  1. Yanks hope to catch lightning in a bottle again like in 2006 with Sydney Ponson, they went out and signed Runelvys Hernandez to a minor league deal.
  2. Max refers to his lister(s) as the Kellerman Army. When somebody calls in, they'll say "reporting for duty, sir!" and Max will reply, "at ease."
  3. Gamenight is woeful. I think Doug Gotlieb and John Seibel are the hosts.
  4. For those of you in ESPN Radio markets, I was wondering if you could share the lineups of the your local affiliates - so we can see just how much suck these stations are putting out, as well as where else this garbage is being syndicated to. In New York: 6-10 Mike & Mike 10-12 Max Kellerman (this was Colin Cowherd's slot for the longest time) 12-2 Steven A Smith 2-4 Dan Patrick 4-7 Michael Kay (During Yankee season he leaves at 6 for YES) Then it's a combo of Knicks/Rangers stuff during the season, Gamenight, and All Night with Jason Smith (Weekends is Bob Valvano) I gave up on this station roughly a year ago, with the exception of catching Kay during Yankee season, though lately I've given up sports radio altogether it seems. Mostly because of terrible hosts between 1050 and The Fan. As bad as SAS is, I think Mike and Mike is by far the worst sports talk show around. Possibly ever.
  5. WFAN.com poll: The NBA Finals Start Tomorrow Night, How Excited Are You About It? Very Excited, I'm Going to Watch Every Game 6% Somewhat Excited, I Will Watch Few Games 20% Not Too Excited, I Will Check The Scores In Tomorrow's Paper 26% Who Cares?.... It's Baseball Season 47%
  6. I want to know where Clemens all of a sudden got this "big game pitcher" title. As it's already been pointed out, he's anything but a big game pitcher, save for a few instances. He was no more than mediocre as a Yankee from 1999-2003, except in '01 when he won the CYA.
  7. Ah hah Fun fact: The pick the Yankees gained from Houston by losing Pettitte in 2004 turned out to be Phil Hughes.
  8. I thought teams couldn't lose picks anymore by signing FA's?
  9. And you're crazy
  10. Edited for accuracy
  11. Cano's had 2 good years.
  12. Barry Larkin for Washington? Wassupwitdat?
  13. They are televising the MLB draft.
  14. I did at the Stadium (on April 25th!)
  15. No FOX or ESPN games for me this week...dynamo!
  16. My DirecTV started to tile out on me and I missed the first 5 or so minutes of the Cena/Khali match due to a huge rain storm we were getting. It came back with them fighting in the crowd and it literally ended about 2 minutes later. I ordered Judgment Day on a whim, I thought it had an interesting line-up and I had some cash to blow on a boring night. It was the first event I bought since Survivor Series 2001. I had a good time watching it, and I thought it was better than ONS:ER. Then I ordered last night on a whim again, but realized that I probably liked JD more because of the cache of not getting a ppv in almost six years. I think I'll save up and skip these things for another while now. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed ONS as well, especially the cage match, but it wasn't the same. Plus the 3 title matches were simple rematches from two weeks ago.
  17. I would think it's some sort of goof, since he still has on his Rated-R boots on.
  18. Where are all the Yanks fans on this board? They've been awfully quiet lately. I've been at work. And there aren't many here to begin with.
  19. Who else saw that sign in the front row, over toward the left of the screen a little bit that said "Smart Marks hate Cena?"
  20. And promtley give them to me, because this year they're playing .667 ball (2-1) with me there.
  21. Thankfully, mercifully, 92.3 Free FM in New York is dead, and from its ashes rises K-Rock, WXRK, the former tenant of those numbers. It has been long overdue. It went from K-Rock to Free FM after Stern left to Sirius about a year and a half ago, and there has been a huge hole left in it's wake. The only show surviving from the Free FM all-talk format will be Opie and Anthony from 6-9 am. Also, for the interim, there are no DJs. Former jocks have gone on to stuff like XM (Cane), Stern (Crazy Cabbie), and VH1 (Chris Booker)
