  1. Glanville pinch runs for Burrell. FIRE BOWA.
  2. *checks* Ok, that wasn't you. I'm just tired of hearing "BREAK UP THE TIGERS!" or whatever else whenever any underachieving team wins more than 2 in a row.
  3. I'm as tired of that phrase as you are of the _-Rod phrase.
  4. Good to see the Braves lay a beat-down on the Marlins. The Phillies don't see the Marlins again until July, thank god.
  5. I don't see Brown as the injury risk others do. He missed time in 2001-02 with back trouble. Outside of those two years, he has a long string of 32+ start seasons.
  6. I'm scouting players and reading comments on them, and this one comes up for Mike Mussina...... Do we really need to credit reporters for unearthing stats?
  7. I couldn't see the Upper Deck, but the stands are filled, and its a solid crowd for baseball.
  8. Four batters in, 4-0 Phillies.
  9. Three batters in, 3-0 Phillies.
  10. I've got it on my feed.
  11. Home Opener tonight in Montreal.
  12. I've got some interesting potential moves now that A-Rod is 3B eligible.
  13. Calling Royce Clayton a surplus is like your septic system backing up.
  14. Same here. Santo is easily the best eligible position player not in the Hall.
  15. http://yesnetwork.com/yankees/news.asp?news_id=141 Stephen Goldman's Latest Pinstripe Bible at the YES website.
  16. Watching PTI. Fuck Mariotti for taking an opportunity to bash Iverson and others because of this.
  17. I'd trade Johnson for Choi. Even if his hot string runs out, he's still better than Matheny.
  18. We didn't have ANY revenue sharing until after the 1994 strike. Then a revenue sharing plan fell into place, and THEN the Yankees started winning and spending. Revenue sharing was an absolute failure because teams, notably the Twins, Expos and Brewers, realized they no longer had to place a winning product on the field in order to make money. The Brewers currently spend LESS on payroll than they receive in revenue sharing. If they aren't spending the money they get NOW, why should they get any more? I've never understood why fans and analysts (George Will comes to mind) who are entirely conservative start picking up socialist ideals when it comes to sports. I'm not an expect on Unions, so I'm not getting into that argument. But how exactly is the MLBPA hurting baseball, and fans in general? The Yankees' outspend everyone? I don't see the rings. The MLBPA is the most successful union in the country. I'd hardly call them asinine.
  19. Hitting. I have Gerald Laird at catcher, and I think he'll do fine.
  20. I think he'd still get walked. Let him get walked then. This move puts ALL of the Giants' hitters behind him, and gives them a free baserunner to start off with, leading to more runs scored.
  21. I follow the SB/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons because they're the closest team to my home. And Yankees prospects to watch: Eric Duncan. Rudy Guillen. Dioner Navarro.
  22. Logged on to MLB.com, and they've started running All-Star balloting, just three weeks into the season. I don't think I'm the only person who thinks this is ridiculously early. I know you all make your All-Star selections based on current performance. I ask you take sample size into account when you are making your selections. Just because Johnny Wiffleton is hitting .350 with 0 walks does not make him an All-Star. Generally when I'm making selections, I take this year's stats and combine them with last year's stats. Otherwise, you get truly ridiculous All-Star selections in retrospect.
  23. Pshaw. I always punch it below 50% if I'm working a good game. Which is almost like always... At least, it used to be. I still need a new PS2. I don't think being Dusty Baker is a point of pride.
  24. I've got Charles Johnson on the trading block.
  25. Alot of this comes off as sour grapes, and I apologize. Its just been a frustrating time to be a Phillies fan.
