robbie Lawler vs. Chris Lytle - Robbie wins via UD Awesome fight, they exchanged blows in the first round with Robbie getting the better of it. Robbie slammed him big time then landed some good follow up GNP. Chris won the 2nd round as Robbie threw just a couple of punches the entire round. Round 3 Robbie won by dropping Chris with a wicked right hand, but Chris got right back up and landed some of his own. The fight ended in fantastic fashion with Chris suplexxing Robbie chest-to-back, but Robbie reversed and landed some bombs as the bell rang. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Phil Baroni vs. Evan Tanner - Tanner wins via TKO 1st round (bad ref stoppage) Big swing in this fight. The first half of round 1 was all Phil, he rocked Tanner numerous times, Evan crumpling down a couple of times, but Phil couldn't finish him as Evan got his legs and held on. Phil gassed a bit and Evan was able to clinch at will, throwing 5 or 6 straing knees to Phil's body and head, he got Phil to the ground, mounted him and rained elbow after elbow until Larry though Phil verbally submitted and stopped the fight. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Cabbage Correira vs. Tank Abbott - Cabbage wins via TKO 1st round (Doc stoppage from cut) Cabbage dominated the fight...Tank landed a couple of shots but they did no damage. Cabbage hurt Tank a couple of times with punches, and nearly KO'd him with MT clinch knees. He eventually opened a huge cut over Tank's right eye that obstructed his vision and the doctor stopped it. There was a brief altercation after the fight between Tank's corner man and Cabbage, but no punches were thrown. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Falaniko Vitale vs. Matt Lindland - Lindland wins via Submission 3rd round (tapout due to strikes) Don't watch this fight, hide the women and children...this was hideous. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Matt Hughes vs. Frank Trigg - Hughes wins via RNC 1st round Trigg gets early takedown, they roll around trying to gain position. Neither landed a punch I believe, then Matt picked him up and SLAMMED him down like everyone else. Matt eventually works his way to Trigg's back and ends up getting a STANDING REAR NAKED CHOKE on Trigg. Awesome!
  15. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1666622 That is pretty cool that the Rangers would let Messier go play in the game.
  16. I would throw Darren Dreifort in here too. He has so much potential according to people, puts it together for a season, and get 5yr/55mil out of it. And good lord, who would want Glavine at the money the Mets gave him. I mean for a club to pursue Tom Glavine like that is just silly.
  17. Jack Frost 2 was great. Show some respect for fine cinema.
  18. Actually, it is going to be in the Wachovia Center as opposed to the Spectrum. Thank God. The Wachovia Center is beautiful and I don't need to go back to the Spectrum ever again. The Phantoms (minor league hockey) have a game on the 25th in the Spectrum. And JHawk, the Spectrum is mainly up for the Phantoms. It works out well to have an extra facility for other events, but if the Phantoms weren't around they would probably bring it down and just move the statue.
  19. Carolina Minnesota Indianapolis N.Y. Jets New England Philadelphia Cleveland Seattle Green Bay Denver St. Louis Cincinnati Kansas City Tennessee Washington Tampa Bay (Monday Night Game)
  20. I don't mind Utley being thrown to someone. Polanco is a better 2B and he isn't good enough to be bumping anyone. And I don't think the other player is really going to be anything. But I don't even think I would do Hamels-Schilling straight up. And I hate the idea of not giving up prospects for players. I was hoping they would be able to dump Floyd instead.
  21. Figure I will put this in here since it is still rumor as opposed to reality. WIP (Philly sports radio) is reporting a Schilling deal is looking very likely in the next couple of days. Schilling for Chase Utley, Cole Hamels, and change. Not thrilled with giving up Hamels for Schilling. I have seen Hamels ranked as high as the second best minor league pitcher. Unless Schilling has another three or four years in him, this could be ugly. Schilling better be providing a parade or this could haunt Philadelphia for years to come.
  22. You can't really answer that question. If Rodriguez wasn't on Texas, they would have 2 or 3 guys replacing him. So who knows what kind of record they would have. If he was hurt, what's the difference between 71 wins and 51 wins. You still aren't helping your team win when it matters. I don't think you can take into account salary and possible players to use that salary on when looking at players. You can only take into account what they did with the people they had around them. Otherwise you have to start using cost/benefit concepts on everyone and the MVP is always going to become which ever hotshot in their first three years did best. Because it is always going to be a better value to have a Pujols do what he did with his salary compared to Bonds and his salary.
  23. Nice RR>WM. RR always provides at least some entertainment and is only about 500% cheaper.
  24. Yeah, it's not really worth it at this point. The kid is going to be a stud one day. Don't get him shell shocked now. Wait....what am I saying. Keep him in Steve. Your job is on the line. You can't afford to give up the season yet.
  25. From what I have seen of Eagles preseason games Hasselbeck wouldn't be that bad. Granted it was preseason, but he had accuracy. The original list seems pretty dead on with what I would think. I would just move Green Bay up the list, because Doug Pederson is terrible. At least Rob Johnson has some dicernable skill and Josh McCown at least has a little promise.
