  1. Packers get another chance because of a BS "roughing the passer" call...
  2. I don' know if this was posted on here before: http://www.bangcartoon.com/childsplay.htm Banner as Mr. Burns is hysterical.
  3. Backed into it? They are a floating corpse that happened to wash on shore. It's honestly a miracle that Bowden didn't suffer a losing season with this bunch. Losing Wyatt Sexton really hurt them offensively but their secondary is really waaaay behind what an FSU secondary used to be. I still haven't heard if Sexton will be back next year, I'm hoping so as Weatherford has the Chris Rix gene now. He had so many flashes of good tonight only to follow them up with "jesus, what the fuck was that?!?!" Yes, I know he's a freshman but still...those were behind bad decisions tonight. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Losing Antonio Cromartie before the year hurt them a great deal, he was their top CB. I think they need a new offensive coordinator more than anything, but I fear Bobby doesn't have the heart to pull his son from the position.
  4. Nah it's not baiting him, I've read Slayer's posts about the Big XII before and he seems very knowledgeable about the conference...
  5. I would say Edwin is the ACC expert, Slayer is the Big XII expert, and teke is the SEC expert on this board. Iggy's quite knowledgable on the sport as well.
  6. So I'd imagine the Big East's bowl order goes like this then - BCS - West Virginia Gator - Louisville Insight - Rutgers Meineke Car Care - USF I'd imagine Rutgers will draw more than USF will, which is why I put them in the Insight Bowl.
  7. This is the likely setup for the BCS bowls: Rose: USC vs. Texas Fiesta: Notre Dame vs. Penn State or Ohio State Orange: Virginia Tech vs. Ohio State or Penn State Sugar: LSU or Georgia vs. West Virginia
  8. Fiesta has first pick if Texas goes to the Rose Bowl. Either we get ND-OSU in the Fiesta Bowl, the equivalent of Hogan vs. HHH in college football or we get ND-PSU, which would be like Hogan vs. Flair.
  9. Whoever ranked the conferences earlier was dead-on. Even though the Big Ten hasn't been too great this year it is the second best when compared to the Big XII and ACC this year. About FSU, they need to throw everything they have into getting Mark Richt back there once Bobby decides to retire... If ND loses this game, it probably hurts Louisville because the Gator Bowl will definitely take ND to possibly play Miami.
  10. USF loses and the Big East exhales, as West Virginia is now in the BCS.
  11. I was looking at 2006 schedules, and I noticed that OU is running a fucking gauntlet next year. 3 OOC games are Oregon at Autzen Stadium, Washington at home which won't be too hard, then Miami in Norman. That is one tough OOC. OU/Miami should get a primetime slot on ABC, considering its two huge programs meeting, although not for the first time.
  12. Phillies games are ok, except with drunk morons that do Eagles chants. Sixers games are kinda boring. Flyers games are fun to go to, and Eagles games are tons of fun, but you do have to possess a great tolerance of drunken morons. I've been to a couple PSU games, they're fun as all hell.
  13. Yeah seriously. If it wasn't for Texas being undefeated and #2 this year, the Big XII could possibly be on the same level as the Big East.
  14. I highly doubt NJ having a team, considering North Jersey is dominated by the Yankees and Mets while South Jersey is Phillies territory. It'd be like the Devils, who never sell out games in the regular season and have tons of problems selling tickets for the playoffs unless its to visiting fans from Philly or New York.
  15. Houston for the Bayou Classic.
  16. As do I. And about media hype that USC gets, they're the #1 team and 2-time champions so of course the media is going to hype them. Wait until the next time Notre Dame gets a #1 ranking, it'll make USC's hype look small by comparison.
  17. Baltimore at Cincinnati (9.5) (4.5) Carolina at Buffalo Chicago at Tampa Bay (3.5) Cleveland at Minnesota (3.5) New England at Kansas City (3.5) (3.5) San Diego at Washington San Francisco at Tennessee (8.5) (3.5) St. Louis at Houston (3.5) Jacksonville at Arizona Miami at Oakland (7.5) Green Bay at Philadelphia (4.5) N.Y. Giants at Seattle (4.5) New Orleans at N.Y. Jets (1.5) Pittsburgh at Indianapolis (8.5)
  18. I never heard of an Ohio State fan root for Michigan for the good of the Big Ten. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You don't cheer for the #1 rival though. Forgot that part. I still wish blowouts on Florida in the postseason. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is where the Dama issue comes in. Oklahoma and Texas are bitter rivals. If it was Nebraska in Texas' position and Dama was pulling for them, I could understand more because from what I've seen and read, the Nebraska-Oklahoma rivalry is more respectful. Oklahoma-Texas on the other hand, The Boz once talked about how he hated all things Texas, including their "puke orange" colors. Kotz, it's very similar to what you said about Florida. This is very much the same as that is.
  19. I'm sorry but as an NJ resident, if Rutgers ever got to a BCS bowl it would be like Armageddon. I agree with you though about WVU and Louisville, they seem to get enough respect nationwide that if they were 9-2 or 10-1, the'd be a top 12 BCS team and no one would complain. People tend to worry about stuff like the USF scenario, which could put a 7-4 team in the BCS.
  20. So it's kinda like "The enemy of my enemy is my friend, even if the enemy of my enemy is supposed to be my enemy as well"... Personally, I don't care much, I just want to see one of the top 2 lose so PSU can sneak into the Rose Bowl.
  21. I love how I'm the bad guy on this issue, never mind the fact that YOU'RE A SOONER ROOTING FOR TEXAS. If that doesn't scream "fake fan" I don't know what does. I may have baited you some times, but seriously, quit whining. If you don't like it, there's an ignore button.
  22. Looking at WVU's future OOC's, they're probably good for a few 9-2's or 10-1's if they win the Big East.
  23. I remember Terry Dean being completely on fire the first few games of 1994, then having a terrible game against Auburn, which led to Spurrier yanking him and Danny Wuerffel taking over the QB position full-time. Heh, Robbie the Retard is on there. Seeing Kerry Collins on there reminds of me how great that Penn State offense was in 1994 and why I wish that no matter how flawed the BCS is, for it to be around in 1994 because I could not see the 1994 Huskers beating that Penn State team.
  24. It won't mean much unless they do something about the offensive coordinator, Jeff Bowden sucks.
  25. Tra Thomas is on IR for the rest of the year. THE RACE FOR LAST PLACE IS ON!!!
