Has everyone else's teams pretty much made the decision already on who they are giving the 2/3rds buyout to? I know the Flyers have all but held a press conference announcing they are releasing Amonte and LeClair. It is going to be one wacky ass FA period once all the players get bought out.
-
What else can they really do though? They don't have much in the line of trading chips, so they have to throw shit at a wall and hope it sticks.

Niittymaki > God > everyone else Shame he is only going to backup Esche to start the season.

Yes, the people demand no-doubters like Nolan Ryan in the hall. We need more pitchers in the hall who have a whopping 2 20-win seasons, a career winning percentage of .526, and an ERA+ of 112 a solid 8 points below Kevin freaking Appier. I'm am also glad to see someone can have 3,000/500 without being a game changing player.

Does the "traded for Oswalt and Konerko" dance. Konerko, Vlad, Clement, Nathan, Oswalt, Fuentes

I can't believe how much Cabrera looks like a 12 year old. I swear at one point it looked like Ortiz was going to pat his head and give him a cookie. IMO, they need to go to a pitching machine next year. It is insane to have stretches where someone will go 5 or 6 pitches without swinging. Everyone can have the machine set to where they want and they can take one pitch per swing to get into their timing. Either that or they have to cut a round. I was just begging for it to get over by the end. And I can't believe during Abreu's 2nd round, after he put up a 24 spot, that they use that time to devote to Selig, steroids, and Rogers. "Well we don't want the Rogers stuff to ruin the festivities, but let's spend 20 minutes on it instead of talking about the man who made history 45 minutes ago." Fuck you ESPN. Well, I feel better now.

Enson Inoue - Igor Vovchanchyn - Pride 10 "Return of the Warriors" (this also has Vanderlei Silva-Guy Mezger and Yvel-Goodridge which can fill in those categories as well) Fedor - Heath Herring - Pride 23 Funny how every recommendation thread Pride 10 comes around sooner rather than later.

God damn that movie was awful. It seemed to me like the most expensive b-movie of all time with terrible acting, too many comedy bits (intentional or unintentional?), and IMO cheesey aliens that played like Godzilla.

I'm in again. Everyone needs a Rutgers on their schedule.

Just a note on this, the "source" that broke the report was WPVI, the local ABC affiliate. I do not recall them ever breaking anything other than most blow job pieces done in a single training camp. So this should probably be taken with less than a grain of salt. Another reason this does not work, not only will TO's contract hamstring them, Porter's new deal would too. If they trade him, IIRC, his whole signing bonus that he just got will collapse into this season's cap. I don't see how they could possibly make it work without releasing 80% of their roster. And Owens would decimate Lito, I think Sheldon could hold his own because he is physical, but Lito would get humiliated.

My 2001 top 10 1. Gilbert Arenas 2. Pau Gasol 3. Samuel Dalembert 4. Tony Parker 5. Joe Johnson 6. Zach Randolph 7. Eddy Curry 8. Jason Richardson 9. Richard Jefferson 10. Bobby Simmons Just missing out - Jamaal Tinsley and Troy Murphy I know Dalembert is high, but I think he is going to be special. In him you have a big who can run the court with AI. That is an unbelievable weapon. I know this sounds funny, but once he learns the game he is going to be a force. Curry would likely be higher without the health issues and Randolph just scares the hell out of me. And I would take Kobe over AI, just for the face Kobe has another decade ahead of him while Iverson is built with string and gum at this point.

I don't know if it is the rule change as much as Bridgestone having crappy short run tires (killing their qualifying efforts), McLaren finally getting their shit together and Renault finally getting the horsepower to match their terrific downforce package. If anything this new rule helps Ferrari, because you notice that Barrichello and Schumacher come on late in races. Without this rule, they would be completely screwed being on newer tires the whole race.

They interviewed one of the pricipals of a Michelin team and he said they pretty much went out there to give the fans at least a little bit of a spectacle. They knew before hand they weren't going to race and how they felt on a warm up lap wouldn't change that. I did not know, until I heard them during the race, that they weren't allowed to change tires and get gas on the same stop anymore. That is pretty dangerous making them run the entire race (and qualifying) on the same tires (obviously fuel will be needed on the stops). I understand they are trying to cut costs, but that is nuts.

I can't fault Ferrari for going through with the race nor do I blame them for standing firm on the chicane issue. They shouldn't be punished, because their competitor brought shitty equipment. I do think it was a bit bush league to not let the Michelin teams use the new tires (the rule being you have to use the tires you qualified on), but again they shouldn't have to bail out Michelin. The main fault lies with two parties. First, Michelin for bringing shitty equipment. Like they said during the broadcast, that corner has been there since 1909 and it is silly to not have equipment to handle it. Second, the FIA for being gutless, political bitches to Ferrari. They should have stood up and said a.) you are getting a chicane, Ferrari shut the fuck up, b.) you are getting the new tires, Ferrari shut the fuck up or c.) chicane is in, it is a non-points paying race, Bridgestone teams get the points based off qualifying position. Hell, it probably would be a better race if there were no points and everyone was just running for a win (look at the NASCAR All-Star race). The idea that the Michelin teams should have gone out and ran slow through that turn is asinine. If I am in a car with a potential blow out, how do I know when I am going slow enough or not?

I would think they were just booing in general that the farce lasted the entire time and they had the brass ones to declare a "winner". Of course Tiego Montoya was hard to boo, as he just looked so sad cheering the only podium he'll ever see.
-
Of course a parade lap isn't going to damage the tires, but they knew before that lap that they would not be racing. So there was no need to make the lap and piss off the fans. And there is no logical reason they did not go with the idea of Bridgestone drivers getting all of the points (since they ended up with that anyway), putting in a chicane and then running the race without points on the line.
-
It was actually not bad watching the TV coverage as the announcers just ripped everyone the entire hour and a half. The worst part, though, was that the Michelin drivers actually went onto the track and made the parade lap. All that did was confuse the fans more and just rub salt in the wounds. At least if they had stayed in the garage, the fans would know that there was some kind of problem. As it played out it was more along the lines of a giant "fuck you" to the fans.

To any of you bastards out there that haven't jumped in feet first and bought the set. Here is your chance to check out the series.

Catching a home run ball? I can live with that being neat (especially if it is like a Phillies game where you get the ball signed by who hit the homer). But blowing a load over someone tossing a ball into the stands three hours before a game is just depressing. I have caught one ball from a BP session. It was from Burrell. As soon as I got home it went to a buddy of mine whose niece loves Burrell. Better there then sitting in a corner where I'll forget about it in two hours.
-
If I had any faith in people I would picture Abreu running away with it, since the Phils play at home 75% of the time until the AS break. Unfortunately being at plenty of games last year and seeing how many of the ballots end up on the ground at CBP, I will remain just cautiously optomistic.

I can't believe anyone would think Sakurai's fight was boring. At worst it was decent, but I thought it was pretty good. Viera was constantly active on the bottom and Sakurai was throwing the whole time (standing, top, bottom). Viera didn't do much when he was on top, but that hardly made it a boring fight. -
Even Evan Tanner feels sorry for him

To the people who have seen it, I assume with all of the praise I have seen flying around for Bushido 7, it is worth ordering tomorrow for the $20?
