Next Month's Smackdown magazine has Royal Rumble winner on cover
landy1987 replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
I seem to remember that a few weeks before WrestleMania 19, a WWE Magazine cover was leaked early online with Goldberg on the cover, which kind of spoiled that they had signed him to come in as they didn't announce it until Mania. -
I recall the Hardys vs. Edge & Christian match from KOTR 99 being pretty good as well
-
Some of my favourites: Eddie returning on the first Raw only show in 2002 Flair's & Lawler's return the day after Survivor Series 01 Goldust & Mr. Perfect's returns in the 2002 Rumble Rick Rude's return in 97 (to the WWF not WCW)

They edited a lot of the songs but not really well as if you listen closely you can still hear the music in the background as they still left the commentary in tact for most of it. )WM3 and WM6 particularly) I have the first 2 sets up to WM11 and these are all the songs I noticed were edited: WM1 - JYD - "Another One Bites the Dust", US Express - "Born in the USA", Hogan - "Eye of the Tiger" and I'm sure they put in new music for Liberace's entrance. The closing and opening themese were also altered. I'm still surprised they could use Cyndi Lauper's music though. WM2 - I'm pretty sure there were no music alterations WM3 - Hillbilly Jim, Koko B Ware and Ricky Steamboat and they took out the song used in the closing credits by Aretha Franklin and just used her National Anthem singing from the beginning instead WM4 - Muraco/Superstar Billy Graham, Ricky Steamboat, Slick/Reed, Demolition WM5 - Slick/Twin Towers, Demolition (they seemed to edit some of the Piper's Pit segment as well when Piper chased Brother Love away after ripping his kilt off) WM6 - Koko B Ware, Demolition, Dusty Rhodes, Orient Express, Big Boss Man, Slick/Akeem, Jimmy Snuka and I'm sure for some reason they edited out Finkel announcing the SkyDome attendance for the show WM7 - Jimmy Snuka, Tenryu/Kitao, Demolition, Big Boss Man and they took out the pointless Instant Replay Debate WM8 - Just Flair's music seemed to be edited WM9 - No edits WM10 - Leilani Kai and I'm sure they edited the Quebecers theme as well WM11 - Just the Salt N Pepa performance was cut out

I believe it was either April or May 1986 (from what I remember watching it was the awful looking out of shape Andre from WrestleMania 2 and not the Andre from 1984 who was slightly more mobile and had a lot more hair)
-
Following WrestleMania 4, they pushed the Harts mainly as singles wrestlers, mostly Bret as a face. After several weeks of Bret beating "heel" jobbers without Jimmy Hart at ringside, Jimmy appeared at ringside one time with Bret, but Bret sent him backstage, not long after that Jimmy came to ringside again but refused to go backstage this time, and so Neidhart came out and ordered that he went. Jimmy then eventually aligned himself with the Rougeau Brothers and would give them 25% each of the Hart Foundation's contracts as he still was still contractually involved with them. As for Fuji, I believe they just wanted to turn Demolition face, as in house show matches with Demo and the Powers of Pain, Demolition who were supposed to be the heels were getting cheered more than the POP, who were the faces.
-
Maybe they just filmed interviews with Moolah & Mae to put on other DVDs, during the documentary portion? For example the recent DVDs on Bret, LOD, Jake and Warrior all had comments and interviews from various wrestlers, agents, etc. That's just my guess anyway as I really doubt they would release a Moolah and Mae DVD

Rise and Fall of the World Bodybuilding Federation
landy1987 replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in General Wrestling
In the Spring or Summer of 1992 they did have an interesting show where several WWF stars appeared and I believe there was a Tug Of War contest between the WWF (heel wrestlers such as Dibiase) and WBF stars with the WBF winning. I believe this was also Bill Alfonso's first appearance to be involved with the WWF as he was the referee for the contest (he had just left WCW a very short time before jumping over) -
To hype his match with Andre... nothing else
-
The other guy doing commentary was Pete Doherty. Mike McGuirk incase your wondering later became the ring announcer for Wrestling Challenge which she must have ended up doing for about 6 years or something. I'm sure Heenan did commentary for the Bulldogs/Harts match though thankfully but its not the match on Bret's DVD, the one of the DVD is an MSG match from 1985.
-
Definitely someone else
-
I believe it was on 24-7 a few months back as part of a Sgt. Slaughter Hall of Fame special
-
So what have they done about the Rockers/Hart Foundation match from the April 1990 Saturday Night's Main Event they are using? I'm certain Vince and Jesse did the commentary for that one. If they have just edited Jesse's commentary from that match so it's just Vince talking to himself, then why couldn't they do the same with the Savage match?
-
For a DVD such as for the Ultimate Warrior, they obviously thought it wasn't worth paying Jesse royalties for just one match. Instead they'll spend a lot of time making sure all his commentary is gone (in the documentary part also). After all other recent DVD releases, I'm guessing the Bret and Jake DVDs will have all Jesse's commentary removed which may spoil some matches

This was a released at some point in 2003, just a re-release from an old Coliseum Video or Columbia House tape (like they re-released 'casue Stone Cold Said So, Undertaker: He Buries Them Alive, Andre the Giant, History of WrestleMania I-IX etc.)
-
The Rockers match I guess will either be from MSG 11-89, SNME 4-90 or from Prim Time 9-89 (also on Coliseum video)
-
It's the time of the full chapter basically. Does anyone know the time of Bret/Owen WM10 match? As if that was around 20-min then that must be the other Bret/Owen match listed I guess. I just want to know the dates of the Bulldogs, Bees and DiBiase the matches the most. I don't want to guess the Bulldogs match as it could be anything (an MSG from 1985?) The Bees match will probably be from the same time period. DiBiase will be either MSG 12/91, SNME 4/91 or from Prime Time (and coliseum video) in 1989

Or, they got the month wrong. Keep in mind the Bret/Owen SummerSlam cage match was on August 29th . . . . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would doubt that because the time listed is 17:20 and the cage match was over 30 minutes.
-
I think they got the date wrong, so I'd guess its one of the following (I'd guess its the Action Zone match): WWF @ Portland, ME - Civic Center - August 17, 1994 (3,596) WWF Superstars taping: WWF World Champion Bret Hart pinned Owen Hart at 13:50 with a roll up in a lumberjack match; lumberjacks included: Jim Neidhart, 1-2-3 Kid, Jeff Jarrett, Billy & Bart Gunn, the Headshrinkers, the Heavenly Bodies, Kwang, Well Dunn, & Kwang; the challenger had originally won the match and title at 3:06 after Jim Neidhart interfered as Owen was caught in the Sharpshooter and clotheslined the champion - however several of the lumberjacks and other officials had the finish replayed on the big screen so the referee could see what had happened; the match was ordered to continue (Wham Bam Bodyslam) WWF @ White Plains, NY - Westchester County Civic Center - September 28, 1994 Action Zone - 10/23/94 - initial episode: WWF World Champion Bret Hart pinned Owen Hart (w/ Jim Neidhart) at 15:01 after Davey Boy Smith caused the challenger to crotch himself on the top rope; Smith came ringside mid-way through the bout to counter Neidhart's interference; this was deemed Owen's last shot at the title; after the bout, Bret cut an in-ring promo on Bob Backlund, giving him a title shot at the Survivor Series

The Tagged Classics are only re-releases of the original Coliseum Videos on DVD, and so the first 7 WrestleManias are heavily edited from the PPV broadcast (except WM4) And the deal with Jesse's commentary is they can use it whenever they want (has nothing to do with it being released previously) they just have to pay him a certain amount of $$$ in royalty fees if they choose to use his voice (which they haven't done for some releases to save themselves some money) There is no bad heat between WWE and Jesse, that's just the ruling that was made back 10 or 11 years ago and so why should Jesse bother try changing it when he can still make money for doing practically nothing? (And I guess it must be a considerable amount which is why they have edited him from most DVD releases over the past few years, and the ones he has been used on he must have recieved royalty fees for it)
-
They have the Bret/Benoit tribute match for Owen (although we've seen that before on Benoit's DVD) Did he have any other matches in WCW that would be worth including? (I rarely saw WCW so don't have a clue)
-
Yeah, looks like some quality stuff. Glad to see that some quality matches are on there, especially stuff with Steamboat, DiBiase, the Rockers, and the Bulldogs. Betting that the Harts/Bulldogs match will be the title victory, but I don't know that for sure. Plus the two matches with Davey Boy, one will be SummerSlam '92, and I'm hoping the other is the IYH 5 bloodbath (Bret bled huge in that one, and it's a quality match). I'll be anxious to see an "easier to read" version of the listing that's hopefully got dates, etc. on it. So far, looks excellent! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> From the times listed next to each match I doubt that is the Harts/Bulldogs title change, it will probably be a match from MSG in 1985 I would guess
