Didn't RVD's TV title reign end because he broke his ankle in a match with Rhino?? I don't see how this could damage Cena. Cena will come back even better because no one beat him, he's still an undefeated champion for what... 12+ months? Yep, and the TV title never recovered. Not that I'm saying the same thing will happen to the WWE title, but I just hate forfeiting titles. Hell, have Orton (and possibly more heels) jump Cena backstage, give him the punt a few times, and then have Orton beat Cena quickly for the title in the ring. Then, if needed, have some other face come out and face Orton. Even if it's a quick shitty match, I'd still rather the title be lost in a match, not in an interview.

Kayfabe-wise, this is gonna come off SO bad. Cena's dad volunteers to get the shit beat out of him a few weeks ago so that Cena won't get stripped of the title, and now Cena has to come out and go "sorry dad. I'm hurt. I'm just gonna give up the title voluntarily."

Either way, this fucking sucks. They should find some way to let Cena wrestle. It just looks really bad when title after title after title has to be forfeited. Especially on a reign as long as Cena's.
