May I add, the Yankees bullpen SUCKS. Rare good-great outing for Jaret Wright (6 innings, 5 hits, 1 run), the pen can't do shit, especially, you guessed it, Farnsy, and they can't hit their way out of a paper bag tonight to give J-Wright some back up.

I think the Giants should be about as good as last year's run of 11-5, give or take one. The addition of Arrington was great, plus they get Pierce back. They got rid of both the Will CB's, finally. Madison, McQuarters, Demps, should be solid secondary additions. I was confused when they took Kiwankua...however its spelled...in the first round since their top two defensive players already play his position. I guess they want to get ready to phase Strahan out, or something. The WR corps upgrade with Moss was solid, adding some speed and a deep threat for Eli as he continues to emerge in his 3rd season. Tiki will be Tiki and the line should hold up.

Bad news: I just picked up Jason Marquis off the free agent list in fantasy, and he pretty much conceded the ERA points for this week. My first really awful start of the season, since my rotation features Hallady, Bonderman, and Pedro, plus BJ Ryan and Jenks. Good news: I also just picked up Joe Crede, in time for in to go 5-8 with 3 HRs, 4 RBI, and 5 runs scored in the first two days on my team.

I didn't get to see the game tonight, but...this is just getting rediculous.

His last 3 outings have began in the 8th inning. On their last road trip to Detroit, he pitched 3 innings in one game, and hurt his back the next day. He did it bending over tieing his shoe, which tells me he was really stiff, especially after sitting on the bench in between each inning when he is generally used to warming up, coming in, and going home. No, he has never had injury problems...but when you get to your mid 30's, the chances of it surely increase. If Dotel doesn't show up and go back to his lights out form of a few years ago, which is what most people around here are banking on, this team is in major trouble.

And Rivera pitches in the 8th inning AGAIN, the third time in his last 3 appearances. He started the 8th tonight, and was used for the full 6 outs. The bullpen is getting really, really, rediculous that it's at this point in June. The only time Mo should ever be in a game at this time, this frequently is in October/Late September playoff push. He will be completely worn out by the time crunch time comes.

What does the phone guy say in that one commercial? I can't decipher it. He says Hey Neil! Neil! It's ____, baby! the line being where he seems to be saying his name. It sounds like he says "Vegas" to me, but its really jumbled.

Then when he did play...they lost...

Fun fact: None of the guys the Yankees shipped out to Arizona for the oversized unit are with the team any more. (Vazquez, Halsey, Navarro)

I don't know if you can totally say that, take the starting QB off of pretty much any team in the NFL and look at what happens. McNabb and Vick being two that came quickly to mind.

Was Torre just straight up not paying attention when he brought Rivera in to the 8th inning (....for the second day in a row...) with the pitcher's spot due up 3rd in the top of the 9th.

Bernie comes up with a huge home run in the top of the ninth, and the Yanks tack on another run in the inning to take the lead, and the game, 7-5. No thanks to you-know-who.

Rowand is a very good outfielder, which I learned first hand during a Yanks/Chisox series last summer where he was outstanding.

The Cubs suck. That's really the only way I can phrase it. If it makes you feel any better, the Cubs are ranked #2 behind myself in my MLB 2K6 franchise power rankings. They're the best team in the virtual NL.

The Unit got 5 games for the beanball, and Torre 1.

They have very good young developing starters like Bonderman, Maroth, and Verlander, and non of them has had to deal with any pressure since a) there hasn't been any to begin with and b) the Rogers signing added a veteran and a guy who could hold down the fort at the top of the rotation till one of those guys fully becomes a #1. I didn't like it for them at first, but it's worked out.
