  1. My problem with Doerksen is that he just didn't seem to do anything. I'll have to watch it again (everything else tonight was so awesome maybe I underrated his effort), but save for one or two times Riggs was able to sit up in guard or stand up at will. All in all he just kind of laid there, keeping his legs high when Riggs was in his closed guard. I could also just be severely underrating Riggs, but it just seemed so easy for him to do what he wanted that I immediately think the other guy is in over his head.
  2. Well since we are seeing Parisyian/Diaz, I can forgive somewhat since this fight is freaking awesome.
  3. They need to institute a new rule stating all fighters must wear white trunks. Seeing Couture's trunks, stained in blood, was ridiculous. I can't believe the slo mo shot they had after the incidental headbutt where you could actually see Vitor's blood spurting out onto Couture. Now someone needs to brave somewhere else to find the Parisyian/Diaz result. No way am I risking seeing the PRIDE results. FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK This is fucking bullshit. Why the fuck do they have him here spoiling tomorrow's shit?!?!? FUCK UFC! FUCK DANA WHITE! FUCK PRIDE! FUCK SILVA! FUCK FUCK FUCK.
  4. On a different note, they may have mentioned it and I missed it but did they ever find Vitor's sister?
  5. Yeah and you were only 14:35 off in the time of the match. And is there a reason they are interviewing Kerri fucking Kasem?!?
  6. Lytle/Jhun - Excellent performance by Lytle. He was able to control Jhun whenever he wanted. Plus he brough me a real submission. That guillotine with Jhun rolling every which way trying to escape, to no avail, was pretty sweet. Lytle via submission (guillotine) at 3:?? of Rd.2.
  7. Doerksen/Riggs - Well I got my submission. Of course it was from strikes. Doerksen sucks. Riggs was able to sit up in his guard at will and Doerksen's only noticeable skill was to be able to keep his legs high while using his closed guard. Whoopdee-fucking-doo. Nice Eastman sized cut there at the end on Doerksen. Riggs via submission (strikes) at 3:?? Rd.2.
  8. Holy christ, Lidell/White was an awesome fight. I knew Lidell had a chin, but how the hell did White stay up so long. Big credit to him for taking the bombs he was taking. And he had Lidell's number early, popping in quick shots before Lidell's longer shots could hit. Nice counter shot by Lidell to KO White. More thoughts on the previous three matches (not that there is much to describe): Kyle/Eilers - Well, I guess we see why Kyle had problems with Sims. It wasn't that Sims improved, Kyle just sucks. Nice offense of a knee to the groin by Kyle. Then Eilers with the KO of Kyle. Terrell/Lindland - Play-by-play time. Bell rings...Terrell hits Lindland.....Lindland goes down.....Terrell jumps on Lindland and KhimTFO. Terrell is a motherfucking finisher. If his hands are legit (this knockdown punch didn't look lucky) and his submission reputation is legit, he could be a big force. Edwards/Thompson - Bunch of clinching early. Looked like Thompson just got sloppy, since no damage had been done from the position. Tried to flip Edwards, Edwards got him from behind, pushed away, and brought the greatest kick ever to (this is the song that never ends) KhimTFO. The knockouts have been awesome, but I could go for seeing a longer fight right about now. A submission would rule at this point.
  9. BTW, results for those who did not get the show Eilers def. Kyle via KO at 1:15 in Rd.1 Terrell def. Lindland via KO at :25 in Rd.1 Edwards def. Thomson via KTFO at 4:?? in Rd.1
  10. THUG F'N JITSU~! Yves Edwards is the fucking man. That high kick was one of the greatest fucking things I have ever seen.
  11. Jesus Christ, when they show the G&P shots is slow mo they are fucking sick.
  12. Well, so much for building the heavyweight division around Kyle. I got a kick out of Eilers. He looked like a kid on Christmas with the huge smile and the missing front tooth. And god damn do they have way too much filler crap. Just show the god damn fights and throw in a few quick things like Pride does for the Bushido shows.
  13. Reno Mahe is a sufficient 5 carry a game third back, but they will have to bring in someone. On a couple better notes: I am thrilled with the play of Rod Hood tonight. He was solid when he got into games last year, but tonight is making me more confident he can be a good nickel corner. And Dexter Wynn and J.R. Reed have been awesome on special teams. It does not look like they will skip a beat taking Westbrook away from returning.
  14. Well, it looks like Correll Buckhalter is going to be out for a wihle after crumbling in a heap from a non contact knee injury.
  15. God dammit, I just want to get my 3000/500, get in the HOF and retire to a new player.
  16. In an 8 team league especially, I would not want McGahee, Smith, or Wheatley in my starting lineup. And you are not going to get Henry and Taylor at the 24th and 25th slots. You might get Taylor there, but certainly not both.
  17. If you are going to go QB/WR, I would go with Culpepper/Moss. But I think I would have to grab one RB at either 8 or 9, even if it is overpaying a bit. If you wait until 24 to grab your first RB, you'll be hurting.
  18. The signings of Kearse and Owens gave the fans another glimmer. But if they do it again, they will have to shut down the Ben Franklin bridge due to all of the jumping.
  19. I don't think they would be let down if they read the comics. If they are like me and only know Predator and Alien from the movies, you have no idea what the hell is going on in the last 20 minutes. It at least makes some sense if you have read the comics.
  20. Pinaoya Ogawa throws his hat into the ring.
  21. Eagles are far and away number one. There was actually talk (incredibly stupid talk mind you, but talk anyway) that people did not want the Flyers to win the cup this past year, because they wanted the Eagles to be the ones to break the drought. Flyers and Sixers swap 2 and 3 depending on who is hot. Phillies are 4th, but being the losingest major sports franchise of the last century will do that to you. This year was the Phillies big chance to overtake both the Flyers (perennial playoff chokers) and Sixers (rebuilding era), but all they have done is reinforce the bad atmosphere toward them.
  22. News stolen from a TNA thread that pissed me the hell off: "The decision at this point is do to monthly three-hour shows on Sunday evenings, similar to WWE and Pride, starting in November. The final show at the Asylum in Nashville, at this point, is 9/8. Starting on 9/14, the Orlando tapings will be moved from Thursdays to Tuesdays, to give them more time to edit the post-produce the show for Friday. There will be taped best-of PPV shows airing on 9/15, 9/22 and 9/29, but as of the end of September, TNA won’t have Wednesday night PPVs, and won’t be doing any PPV shows in October. The idea is to have a 7-to-10 week build for the first Sunday show. Since WWE is the powerhouse and has its dates locked up months in advance, it will become a game between Pride and TNA to get dates locked up first. On months that WWE does two PPV shows, those two companies would have to fight over the remaining two dates. While Pride is far bigger, and does slightly better on PPV in the U.S., TNA is more organized long-term. The idea at this point is to charge $29.95 per show, which I think may be a little on the high side, at least to start out. The plan is to upgrade the shows, running them in mid-sized arenas (5,000-to-7,000 seats) throughout the country. Most likely, that will change when they find they can't sell tickets. The original TNA PPV show plan was similar, but after only being able to sell about 100 tickets for the debut show in Huntsville, AL, they moved to Nashville as a permanent home, at the 9,000-seat Municipal Auditorium. When they couldn’t sell tickets there, they moved to the 1,300-seat Fairgrounds, where they usually come close to filling the building with free tickets, as paid is usually hovering around 300 to 400." Ok, Summerslam bumping Pride back a week, I can accept. Arguing that Pride should bump a WWE PPV event is just retarded. But if Pride starts getting bumped more for a Jeff Jarrett public jerk off session, I will be pissed the fuck off.
  23. Heh, I love football, but it is ridiculous how much they cater to it. Anchor: Welcome to CSN Sportsnite. Let's go to the ballpark for 45 seconds worth of clips. ::run Phillies clips: Anchor: Tough one for the Phils. Now here is 28 minutes of fans cheering for Terrell Owens.
  24. Plus, now that they're out of it, you get the joy of E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES chants.
  25. Come on al, just because the ace gave up his 35th homer of the year today doesn't mean anything. *eagerly awaits seeing him sign a 9 mil/yr contract this offseason because he is a "winner"* The schedule has Milton making 9 more starts on the year. Four of them are at home (where he allows 1.15 hr/gm) and 5 on the road: Mil Hou Atl NY Fla Can he average 1.67 HR allowed/start and hit the elusive 50 mark? Stay tuned and find out.
