  1. 1. The Rock - Just seems like it would be a blast to hang out with 2. Chris Jericho - One of my all time favorites, seems to have a personality easy to relate with 3. Mick Foley - Maybe the most interesting person I can think of in the biz 4. Vince McMahon - To see what a day in his life is like 5. Steve Austin - My favorite wrestler from years gone by
  2. I was at the Stadium today. Thanks for jinxing it, jerks. Jeff Weaver rekindled days gone by, getting bitch slapped around to the tune of 6 runs at Yankee Stadium. Just not in a Yankee uniform this time.
  3. Tom Brady wearing a Yankee hat, dating supermodels - breaking NEWZ E! + VH1 + sprinkled in sports clips = ESPN ?
  4. Baseball-Reference's top 10 most similiar pitchers to Andy Pettitte through age 34: Mike Mussina (914) Dwight Gooden (909) Bruce Hurst (903) Lefty Gomez (900) * Kevin Brown (892) Jack Morris (891) John Candelaria (891) Bob Welch (890) Warren Spahn (881) * Frank Viola (878)
  5. Mussina too. He's never won 20, but has won 19 several times. Pettitte's won 20 twice (96, 03) and there have not been many 20 game winners over their careers. He also is 14-9 career in the postseason. Neither have won Cy Youngs, but look who was racking them up during the era - Clemens, Pedro, Johnson.
  6. Here's one I've been kicking around with a few different people recently. When Andy Pettitte retires, will he have a Hall of Fame resume? I think that 240-250 or so wins should make him a very interesting candidate, especially given his era of offense/PEDs/bandboxes/expansion and his postseason performances. He's been a key contributor to 7 World Series teams.
  7. Yankees win, theeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Yankees win game 1 of 2. Vizcaino blew the win for Pettitte by giving up a game tying homer to Jerry Hairston Jr (his first in almost 2 years), and then steals Andy's win for himself thanks to an 8th inning RBI double by Matsui. Pettitte should be 4-0, but is 1-0 thanks to the pen.
  8. Bill Plashke. He's perrenially on his high horse.
  9. Yankees promoted Matt DeSalvo and Darrell Rasner, who will start Sunday and Monday. They also called up Chris Britton but he will be optioned back when Mike Mussina returns.
  10. 2X header tomorrow in Arlington. Yanks third rain out of the year.
  11. Two players from my tiny D-II school have been signed - WR Evan Prall (Vikings) and QB Jim Terwilliger (Cardinals) Prall Terwilliger Local paper article
  12. Clemens will not be a Yankee. He's pulling his usual play the media routine and will be in Houston by June. This bad start by the Yanks on top of the pitching problems will only help him get more coin out of Drayton McClain.
  13. Phil Hughes will never see the minors again.
  14. Luis Viscaino hurls a 1-2-3 9th, and the Yankees close out a 10-1 two-hitter. Both surrendered by Myers. Hughes gets his first ML win.
  15. The best part about tonight's game was Bobby Murcer returned to the booth.
  16. I was still holding out hope for a team-no hitter, but then I saw Mike Myers come out for a second inning of work. So much for that. Tonight's postgame show will be getting YES some pretty high ratings, as everyone wants to know what's going on with Hughes.
  17. Phil Hughes pitches 6.1 innings of a no hitter and comes out with 83 pitches and an apparent injured hamstring. Yanks lead Texas 9-1 in the top of the 9th.
  18. Not surprizingly there's a TON of love coming from ESPN about the Pats' aquisition of Randy Moss.
  19. Like I said years ago during the Minnesota/Montreal contraction rumors, I don't think that a team with a world championship should be allowed to be contracted.
  20. Passing up Brian Leonard to have him go with the very next selection: worst mistake in the entire history of the NFL draft.
  21. Yanks make DICE-K~!!!! (HoF) their whipping boy for the second time this week.
  22. "Briggs to Washington 50-50" Well, wasn't it always 50-50? It was either going to happen, or it wasn't.
  23. Keyspan Park is supposed to be awesome. So is the home of the Staten Island Yankees.
