  1. It should be called NYC Monster Project Ive got a $1 fandango code I need to use by the end of the month and this looks like the best bet. For $1 if it sucks Im only out $1.
  2. Death to Blu Ray and HD DVD! If the service is affordale (sub $30), Id gladly put up another dish (#4) for the service.
  3. R Is he going to switch parties to the Democrats? I get the feeling that the "real" change that people want is just the Republicans out of control of the white house.
  4. I was at Starcade and the crowd was maybe 1/3 anti goldberg and cheered when Nash won..
  5. Why not beforehand? I was assuming that we were going with the idea that you could go back and attend the event with no knowledge of what would happen, hence I wouldnt know about the little shit catching the ball til after it happened. But Id knock him back into 1995, and his ass wouldn't be paraded around like a hero (which annoyed me more than just the fact that he caught the ball).
  6. I was in the market for a new laptop myself, dont think its exactly going to help you but for $480 (actually $550+tax-some leftover giftcards I had) I got a HP 15.1 inch laptop with an AMD Athlon dual core 1.9 ghz, 2 gb ram 160 gb hd dvd burner and an nvidia geforce7150 go graphics card. Im turning my 4 year old desktop into a hub that runs my internet connection sharing and everything to my Nintendo, directv box and other computers. Sad thing is in this configuration I cant set up wireless sharing since my EVDO doesnt support a wireless router so everything has to be done by ethernet cable. But I can always hook the evdo modem directly to the laptop and it would work just the same, but Id lose internet to the other devices on my network. But still for $480 I think I got a good deal on a nice laptop.
  7. SD beat the Colts once, they'll do it again. Every other home team wins.
  8. Game 1 of the 1996 ALCS so I could punch Jeffrey Meier in the face afterwards Cal's 2131 game
  9. She fell down on the travelator and couldn't get back up. I think she just laid there for a good 30+ seconds. she had her hands on the top but never really tried to pull herself up..as much of a lead she had going to that she should have won..it was crazy.
  10. Somebody tell me how Venus won that first Eliminator..did the red girl just give up?
  11. I wonder if they'll keep stats of the gladiators like they used to?
  12. Its at least in HD..sort of. lots of macroblocking during fast shots/movement. I was really wanting Atlasphere back myself.
  13. The new Samsung BDUP5500 (not the 5000 thats sort of available now) combo player will be available in May for $599, which ensures yet again I'll hold off on that.
  14. On Thursday, Jimmy Kimmel is going to be a guest on Leno and Leno will be a guest on Kimmel's show.
  15. No one had either when I did a thread search
  16. The benefit of a combo player is A) They will go down in price if HD-DVD dies B) You'll be able to get the movies that were put out in HD-DVD first cheaper and not have to spend money to get them when they're rereleased on BluRay.
  17. Maryland Blackbirds!
  18. I doubt anyone has him but we have our first "celebrity" death of 08 George MacDonald Fraser (writer) -- Dead. Cancer. Died January 2, 2008. Among his highlights he wrote the screenplay for the James Bond film Octopussy. Oh, and I wish I had noticed this..the Korean Boxer Yo-Sam Choi, he collapsed during a fight on Christmas Day (after winning the WBC Flyweight Title) but wasn't pronounced legally dead until the 2nd. He was only 35 AND it was "technically" an accident..damn.
  19. Maybe that means we'll get a RAW House show here at the end of the year. Im going to the SD/ECW on 1/20. Its being announced as Edge/Batista and CM Punk/Mark Henry, plus Ric Flair. Ive only seen Flair wrestle live twice, once was about 20 years ago and the other was at a Nitro here sometime when nitro was only an hour in the mid 90's (I still have it on VHS but I dont have a VCR anymore..ugh)
  20. I dont know why that bothers people..
  21. can we lump them with the retards that dont believe we ever landed on the moon and the people in 2008 that still think the earth is flat (they stil exist!)
  22. In the global warming scenario, which is which? There are many reputable scientists that support each side. If being paid by Oil to be against global warming invalidates them, then what does getting paid by companies that stand to benefit if we switch away from oil do to that reasearch? I suppose its the wackjob that can be trusted since he's not getting paid by either side, though he's probably getting paid by someone just because in this day and age all reasearch is funded by someone. Im already tired of trying to argue this. You can believe in science, you can believe in religion, you can believe in nothing for all I care. But I still don't see how a candidate agreeing with a theory proposed by Charles Darwin on how we evolved from apes or whatever has even the slightest relevance to 2008 politics in this country, other than from non-religious people who are worried Huckabee's gonna win and take over and force everyone to convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Which is as likely to happen as John Edwards winning and forcing everyone to watch the Waltons everynight on television.
  23. You can easily spin science. The whole global warming thing is a prime example. Oil industries are paying scientists to do studies that prove its not caused by CO2 emissions and you have companies that will benefit greatly if theres a great energy shift away from fossil fuels paying scientists to say it is. Then there are wackjob scientists out there doing research on their own that say Global Warming is a good thing because it increases plant activity thus producing more food and trees for humans to use. Ciggarettes are another..there were tons of science studies funded by tobacco companies that didn't put any link between cigarettes and health problems..it took different funded studies to prove otherwise, although there are probably still people out there that don't believe them for one reason or another.. I just want to put it out there that Im not religious and don't really care if we evolved from monkeys or weird sea creatures or if we just appeared here by some divine intervention. I dont see how thats important in 2008 given the numerous other issues that this country faces, to make Evolution a key determining factor in someones electability.
  24. Science is easily spinned one way or another depending on the results one wants (see: Global Warming) but the fact is no one is ever going to know definitively the answer to evolution save for someone inventing time travel. Science isn't the end all be all for proving anything to be 100% factual you know. You have some scientists who say global warming is caused by CO2 and all and you have some that swear its the natural cooling/warming cycle of the earth (which by the way we're supposedly now entering a long cooling period according to some scientists). Someone's gotta be wrong (unless you figure they're both right or both wrong somehow). Pluto was called a planet for 77 years and then suddenly scientists decide its not a planet anymore and so it isn't, even though for 77 years it was the P in MVEMJSUNP... I Could see an argument if they were running for some sort of leadership position at a Science Institute or something..
