About 25 more minutes until Bonnar/Griffin airs again on Spike (I could using viewing number 7).

Diego Sanchez Interview Video Looks like Diego is going to be dropping down a weight class. Is it just me or does it really defeat the purpose of running a competition for middleweights and then bringing in blown up WWs who are just going to drop immediately after?
-
I am interested to see how they play it. Do you go for the immediate rematch with nothing really on the line, but the guarantee that both have momentum or do you wait and hope they both win their first or second fight and put a title shot on the line? I could see them putting Griffin/Bonnar on next season's post-TUF PPV and try to piggy back off of next season's TUF.
-
BTW, reruns will air at 10pm tonight and it's normal time (11:05pm) tomorrow night.
-
I didn't think it was "bullshit" as much as chants for "Bonnar" and "Forrest" kind of blending together. I may have been hearing things there, however, as I couldn't concentrate by that point. I like Rogan, but his pre-fight introductions are hi-freaking-larious. Nobody apparently has any weaknesses in their game. Everyone is either a great striker or a solid striker, everyone has a solid ground game or "sick" submissions. I understand talking up the fighters, but there is something to be said for being honest. It would also help the story more to be honest, as if you know a fighter needs to avoid something it would be interesting to see how they do that.
-
BTW, did anyone notice that Bruce Buffer seemed wayyyyyy too excited when Bonnar was announced as getting a deal too?
-
Actually, I believe Griffin/Bonnar was a work. I think they got together before the fight and realized if they put on an epic fight they would both get contracts.
-
If Ken was that good of an actor on the slip he would have lasted much longer as a wrestler.
-
It should be against the law for a Gracie's first name to be pronounced the way it is spelled. Ryan, Royce, Rickson, Renzo, Royler, then Carlson (?!?) it doesn't fit.
-
BR4L, check out around page 25 there is an interview with Dana White posted. He is asked why someone like Jeremy Horn has not been brought back and he pretty much laughed it off. I don't see Horn being on his to do list when he says something like that.
-
I guess Sanchez is going to stay in the 185 division since that is what he won at? It will be interesting to see how he does moving into the UFC and moving up a weight level at the same time.
-
I just find Lindland boring as fuck. I know he would be in the top level, but to hell with him. And Horn, after reading Dana White's interview, I don't see ever being brought in or he immediately would go to the top.
-
Give Ken credit though, he has the best face in the business for post-fight pictures. I think that thing swells up if he gets hit by a stiff breeze. Come on Rich, stay at LHW where the money matches are. You aren't going to make jack fighting Evan Tanner. Of course Tanner/Terrell/Franklin is a nice top level for that division.
-
Damn, Ace went nuts there. Hard to blame the slip as Shamrock appeared to regain his senses and could have held onto Franklin and at least tried to pull guard. So now the LHW division has Couture/Lidell/Belfort/Franklin/Griffin/Bonnar/Ortiz(?, eventually he'll sign), that is pretty stacked.
-
This crowd is going to turn quick if they don't come out swinging.
-
Can they please hurry up and get past this Franklin/Shamrock match so I can rewind and watch that fight again?
-
HOLY SHIT! That was the greatest fight ever. I want to see Lidell/Griffin right now swinging for the fences motherfuckers! I'm still jumping around the god damn house. Poor Franklin and Shamrock having to follow that.
-
They probably should have stood them up more often, but it was the first time Koscheck was fighting so they probably wanted to see if he would do anything with the position advantage. By the time you got to Koscheck/Sanchez, they knew it would turn into a lay and pray fight so they nipped it in the bud for the second fight.
-
Is it too late to bring back Bo...Bow....alright, I can't go that far.
-
Not much to mention as there is about a 0.01% chance that the Eagles will do anything for him here. They are not going to set a precedent for renegotiating after one year, no matter who it is for. I actually don't think it would be the worst thing in the world to restructure the deal so TO can get some guaranteed money this year instead of next, since they have extra cap room use it now so you have the extra in the future. But like I said, they are not going to set the precedent for renegotiating after one year.

An interesting note of managerial idiocy, stolen from a Phillies board, that I did not even realize watching the game:
-
Can someone explain this to me? Situation: Bottom of the eighth, one run lead, bases loaded, two outs, lefty up Who do you bring in to pitch a.) Billy Wagner or b.) "lefty specialist" Aaron Fultz? If you answered B, you must be Charlie Manuel so please explain that rational. And another thing, top of the ninth with a righty closer up. He is not willing to play the left-right matchup by pinch hitting Utley for Bell but he is willing to pinch hit Kenny Lofton for Jason Michaels who was having the best day at the plate of anyone? I am really not encouraged about Manuel so far this year.
-
2002 - RISP - .342 BA (38 points above average that year) 2003 - RISP - .277 BA (11 points above average that year) He had a bad year last year and a bad three games. That is all.
-
It is really irritating seeing Michaels on the bench now. The one knock against him was his defense (defense that was perfectly acceptable IMO), but Lofton has been atrocious so far. The other big thing with Lofton is they want the "OMG speed on basepaths wreaking havoc" and then they put him in the 6 hole?!? That makes sense.

The Phillies are Brad Wilkerson's bitch. That is all.
