  1. You do get the full fights as well as all of the prelim fights. They don't show the entrances for all of the fights, but that really isn't an issue after UFC 43 (the last appearance of the ramp and entranceway, IIRC). There are also some extras starting from UFC43, mostly consisting of a couple of post fight and prefight interviews and maybe a vid package or two.
  2. I like the April release. It puts it near the beginning of the ever expanding "summer" season, but keeps it away from the big blockbuster movies.
  3. I saw that matchup in the paper this morning and realized it might be a good time to see a movie tonight.
  4. <------ WellHereIAm I debated going with "7th year TV star" and going with a cranky gimmick, but I would forget in a week anyway.
  5. Being a RFA he would have to sign with the Dolphins before being traded and he isn't going to do that unless he gets a big extension. So they would end up taking on another big contract.
  6. I just want to mention that the power of Jewel Staite continues to push this show on. Flashback to Monday: Setting - work Myself and a coworker are talking about old Nick shows. In the can you top this part I mention watching Space Cases because I had a crush on Jewel Staite. Coworker: Which one was that? Myself: Catalina Coworker: The one with the rings in her hair? Same here man. Myself (seizing the opportunity): Well she was in an excellent show called Firefly. ::Tuesday, DVDs are lent to coworker:: ::Fast forward to today:: Coworker: That show kicks all sorts of ass Jewel Staite and Firefly can not be denied.
  7. That Carter/AI deal wasn't reported on WIP. They talked about how that got blown out of proportion today. What happened was someone called in saying they heard the rumor, somewhere. The hosts talked about it for a couple minutes and said that it was not something the Sixers would do and there was no validity to the rumor.
  8. God damn how the fuck is Fedor still alive?
  9. No matter how many times I have seen those, I still have to watch for at least 2-3 minutes
  10. That guy was the best. "Uh, good job. You just need to lose 15 to 20 pounds more."
  11. The morning after and I am still juiced up from the powerbomb. I just spent about the last 5 minutes watching a gif of it over on at SD.
  12. Vicente Padilla left his rehab start after 33 pitches with elbow tenderness. Not a good sign. Rumblings for Gavin Floyd are really going to heat up now. I would like to see Madson get a true shot at the job, but if they move Madson out of the pen Wade will just go get another Mike Williams caliber arm to replace him. That I don't need.
  13. Overall thoughts: Saku/Schembri - Decent enough fight. Saku was doing well standing, but he would throw a combo and then back off instead of following up when Elvis got stunned. I don't recall Schembri doing anything of note other than a couple of flurries thinking back on it. Arona/Jackson - MOTHERFUCKING POWERBOMB~! I was worried when the fight went to the ground, since everyone says that Arona is usually boring. But he seemed to stay pretty active and was in position for the triangle. Maybe Jackson saw the Hughes slam from last night and played a game of can you top this. Arona was bitching about the accidental headbutt (I would assume), but it was his own fault he got slammed so fuck him. Sergei/Schilt - I was surprised at how well Sergei was able to do while in standup. Schilt won the standup part, but Sergei did a respectable job of countering and limiting big damage. I was very impressed with Sergei's ability to break Schilt's grip and ground and pound. And his ability to stay on top was amazing. To keep his balance through all of Schilt's attempts to buck was very impressive. Ogawa/Silva - Well, Silva lasted a little longer then I thought he would. The fact he didn't get caught in a sub was impressive to me, but he still appears to be lost in regards to escaping. Baby steps though. Hunt/Yoshida - I was disappointed in the fact Hunt didn't really try to strike at all standing up. But his ability to escape the subs was very impressive. And I loved the defense to the toe hold. Herring/Nog - It is funny how Herring can look so pedestrian against everyone else, but when he gets in there with Nog he turns into this much more impressive fighter. Maybe one of these days he will get some meaningful offense in (instead of just escaping everything), but still entertaining none the less. And it has to be scary for future opponents to know that there is another position from which Nog can sub you from. Fedor/Randleman - How the fuck is Fedor still standing after that slam? Dropped on his god damn head and he turns it into sidemount. I had it all set in my head , after that slam, that it was going to be a strange final four with Nog, Sergei, Ogawa, and Randleman. Then boom, Fedor shows me I am a fool. Overall thoughts: I was pleased with the show. A couple of huge slams to get the juices flowing, Sergei with the classic teabag ground and pound, an impressive debut for Hunt and thirty odd Bushido 4 adds. I did think they got a little carried away with all of their animations. The Saku animation was bad fucking ass, but the rest seemed unnecessary (except the dancing green thing of Ogawa).
  14. OH MY GOD! MOTHERFUCKING POWERBOMB~!
  15. IIRC, Grienke got at least one last night and I recall a few other instances of Phillies having to lean back out of the way. On another note, Thome is GAWD! We were thisclose to going insane if that third shot had stayed fair. Also, apparently Byrd has been sent back to the minors.
  16. Carl Pavano at 7-2, 2.81 will probably have a case.
  17. Overall thoughts: Baroni/Tanner - From this point forward Baroni's entrance should consist of him coming down to the ring in a little yellow bus. Flashback to Baroni/Tanner I, Baroni dominated that fight before the cut stoppage. After that, he seemed to gas and fell victim to a takedown which put him in position to be stopped. So one would think that the best way to train would be to just work on his cardio so he doesn't gas out in two minutes. Instead he appears to drop a bunch of weight, looks a good bit softer than the first fight, and has no energy. Tanner controlled the standup, taking shots whenever he wanted. Baroni had a 10-15 second flurry in round 3 that brough a little drama into the equation and rocking Tanner a couple of times. But in the end it was all Tanner. He controlled the standup, he controlled position against the cage, and Baroni had no answer. Hughes/Verissimo - Best fucking round I ever saw (not fight as I said before, note to self never post while a fight is still going on). Very reminiscent of Saku/Rampage, where Verissimo would lock on an armbar and Hughes would pick him up and slam. Verissimo then locked on a triangle and Hughes appeared to go for another slam. This time, however it did not happen, and Hughes fell still trapped in the triangle. Attempting to escape he rolled onto his back, resulting in Verissimo having Hughes in a triangle while in the mount position. This position loosened the choke, though, and Hughes eventually escaped again. The round finished with Verissimo repeatedly going for a triangle and Hughes escaping. Round 2 went much the same way as Round 1 finished, with Hughes getting the takedown and getting in Verissimo's guard. Verissimo again tried for triangles and armbars, but could not get anything locked in. Round 3, Hughes was able to get Verissimo down at will, but just went into a L&P for the whole round. An arguement could be made that Hughes had enough control of the fight to win, but IIRC two judges had the fight 30-27. There is no way that Hughes won the first round as Verissimo had Hughes trapped in numerous subs. Hughes was able to escape them, but did nothing other than escape subs. Mir/Sylvia - Mir gets Sylvia in an armbar. Mir breaks Sylvia's forearm. Don't have any more to say than that. Hallman/Trigg - This fight had me worried to start as it was boring as fuck for the first couple of minutes. Then Trigg got a takedown and into Hallman's guard. Hallman eventually got into position to go for a leglock which was the beginning of the end for him. Hallman held onto the leg while getting pounded, but he never had position to lock it. They were in the same position as Couture/Ortiz ended where Couture was just sitting on him. Hallman was not going to get Trigg's leg extended, so the only purpose his attempt served was to get the shit kicked out of him. Trigg started pounding and by the time Hallman let go, Trigg already had position and was raining in blows. The double middle finger by Trigg was a nice touch. St. Pierre/Heiron - Apparently, Heiron is an expert in boxing and wrestling. If that is the case then it just speaks more about St.Pierre. He won the standup battle, rocking Heiron a couple of times. Eventually, dropping him with a shot he pounced on the downed Heiron and threw elbows for the stoppage. Shamrock/Kimo - They immediately get in the clinch and trade knees to the body. They get against the cage, where Kimo drops his head. One knee to the face later and Kimo's dream of being in the HW title hunt is gone. Overall - I was very happy with this show. The two matches that went to a decision were good and from that point on we got finishes which are also good. It was a nice mix of quality fights and highlight reel material.
  18. Fights not shown: Serra via decision Prangley via sub in Rd 2 (side choke/neck crank combo thingamajig)
  19. So much for Kimo saying he wanted in the HW title scene.
  20. Shamrock wins at 1:23 in RD 1 via KO. They spent the whole time in the clinch trading knees to the body. Shamrock got one through and down went Kimo.
  21. During intros Shamrock's reaction sounded a little bigger.
  22. They both seemed to get a decent sized reaction. Didn't notice too well, however, as I was not paying attention to the entrances.
  23. FUCK! They are now doing the interview the celebs segment. Carlos Newton is in attendance and picks Ken, Tim, and Hughes. (well 1-1, though should be 0-2 so far.) Cindy Crawford says absolutely nothing. "I hope to make it through, this is my first fight." WTF does that even mean? Make it through? Is she fucking afraid of falling asleep of something. Give the fucking ticket to someone who wants it.
  24. I have to laugh in the preview package Shamrock talking about his biggest strength being his heart. Didn't he stop the Fujita fight, because he thought he was having a heart attack?
  25. Then he botched a back flip celebration (landed on his knees), but followed nicely with a spinaroonie and a mediocre kip up. And they are confirming a broken forearm on Sylvia.
