I would be shocked if they did not move up somewhere. First of all, they probably couldn't afford to fit 13 picks into the rookie salary pool. So they will likely HAVE to shift some picks. I would also be very surprised if they didn't turn at least one or two picks this year into picks for next year. There is a lot of chatter about them moving into the late teens in round one (that has been their MO), but I wouldn't mind seeing them stay at 31 and 35 and then package their second 2nd rounder and a third rounder to move higher in the second round. They could easily grab 3 players in the top 45 if they went that route and they would still have a full plate of picks.

Yeah, you got them.

Bastard al just won some free Phillies tickets. Of course judging by tonight that might be considered punishment.

I love being a fan of a team that is in the same division of the Redskins Redskins trade for Broncos 1st round pick They give up a 3rd this year, and a 1st and a 4th next year for the Broncos #25 pick in this year's draft. That is moronic. Their 1st round pick is going to be in the first half of the draft again next year (a draft which looks like it will be stacked with many more elite level prospects). And for what, a nice player that will likely be available at #25? I don't see how anyone could think someone at #25 is worth that haul.

No, they will hold onto him until Brees plays through this year and can prove he is for real. Until then, they have the cap room that they don't need to dump him yet. If Brees is a success this year, however, it would be safe to assume Rivers is gone after this season. Probably a little of each. There will likely be some regression, but with Gates, Tomalinson, and likely a first round WR I don't see him falling off the face of the Earth. Don't expect last year's numbers though. It has worked so far. Anyway, remember the Tatum Bell (the starter going into this year) was drafted to be the heir apparent. Droughns bought them a year, but it is not like they are dropping down from Droughns to a scrub. They should score some points with LaMont Jordan and an excellent stable of receivers. Don't know if they will be able to stop anyone, but that will only be better for the Raiders in fantasy football.
-
"Who the hell is Mel Keilper?" Anyway, it is pretty much impossible to know, fantasy football wise, what this draft is going to do for the upcoming season. You won't know who will be playing until you see what team they went to. The only three spots I would be comfortable saying will have an impact this year before that are: Mike Williams - I think he is the most ready to step into a no. 2 receiver slot no matter who drafts him and should put up at least solid numbers (think 800 yards and 5-7 TDs, conservative) Matt Jones - I don't see him putting up big yards as he is not going to be able to jump into a system right away, but in the red zone I think he immediately becomes the main target on fades and jump balls. Might only get a couple hundred yards, but I think 6-8 TDs is a reasonable prediction (think WR version of Jerome Bettis' first half of last season). Would obviously only help a TD heavy league. Any RB taken by Miami (whether it is first round or not) - Miami, IMO, is the only dead red RB drafted will open the season as the starter. And starting RB automatically means a worthy pickup in fantasy. Tampa has been rumored to go RB, but Pittman should steal enough touches to make a difference. And Arizona, I think, will give Shipp a chance to get some carries. A RB draft to them should be good, but Shipp might steal just enough to hurt.

I don't think people are ignoring that. It is just hard to put that as FOTN when it was one sided domination compared to the incredible back and forth drama of Hughes/Trigg. You need two to tango to make a FOTN. Also, whoever decided to put a microphone in front of Andrei Arlovski needs to be fired immediately. If you know your champion can not speak english don't make him other than the "Who's Next" type comments. Although he did look quite the pimp in that suit. I did like the preview for 53 being built around him fighting like that is an event unto itself as opposed to hyping Arlovski/Eilers and making people wonder why Eilers is getting a shot.
-
Another note: Mario Yamisaki needs to be shitcanned after that Hughes-Trigg fight and not calling time for the groin shot. He can't use the "I didn't see the knee" excuse considering he distinctly says "watch the knee" immediately after it's thrown.
-
When did they change the rule so that a person on the mat is now able to upkick to the standing person's head? Wasn't that not allowed since the standing person can't kick to the downed opponents head?

HO-LEE FUCK

God damn that 10 million figure they keep throwing around is amusing. I would like to see Miller fight again, against someone not in the elite class. He obviously has a chin and has good cardio as he was still throwing sub attempts in the last minute. As for St. Pierre, I want St.Pierre-Hughes II now.
-
HAH, Miller eating a kick when doing the kip up was fucking awesome. Almost as awesome as St. Pierre bringing the Wanderlei level stomps. Fuck Trigg, let St. Pierre fight Hughes again.

They have to allow 25 minutes of match time for each title match (5 5 minute rounds instead of 3), so between hype packages, entrances and intross they will leave about 40-45 minutes for each of those matches. That can suck up the time quick. Unless everything runs ridiculously long they will show the Babalu fight and maybe one of the other fights if a couple fights end quick.

You'll see I was that way a couple days ago (look a couple posts up) before today's fiasco. But Rosenhaus and Owens' comments today have got me leaning towards the Owens is going to become a huge headache side.

One thing that is very irritating in this ordeal is the assumption that the Eagles are planning on screwing TO by releasing him after the coming season. Every media outlet brings up the fact of "Oh, the Eagles have a history of getting rid of veterans" which is horseshit. The Eagles have a history of letting veterans walk when their contracts expire. Big difference there. If anything they have been incredibly reluctant to release players and take on dead money (one reason why their cap management has been incredible the last few years). Look at their OTs, Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan, both have been inconsistent at best the last few years, but they are both still around with large cap figures. There is absolutely zero evidence to suggest that if TO performs, that they would let him go anyway so they wouldn't have to pay his roster bonus next year.
-
Well it appears that the "...yet" lasted all of one day. Quotes from a Screamin A. Smith article in the Philadelphia Inquirer. So much for wanting to come to Philly that bad that he was willing to take less on his contract. At this point I say dump him, he is not going to get top-10 player money from the Eagles being at his age and being at WR where they have shown they are willing to go with lesser players. And he is only going to get worse when he doesn't get what he wants. They had gotten to three NFC title games without him and they got to the Super Bowl last year without him, while he is certainly a great player he is not worth destroying the team over. Use his money to lock up Michael Lewis and Brian Westbrook long term and draft Matt Jones to fill the WR hole.

10/9 - at Dallas 4:15PM FOX - Loss 10/30 - at Denver 4:15PM FOX* - Loss 12/18 - at St. Louis 4:15PM FOX* - Loss Right now I'll go with a 13-3 prediction. I see them losing one of the games between KC and Denver, and being that Plummer owns the Eagles I am leaning that way. I'll go with the loss at St. Louis just because by this point they begin to coast and I think Steven Jackson goes off on them. And I picked one division game, because they will not sweep the division again this year and I think Washington and NY blow so I'll give Dallas their home game. Especially now with Dallas going to the 3-4, I think that will let them steal the first game before the Eagles can adjust for the second game.
-
Actually it was an article in the Daily News where a writer had an article stating they should either trade him or pay him, not a quote from TO or Rosenhaus. While I think Rosenhaus is being a douche, the situation is not that bad....yet.

It's lead in was the TUF marathon.

Sanford at least looks trimmer than on the show. Maybe if he had come in in that shape they would not have booted him before fighting. I think it is silly if anyone was expecting the finale to do boffo ratings. It has been hovering around the 1.9 area and this didn't have the type of water cooler hype that is going to lead to a finale spike. Combine that with losing the Raw lead in and being on a Saturday night and I don't think it is terrible that they maintained the status quo. I too, would like to see the replay ratings as I know of two other people who saw the show and both saw it on the Sunday replay.
-
1.9 rating Interesting to note that the show was the most watched show on any channel (cable or broadcast) for males ages 18-34 which is obviously the demo they are going to shoot for.

Phillies: Pat Burrell is on pace for 393 RBIs this season Real positive point: Brett Myers' control is great and is working a 7:1 K:BB ratio.

It appears, at this point, that someone is going to call work on every card. Ogawa was a work, Yoshida was a work, Shamrock was a work, I'm shocked no one has called Fedor being a work yet. "Uh, it was a work because Randleman eased off of Fedor after the head drop. Anyone would have been able to finish him there, but they couldn't have another one of the big three go down to Randleman." Also, Sylvia/Mir was a work to get Zuffa's golden boy over.

Greater Toronto Area and I doubt that covers South Jersey so I can't help you.

Depressing thought for the day: By the original schedule, we would only be 11 days away from seeing this movie. I'm going to go cry now.
