  1. It's happened in the Big 12 before. Remember 1996, I think Texas was 7-4 and they beat 10-1 Nebraska in the Big XII title game and went to the Fiesta Bowl. Screwed Nebraska over in the process because had Nebraska won that game, they would've played Florida State for the national championship.
  2. I'm joking, it's a play off of the whole Limbaugh controversy from ESPN.
  3. I never saw AngleSault as a "white man" ever....ever
  4. Was it made by a fat man in a black Stetson?
  5. I'm taking it one game at a time in the playoffs, hell it's just not the Eagles that have the choking tendency, the whole goddamn city has it (Phillies in 1993, Flyers in the 90s, Smarty Jones)
  6. *cheap shot*Heh so says the Browns fan...
  7. NE scares the ever-loving hell out of me because Belichick always has something planned for an opposing offense, no doubt he will have a plan for McNabb and Owens. Indy would be a shootout.
  8. Oh man I can't WAIT for PTI today and Wilbon trying to defend Bonds on this one....
  9. I'll kinda miss Jerome From Manhattan II(WFAN listeners know who I'm talking about), because of his amazing ability to pin every Yankee problem on Jeff Weaver.
  10. Don't you have money to go steal from your girlfriend?
  11. If I was Notre Dame, I would seriously take a long look at Rick Neuheisel. He was cleared of any wrongdoing in that NCAA investigation with that whole basketball pool flap, and the man can recruit and flat out coach.
  12. I think the buyout was $250,000. Florida will probably cover that. ND probably will look at someone like Dan Hawkins of Boise State now.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=1937879 ESPN.com news services The University of Florida has offered its coaching job to Urban Meyer, who accepted today, ESPN.com's Pat Forde has learned. Florida papers reported the offer to Meyer, who has coached Utah to a 12-0 season and a BCS bowl bid, on their Web sites Friday morning. "It could be any minute," UF president Dr. Bernie Machen told The Palm Beach Post earlier today. "I'm waiting for an e-mail." When asked about the report, Utah athletic director Chris Hill, deferred. "My position is to let the other parties in these things -- the schools and the coach -- speak for themselves," Hill said. "Any kind of confirmation would have to come from other sources." When pressed, Hill offered no further comment. Meyer met with his players Thursday and told them what schools are pursuing him, but he would not be specific when asked about the meeting. "There's too many things involved right now to have any comments," Meyer said after a practice at Utah's new indoor practice field. Florida officials were in Utah on Thursday, as were Notre Dame officials. Meyer will replace Ron Zook, who was fired but coached the team through the end of the season. The Utah coach has said he wants to coach the Utes in their bowl game. Zook has not yet decided whether he will coach the Gators in the Peach Bowl. Utah is expected to consider members of its current staff to replace Meyer.
  14. Man first Marv Albert lost Van Gundy as a color man, now Fratello. I don't think Steve Kerr is going to be a head coach too is he?
  15. I read an article today, it was on either ESPN.com or CBS Sportsline about the ND alumni and why they didn't want Willingham. It mentioned the intensity that prior coaches had (Ara Parseghian, Lou Holtz, even Gerry Faust), and how the alumni and boosters loved that kind of coach while they pretty much fumed for six years while Dan Devine was the coach, Devine being a much more reserved, brooding type of coach. I tend to agree with this article, as it seemed as if Notre Dame had gotten another Dan Devine in Willingham when the alumni and boosters all wanted another Parseighan or Holtz, not just the successes, but the fire and intensity that these two had.
  16. -I like Brent Musberger calling games -I like Steven A Smith -I think Michael Irvin is the only reason to watch Sunday NFL Countdown -I like hearing Trev Alberts going off on rants -I watch IMax a lot -I nearly cried after the Eagles lost to Tampa in the 2003 NFC title game and put a hole in my wall
  17. I know this isn't associated with the conference championships, but since it's college football I thought I'd put it in here, Ole Miss has just fired head coach David Cutcliffe.
  18. I'm rooting for Colorado on Saturday not because of anything against OU, but the prospect of seeing Michael Wilbon's head explode on PTI Monday because of Gary Barnett winning a conference championship is too tempting to pass up.
  19. I don't think Faust can really be faulted for that 58-7 Miami loss in 1985. He had announced his resignation earlier in the week and the team was in shambles already.
  20. You know, I'd love to watch the Mich State/Duke game, then I remember Vitale will be the color man. Oh and he's pissed me off already with Coach K Hummer #1.
  21. Haha on Mike and the Mad Dog today, Mike was giving Chris all sorts of holy hell for the Giants signing Benitez considering that Russo shit all over him when Armando Long Ball was playing for the Mets.
  22. That was because of red-zone defense. I believe Minnesota got into the red-zone about 3 times in that game and was limited to field goals or turned the ball over. Stats can be awfully overrated in football, weren't the Patriots stats in 2001 around the middle?
  23. Minnesota's offense is averaging a point under Green Bay's, and the Eagles held them to 16 points if you remember. Also was pretty darn effective on Moss.
  24. I have no doubt in my mind that Simon's going to Washington, that will be Daniel Snyder's "Try to stick it to a division rival and have it blow up in your face" move for next year.
  25. You would think Simon would be having a monster year due to it being a contract year, but that doesn't seem to be the case. I can still see someone *coughDanSnydercough* giving him a ton of money in the off-season. It suprises me that Hollis Thomas is still healthy this deep into the year too.
